Voorhees - Jet Jaguar Guest Starring Ellylamb - "Johnny Lightning" Players, post a brief desciption of your character, so everyone is on the same page. And come up with a name and leader for you racing team I nominate Maeva LeClerc, based solely on that she has the fasted vehicle, no other reason. Don't read that as "I choose Maeva LeClerc" instead as she might be someone to consider.

Maeva, pronounced "Mai-e-va") would prefer not to be the team leader. She's the gal with the smile and tight racing outfit to distract the crowd, not the person who wants to fret over numbers, spare parts and strategy. I'll post a summary later tonight, as I'm not on a comp with access to my notes right now. (Read: A public dataterm) [Edit] Right, here's the full data dump on Maeva. I'll hold my nomination for a leader until everyone's had a chance to introduce their characters. :) Appearance: [ Spoiler ] Maeva is tall elf of the night ones metatype. She has a lithe body and generous curves. Her skin (or fur, if you will) is dark blue with a purple tint to it. Her hair - usually worn loose and reaching a bit below her shoulders - a lighter shade of the same hue with several silvery streaks running through it. She has finely chiseled features, ears slightly larger than average for an elf and a mischievous smile that could sell toothpaste by the truckload. The net effect is an almost impossibly perfect face and body. She did not look half bad from natures side and a mixture of vanity and the best modern plastic surgery could offer only made her appearence even more striking when she went underground. Her cybernetic eyes are blue - no irises and pupils - and barring when she's sleeping or trying to be stealthy they glow faintly (eye light system). Two chipjacks and a datajack are mounted vertically on the left side of her throat, all of them capped in silver and worked in inticrate tribal designs. The same tribal designs are mirrored in her shifting nanotattoo, designed to make her fur take on a silvery color in patterns that run down both sides of her throat, covers both her shoulders and runs down both her arms ending just before the wrists. A pendant, following the design of her datajack caps hangs from an almost invisible chain around her neck and three small rings pierce her right ear. She typically wears a tight black tank top and a pair of cargo pants to show off her tattoos or whatever happens to be fashionable street wear along with either a leather or securetech jacket when she's out of the workshop and cars. She has a Victory "industrious" jumpsuit with faux leather and the team colors coded into it she wears along with a flame-resistant form-fitting full body suit whenever she's in the racecar or the pit along with a black racers helmet. Personality: [ Spoiler ] Maeva lives not so much for speed as the chance to challenge herself. She used to love the limelight and even in hiding she still has a hard time resisting showing off for an audience. She's a pleasant enough person to be around as long as you're on her good side, though few are spared her razor tongue when she's stressed or in a bad mood. She has an immense faith both in her own abilities and the abilities of those who she've elected to call friends - sometimes overestimating what's possible, but always trusting to her quick thinking, reflexes and smile to see her through the worst life can throw at her. She's no good at resisting temptation or a fresh challenge, which is 9/10ths of the reason she's still racing. If she were to cash in on her spare equipment, vehicles and select bits of cyberware, she could probably live a somewhat comfortable life. She has tried carrying a grudge several times before, but has found she's no good at staying mad for extended periods of times. Even when she - intellectually - knows she ought to be angry enough at someone to rip their throat out (which is impressive in itself, considering her muscle mass isn't anything to write home about) several of her friends have found that offering her a glass of soybeer or a dinner is often all it takes to divert her attention away from the object of her animosity. She loathes manual labour, usually doing her best to pawn it off on the other "strong, handsome men" who happen to be nearby with a smile and batting her eyelashes. History: [ Spoiler ] Born to a reasonably wealthy family, consisting almost entirely of elves, Maeva (whose real name was Alette) nonetheless stood out as the odd one, being the only night one among them. She led a reasonably sheltered life in a corporate enclave, among people who didn't consider her a freak. She had both a passion and a knack for reckless driving, having driven various amateur racing leagues since the age of 8. Trusting to her skill and luck, she started her professional carreer at 16. While not the uncrowned queen of the road, she were a proficient racer, who more often than not acheived respectable rankings as she slowly climbed towards the professional leagues. With a somewhat colorful personality, crowd-pleasing looks and