Fortune, Thank you for the concise answers. I appreciate it.
And she may not have, it is a half remembered reference. But I know it had something to do with that pair and Crater Lake. |

At crater lake she banished his father, creating a mana spike.

Ah! I knew she banished -someone-. Thank you.
Was that spike smoothed out by the Dragon Heart, or as large as the GGD's? |

Well, right now Crater Lake is actually a mana ebb, and there were weird things involving floating buildings and whatnot even before Ysrthgrathe was banished. Of course, Crater Lake is also part of the network of manalines and power sites on the Ring of Fire that helped support the floating isle of Mu. So yeah, draw your own conclusions. Yeah, but there's a gradient now. Negative background count.

I don't mean to be dense, but when you say negative background count, that leads one to think it offers negitive TN modifiers to spellcasting, as opposed to normal BG count which offers a positive modifier. A BG Count of 2 would be a +2 TN on all spell casting in that area, while a negative BG count would seem to suggest a -2 TN to all spell-casting, making it 'easier'.
Is this what you mean to suggest? |

in Shadowrun4, there is no TN anymore, just number of successes and DP-Mods
as long as the Background is not aspected to your tradition, every background is basically negative background, as every background reduces magic by it's level difference between background count and shallows/fovae being, that one overlaps anything else magically(count) and one sucks everything magically up(shallow) two different things that basically do the same to your magic . . like a knife stabbing you or a gun shooting you, both will hurt you and you won't like either one. at least, that's how i understand that . . |

Ahh. I've not picked up SR4. I still dwell (And will for some time to come) in the world of SR3. It's a world I know well.
Also: Another Question. What has become of the Draco Foundation, with the disappearance of Ms. Daviar, in 2070? Is the Draco Foundation still a major player? I imagine the public portions of the will were only a small portion of his actual desires, and its known what he gave out was only a fraction of his wealth. |

still going, what with more drakes and the such coming to light.
and in SR3, shallows and backgroundcount BOTH raised the TN for magic too . . by different means, maybe, but notheless the same . . if the count was not aspected at least . . |

That of course, begs the question: Who the hell was Daviar? Her eastern European leanings would seem to hint at a Barsave link, but I've never found any link between her and any immortal elves or such as the like. She was far too powerful, I think, to have been a simple normal elf, for Dunk to have trusted her so much as to leave the vast bulk of his estate to her. A big production was made of the mystery of her origins.
She had a romance, some say, with Ryan Mercury, a drake. Is it possible she was one of Dunkelzahn's drakes and simply kept it secret? Why would the Vice President of the UCAS (And presumed President!) and Chairman of the board of one of the most powerful charitable foundation simply run away? |

I thought a secregasm was a secretary's private pleasure.

Will the 6th world drakes become dragons in the 8th world? A good nap can be very refreshing you know.

No. Drakes were originally created by Great Dragonkind as they appear now to act as servants. Since Drakes haves existed through both an entire high and entire low mana cycles, what you see is what you get.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) There might be some information on the Draco Foundation in an upcoming campaign series... Or, as Peter is fond of saying: "if the name isn't a dead giveaway you haven't been running the shadows for long enough" |
