All
Given the loss it seems of three players from the game I'm going to open things up for a maximum of 3 new players to join. character creation rules are: 1. 400BPs 2. 50Karma to spend after build. 3. Further (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) 25,000 to spend after build 4. Sammy as a contact (2/3) 5. No AI's this time. Standard metahumans from the core book. Given the active runners are currently mid way through a run there needs to be a solid hook as to why Sammy would get you involved and how. Right now Sammy is concerned for the runners as things are not making too much sense to him from where he sits so he is looking for a couple more players to grant assistance to the existing team. He will personally offer you each 10K to do it as a favor for him (since the existing contract is with the actives and its up to them to split what ever they get with you at the end) Submission deadline : week today (22nd). |

What character types do you have now, and are there any gaps that you want/need filled?

Yes, we have a social/combat adept, and a technomancer. It has come up that the technomancer has an unfortunate flaw in that he does not have electronic-warfare (I overlooked it at chargen, and it cannot be defaulted to - but I'm rolling with it). I'll hope to spend karma getting it to 1, eventually, but even then, that's not a lot of dice. There is defiantly room for another matrix-suave character, particularly if he is passable at electronic warfare (a drone rigger, maybe). We haven't had a chance, yet, to see how we'll fare in combat, but I suspect that a dedicated street-sam type would be more than welcome (unless Vamp is way better with his sword than I expect). We also have no mages/shamans at this point (having lost two of them), so ANY sort of magical support would be great.

I'm interested.
How about Kit, a half Japanese magician shadowrunner, that might also be half kitsune (done as a elven changling (with a small tail)). Is he really half Kitsune? Who knows, but he is a powerful illusionists who the Kama will listen to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Not to says there are not some powerful players that would like to take him apart to find out. Or Keen a bio ware stealth samurai. Love the game and bought it at Gencon when it first came out. Proved that if you have a cool concept and top notch background material for a RPG, you don't even need a working combat system. I've ran a decade long SR campaign and last year started up a 4th edition old school campaign based in 2054. I have no problems posting a reply in under a 24 hour turn around. It won't always be a long post, but it will be something to keep the game moving. |

Rock on.
You need the two concepts that I have been itching to play the most. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Rigger and street sam. I'll think something up and get back to you soon. |

I'd be interested in playing. I started playing my first PbP mid-2009, but it died. I was really enjoying it, so given the opportunity to play another would be exciting.

Sammy probably wouldn't give you a full account of the run since he only has snippets of information.
On the other hand Sammy is based on a RL friends dwarf rigger who has been around the block for the last 20 some years and got put into retirement recently. So, i decided to use him as a contact for the game, he knows the inside of a run, how they play out etc and is able to smell trouble when its coming. The to and fro questions from Vamp has raised a couple of flags, the fact he can no longer get hold of the Johnson has raised some flags and a bit of digging himself has raise even more alarm bells. What he would brief you on is this: 1. There's a run already in effect. The team are thin on the ground and possibly getting in over their heads. This bit is supposition, but he did select them thinking they'd cope (at full strength) 2. The Johnson has gone AWOL and isn't responding to questions. Not always unusual but Sammy normally expects some response even a 'leave me alone' 3. The team have requested some heavy firepower. 4. He got a very quick hit on a supplier for the firepower. Quick enough to make him think something isnt right and that bit worries him the most. So he's turning to you to go in and provide backup. He is ideally looking at sending additional combat, tech and magical backup to the team. You will likely get introduced after point 3 and 4 have resolved themselves though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Ok...I shouldn't have any problems coming up with something. What city are we running in? I don't want to assume its Seattle. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotate.gif) I'm just trying to figure out knowledge skills and contacts, etc. that are appropriate for the setting.

It has come up that the technomancer has an unfortunate flaw in that he does not have electronic-warfare (I overlooked it at chargen, and it cannot be defaulted to - but I'm rolling with it). Crack, Data and Machine Sprites have EW skill. Machine Sprites, and optionally Courier Sprites can have Command CF. All you need to do is control a device that can Scan, and be able to compile sprites. |

Do you have an email address to send char sheets to? Cause I really don't want to have to copy and paste this whole thing to the board. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/silly.gif)

Crack, Data and Machine Sprites have EW skill. Machine Sprites, and optionally Courier Sprites can have Command CF. All you need to do is control a device that can Scan, and be able to compile sprites. Yes, Scorch is also unable to compile sprites (wild technomancer). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Another niche that might be fillable, if someone was so inclined. |

QUOTE 3. The team have requested some heavy firepower. Oh, the desire to play a HW/explosives expert.... but I'm going to have enough trouble keeping up with the games I'm already in I think. *wanders off talking about rocket launchers and kilos of explosives* |

I'm also willing to throw my hat into the ring, if there's an opening. If not, keep me in mind for the backup list.