enough skills to remain in the top ten of most her races, she became a minor celeberty - if by no means nova hot as she approached the big leagues. The darker side of her success came from underworld connections. In order to retain her rankings as competition grew stiffer, she went under the knife several times to have just about any bit of bio- and cyberware the rules allowed installed, ever seeking the edge. When her winnings couldn't pay for the hardware, she eventually approached the local underground, seeking sponsorship. It started out well, but a bad season saw her falling behind on the dues in her loan. The mafia pretended to be patient with her, but increased the interest on the loans and started demanding she deliberately lost races where they had betted on her opponent. The net result were that she lost races she would otherwise have earned a mint on and she were eventually fighting just to meet the monthly interest rates. In the end, she saw a way out and took it. Joining one of the newly forming Guerre De Ville (the french precursor to Urban Brawl) teams as a combat biker, she managed to fake her death in a spectacular fireball, as her rigged motorcycle had an ejection seat installed along with enough explosives and smoke bombs to hide the fact from camera. Going under the knife one last time, she cut off all ties to her family and had a full facial and body reconstruction before immigrating to the states. Still enjoing the thrill of the race - and having sold several expensive pieces of kit from her old teams garage that she took with her - she is presently racing at whatever venues look challenging. These are rarely events covered by the media however, as she still lives in the fear that someone might recognize who she were and old friends from France come asking for loans plus interest repaid. With her inherent skill and upgrades, she's still able to make a comfortable living, simply from winnings in cannonball runs, minor venues and taking a few odd jobs on the side. Designed with more safety in mind than you'd think - the owners personality considered - and with a vibroknife permanently installed to slash the APPS restraints in a hurry after a crash. Considering where she lives, the fact that there's no grafitti on it whatsoever is remarkable in itself. The vehicle is so plain it almost borders on painfully banal, but it's good enough for beer runs and the star doesn't bother it the same way they'd bother a sports car built to overtake helicopters and passenger airplanes. Lifestyles: [ Spoiler ] Lifestyle: Main Small flat in Tacoma. The rent is low, mainly due to the go-gangers that plague the area. Incidentially, the same go-gangers are Maevas friends thorugh her buddy (Glottis) and keep an extra eye on her apartment to make sure noone she doesn't like gets too close. The flat contains a single bedroom, a small kitchen that opens up into a living room, a bathroom with a shower, a wardrobe and a small hallway to connect everything. The fridge is usually well stocked with real food and the autochef's pretty decent too. It's a pleasant place, if a little crammed once there's more than 4 people about. Lifestyle: Backup When things are a little hot, Maeva has a small back room at Bens (A good friend of hers) garage. Her tools are stored there, along with ahammock and a few sets of clothing. Living is spartan at best and the garage open at all sorts of odd hours make for noisy nights. That and since the garage wasn't actually meant to be a residence, she gets the dubious pleasure of sharing the kitchen and showers with whatever mechanics happen to be on duty at the time. But at least noone asks any questions. for all they know, she's one of their boss'es buddies come over to hang around while she's waiting for spare parts for her car. Anyhoo... Appearance [ Spoiler ] Jet Jaguar, or Sven Jorgunson, is a tall and fanatically fit human of Nordic descent, with green eyes and short blonde hair spiked in a facsimile of Billy Idol's. He has no obvious cyber, but his reflexes are too twitchy, and his body is too damage resistant to be natural. He has a full back tattoo of Godzilla smashing a building, and usually wears a T-shirt and jeans, with an everpresent black motorcycle jacket. His two bikes, Godzilla and Ghidorah are well cared for, and both have a front holster for his AK-98. Personality [ Spoiler ] His personality is pretty much 10 pounds of wit and sarcasm in a 5 pound bag. He's always making jokes and strange insults. He also loves Godzilla movies, and will talk about them at great length to anyone who will listen. He's kind of a music nerd as it relates to Punk Rock and New Wave between the ages of 1970 to the 2060s, talking at length about bands like the Sex Pistols, or the Ramones. If he's not making a joke, he's usually kind of quiet, and he's not vindictive in that he always gets back at people who wrong him, its just that he can't really accept losing a race, and will constantly demand rematches, combined with impulsive, this means he usually never backs down from a racing challenge, unless he really knows he has no chance. He also resolves only to cheat as much as his opponent does. Running Target Group: Members Posts: 1,144 Joined: 22-September 04 Member No.: 6,690	Sebastian is not a take charge kind of guy (given his physical appearance and all) but's he very good at recieving input from multiple sources, correlating the data, and making a plan of action, which are all good technical leader skills. He stays on good terms with the local gangs, patching up their bikes, or replacing bullet riddled windshields when they need it. This is where he keeps his actual working car shop. Perhaps that's why they got along so well together. They have kept in minimal contact, mostly so that Sebastian can keep abreast of developments at Ares, in case any other positions he could take arise. Hard Luck Louis [troll] (1): It's Hard Luck to be someone Louis doesn't like... He's a liuetenant in one of the larger gangs roaming the borders of the Barrnes, and he lead the group that 'welcomed' Sebastian to the neighborhood when he moved in. After Chicago, a handful of gangers on beat up bikes didn't faze him the slightest, but he showed them respect, paid the protection money, and when one of Louis' bike blew it's fuel line when raced the engine, Sebastian didn't laugh, or smirk, but calmly fixed it. Chicago also taught him that you take what allies you can get. He helps the gang out when they need minor repair work on their rides, and they respect him and his doss, and make sure others do too. Louis got a boost of recognition for bringing such a useful resource to the gang, and shows some fondness for the useful, if strange, dwarf rigger. Kuruma Nakagawa [ork] (2): Kuruma is probably one of the best street mechanics in Seattle, and one of the only people out there who would call Sebastian a friend. The fact of the matter is, since whenever they're together all they talk about is cars, Kuruma has never gotten around to noticing that there's anything wrong with the dwarf. He runs a legit car repair, and towing business by day, getting most of his work from tourists who have a breakdown while in the 'scary' sections of Seattle. His night time dealings revovle around the chop shop he's got deep within the bowels of his autoyard. He can modify anything that moves, and a few things that can't. He'll even do a little weapon work, but nothing too illegal or heavy. He likes Seattle, and he doesn't want to have to worry about suddenly relocating elsewhere. Backstory: [ Spoiler ] He's got a stare that can really set people on edge. He just sits there, doesn't blink, doesn't even seem to breath, his cyber eyes an opaque, and depthless black. He just sits, and watches, and people start to get nervous, wondering just what he's looking at? Is there something wrong with them, or is it something else? Sebastian was born in Chicago, grew up there, and was trapped there when the bugs came out and the walls went up. He'd always been a quiet boy, with a fascination for cars, and had always viewed riggers, people who could actually become the car, with a sort of awe. When you were a rigger, it didn't matter who you were, or what you looked like, you could make the vehicle yours. That was a very imortant thing to Sebastian, because his body had set him apart from so much else. He had been born tiny, but so perfectly proportioned that it wasn't realized he was a dwarf until the standard genetic testing came back, and even after adolescense he could still be easily mistaken for a human child of thirteen or fourteen. He got his first piece of cyber while in the CZ. His family, part of a small group of refugees, made a run for the sanctuary of the Wrigely dome. They were set on by a group of wasps. All he remembers is screams, a flash of... something, and then darkness. The next thing he could remember was waking up in a makeshift hospital and realizing there was something strange with his vision. His brother had managed to drag him, bleeding, half his face torn up by a talon slash, to the Wrigley Dome. There were several doctors and cyber physcians among the refugees there, and they replaced his eyes with parts from someone who didn't need them anymore. The cyber eyes helped him live through, if not exactly survive Chicago. Everything that he saw through them seemed removed, like a trid program. He could pretend that it wasn't real, like the day the roaches tried to swarm through the Clark Street entrance, and his brother, manning a machine gun, was bitten in half, the roach running off with his legs, leaving the torso screaming and bleeding on the floor. It was just like any other bad slasher trid. They were all bad slasher trids. That was how he made himself so helpful in the makeshift hospital. It wasn't his hands helping to hold down a girl as the doctors tried to to put her insides back in. And those weren't real guts, just special effects. It made him a very reliable, and efficent person to rely on for many of the tasks of day to day life at Wrigley field. When the wall came down, he moved in with distant relatives in Detroit. By then he had developed the stare, that way of watching the world like it was just another trid program. He recieved a job offer from Ares. His hard work at the dome had been noticed and commented on, and now that he lived in Ares home town, the megacorp was happy to reward him for his efforts. A small, rather boring site needed a security rigger, and Ares would install the rigging deck as part of the job. He agreed. He did a good job, earned a good paycheck, and since he was in the motor city, he put most of that towards motors, tinkering with cars. He started having problems at work though. It wasn't that he was doing a bad job, but simply that he made people uncomfortable, just by being in the same room. They started putting him on night shifts, but even that didn't work out. He had shown to be a good employee so far, so the site managers offered him a promotion. He'd be a delivery driver for sensitive materials, and again to show how they valued his efforts, they would give him a VCR. That was a job he excelled at. He rarely interacted with other people, and proved to be an excellent rigger. He liked becoming the vehicle. Nothing made them hurt, they just existed, going from one place to another. He came to love the Bulldog step van he usually drove. It was comfortable, secure, and it, along with thousands others like it spent all day trundling along, going from place to place completly oblivious to the rest of the world. They didn't even need to rest. Just feed them a little bit of fuel and off they went again. Sebastian didn't like resting much. He couldn't stand the darkness, couldn't stand the thought of what might be moving around in it where he couldn't see. He needed to be able to see, always. Sleep was not any better. His waking mind knew that Chicago was far behind him, but his subconcious did not realize that, and every time he closed his eyes he was carried immediately back into the worst days at the Dome. He upgraded his VCR, and realized he liked cyber, how each time he got a new piece it cut out a little more of his humanity, made him _feel_ a little less. However, in order to keep getting more 'ware, he had to start hunting out less and less reputable places to get it installed. He had too much wire in his head, real doctors wouldn't touch him, it was too risky. Sometimes, these 'doctors' would require favors as payment, things that only a rigger could do for them, and that was how Sebastian started to slowly slip into the shadows. He got a chip habit, but a very odd one. He didn't got for the Better Than Life chips. Most of them he had to get custom, but he didn't have to worry about blowing ASIST ratings, the chips he slotted were closer to sensory deprivation rather than overload. Vast, murmuring, shifting crowds, the silent void of deep space, the drifting suspension beneath the surface of a blue and endless ocean, these were the fantasies that he retreated into. He drove the getaway car for a team of runners taking a shot at an Azzie lab, and in exchange for that, and to make up for the bullets he caught in his shoulder, the team surgeon put him under the knife for a metabolic arrestor, and much more importantly, a sleep regulator. It helped him a little, keeping him away from the darkness and terror that much longer, but it was already too late. Problems were arising at Ares again. He was doing a good job. Actually, he was doing an excellent job, and had saved his cargo from liberation by runners on multiple occasions, but even the minimal contact he was having with people was causing friction. Just the amount of time it took him to get an authorizes signature before releasing his delivery could leave someone jumpy for the rest of the day. Rumors were also starting to trickle into listening ears about just how he occupied himself in his off time. what His managers were sorry to do it, but they let him go. So for a week, he sat, staring out at the street, sometimes eating, sometimes sleeping. Then, a 'doctor' called. They needed a favor _from_ him this time, a favor that needed to be done in Seattle, and they were willing to pay for it...

And decide how everyone met to get some initial relationships going. Of course, it'd all be easier if we knew a little more of the setting. Such as wether we're racing legally on public tracks, doing underground cannonball runs in the sprawl or improvised urban brawl in the barrens. looks to Kiedo ...I imagine our characters would know at least that much from the onset. As for the whole leader idea, I still doubt Maeva would make a good leader. But if need be, she could probably fill in as the prerequisite T&A or hold a pep talk or two as a leiutenent. Of the three who've chipped in with PCs so far, I think Sebastian's the only one level-headed enough to be an effective leader in the long run. Jet is - Voorhees own account - all wit and sarcasm and Maeva's probably all too likely to throw a fit at the wrong time (which in my experience is quite common among french women ;) ).

When the team first meets Knobby Bob he might be fresh off the streets, so; Ork, late teens, dirty ganger trash. His hair is black, full, shoulder length and greasy – tied into a ponytail under a red and white bandana, some silver rings woven in contrast sharply. His skin color hints at a Latino ancestry, and there are small scars on his face and the backs of his callused hands. His eyes are brown, and have the glare of an untrusting, hostile animal. Over two meters tall and about a hundred kilos. He’s wearing a synth-leather Jacket sized for a troll, the sleeves have been cut-off below the elbow to fit. Under this loose overcoat you can see a stained armor vest. A black belt with a silver-looking ‘skull & crossbones’ buckle holds up a pair of ratty looking jeans. Through holes in the jeans you can see some sort of form-fit armor. After a few weeks working with the crew, K-Bob will prove to be a good mechanic – and will do well in the role of enforcer/go-fer. He might even learn that the proper way to ask for a spanner is ‘please’, not ‘gimme &^$& spanner (^%&!!’. The more civilized might carefully consider some hygiene tips. Background: [ Spoiler ] Sired by an unknown father, to a mother who was a slitch, Reggie was the strongest of the litter. One sister died at birth, Reggie, his brother and other sister took shelter from their abusive mother by running away at age nine. Born in the Redmond Barrens, the three made it to Paradise Valley and were taken in by the Carters, a lonely couple. For Reggie this only lasted a year before he ran away again – back to the Barrens, scrounging scraps and rolling the weak squatters – but nobody was telling him what to do. One night, some gangers caught him robbing an old drunk, and jumped him. Busted up bad because he fought back he vowed to get revenge and to never, ever get beat again. Revenge became less important over time, and he got beaten often before hooking up with the Mavs – of course getting jumped-in there was one of the worst beatings he ever got. (age 13) The Mavericks were looking for new blood and Knobby Bob would do. The King himself gave Knobby Bob his colors, and after he took on that Americar solo, the whole gang partied while ‘ol Mary tagged his arm. He remembered that night vividly, the gang had taught him how to ride and fight at the same time, but he had to prove himself before he could raid with them. He’d picked the mark at Fallen City, getting on 202W – followed him for a little ways then pulled ahead. He had the beer bottle clenched tight between his legs, letting the smoothie catch up while he lit the microtorch. With a quick motion (He’d practiced most of the day) he lit the soaked rag and tossed the flaming mass, landing it neatly on the hood. As the car stopped he began to circle it, shooting out the windows. The driver bailed, running for the shoulder but K-Bob was on him in a flash. The rest of the raiders got there as he was stomping the smoothie, laughing and beating out the already dying flames. As K-Bob proudly led the rest of the raiders back to the barracks a cleanup pair took care of dumping the car and former driver into Lake Sammamish. The synthohal flowed freely that night in the Barrens. Of course there was down time between the highway raids and skirmishes, fights over who owned what or who slotted whom, and watching ‘Brawl or ‘Biking on the trid. I’ll post again tomorrow with the rest, but I spent the better part of the day snaking the drain line, and I really want to eat and go to bed. Thomas

Your team will be gearing up for a national racing event, in which the winner from each of the three divisions(drag, autocross, and rally) will be offered sponsorships for that particular event. The run will commence about two weeks before that happens. There will be a "conflict" with another team on the streets and after that you'll go on to the legal racing event. You can register for all the events or none of them it's your choice. Unless you guys start it I've got no plans for vehicle combat(aside from using the system to determine the winner). I had planned for your group to have forty members and all of the PC's be the leader/lieutenants, of the group. Sorry for keeping you in the dark so long. :please: I just wanted to make sure there were no power gamers designing thier characters for that sole purpose. This way your PC's are better rounded and can cope with more than just the 1320(thats how many feet there are in a quarter mile, and often what a drag strip is calledfor those of you who didn't know). You guys are very luck too, I spend alot of time at the track and going to races (and participating in races) so it's safe to say I know my stuff when it comes to cars(though I don't really care for Nascar, anybody can drive 200 miles an hour in a circle). For the purposes of the National championship the drag racing will have two categories, 400 meters(roughly a quarter mile) and 1000 meters(5/8 of a mile). The autocross, which is the same as the Le Mans, will be a time trial on a track, and the rally will be the same, just on dirt.

NOX takes up 2 CF, and 15kg. Sidecars do not automatically come with seating, and a regular bucket seat takes up 6 CF (the medium sidecar has 8) but 100 Load, which is taken from the Blitzen (you only have 25 at this point), and no vehicle can exceed it's Load rating. So, you can mount a gun, or something on the sidecar, but you can't carry a passenger there. Also, driving with the sidecar changes the Blitzen's stats to: Speed: 205 Handling:4/5 Economy 7.65

A brief History of "JohnnyLightning"(just your standard run of the mill info to save you guys from having to "google" it): [ Spoiler ] The day she was born, was the worst lightning storm the upper east side of Houston had seen this century. Fires broke out all over the city, and seems to almost radiate outward from Herman Memorial. Many of the awakened denizens of the metroplex thought it was a sign of the end of days. Samantha Delino's rude entrance to the world, marked the end of what Houstonians whould later call "Noche de la estufa eléctrica" or Night of electric fire. Her parents taking the storm as a bad sign, gave her up for adoption. Living in "St Mary's Home for Children", founded in 2021 by Father Gerard Donovan, until the age of six life was rough for Samantha. After she left the orfanage things got even worse, adopted by an abusive Ork family she saw the true nature of life as she would have. She knew then that she had to get out, so she began saving money she earned from neighbors for odd jobs and by the time she was fourteen, she had managed to amass almost two thousand nuyen. Carfully planning her actions for the next year, she ran away on her 15th birthday. After months of travelling back roads and hitch hiking(doing unspeakable things for fair), she arrived in Detroit. Looking much older than she actually was, unusual for an elf, she took work as a waitress at Chickenfoot Pete's (a "La Familia" owned and oporated restaurant chain). Her first boyfriend Kevin Harding, a human go ganger with the Borken Stingers, taught her how to drive a car, and she fell in love. Wanting nothing but to be a professional racer car driver, she began going to track meets and once again started to save and collect money, Kevin helped out tremendously pitching in what he could from various raids and looting he did with the gang. In little time at all she had gained enough money to buy her first car, a 2049 Nissan Skyline. Practicing driving on many late nights she began to gain the notice of coroporate race sponsors, and one night Catalyst incoroporated, a Seattle Based holdings company, aproached her. They told her that they would sponsor her entry into the professional auto cross circuit under the condition she relocate to seattle. Seeing her once in a lifetime oportunity, she quickly cut all ties in Detriot and moved. Catalyst had been very gracious and modified her Skyline to meet the specifiactions of the auto cross rules, put her up in a nice condo in Bellevue, and got her a road legal Nissan Jackrabbit. At first the going was tough, she lost many races and her sponsors began to feel they may had made a mistake. So in a desperate attempt to keep corporate backing she got her first peice of cyberware. The vehicle control rig(VCR) was the edge she needed, and after that she never lost another race. It wasn't long after that some goons from the local Don approached her. They offered her more money than she'd ever heard of if she'd throw the championship race that was fastly approaching, but Samantha had developed a hatred for lossing so she turned them down. This did not please the Don so he hired a group of shadowrunners to plant drugs in her urine test so she'd be disquilified and banned from further racing. The runners succeeded and Samantha was cast out back into the streets from where she had come, all she had was her skyline and her tenacity. Having known that racing was in her blood, she did the only thing she knew how to, race. She slowly began to rise again like a pheonix, and as she did her hatred for lossing grew even more, she began to think of the people she beat as worthless scum. Making many friends and even more enimies she soon began to realize the streets were unsafe for a single girl however fast and cunning she might be. So she and some of her new friends put together a gang of sorts, The Lightning Riders, with her naturally as the leader. Also you guys still having choosen a leader or a team name. No offense, but if this is a preview of whats to come, I think Xerrus might not be an ideal team leader. Louis seems to have the makings for team leader, Military background, insanely organized, handy with a wrench, ect. But again thats just a suggestion, after all it is your team. I'd like to put up the IC thread soon, but I need the name and leader to do so...

I'll check into that though. Oh on another note, I don't really know what level of racing fan any of you are, so I've been assuming that it's, "yeah thats when cars go fast" for the sake of simplicity, if that comes off as "talking down" believe me I don't mean it as such. I just want to make sure when I say 1320 or 400 you know I'm talking about a drag strip not some obscure rule or something. So again I apologize if you think I'm being condescending, I you know allot about racing then this will be a refresher course, if you don't then maybe you'll learn something.

He has short brown hair, usually combed back with his fingers, at least enough to keep it out of his eyes. He has hazel eyes, he seems to never look around though, always staring at some fixed point that exists in another world, but he is remarkably unsurprised by things happening. Even though he is skinny, hes in good shape, muscles attached to bone with some skin stretched over the top. Hes sorta tan, from running around on the streets, but hes still fairly pale. He has a hardened appearence in his eyes and face, and tends to ignore anything not associated with him. He usually wears the sleeping tiger line of clothing, featuring leather pants, a pvc vest, with wire mesh cuffs. He also wears a chain for his belt (instead of the cheap metal one that came with the outfit) and keeps a taser in the built in concealed holster. Personality: [ Spoiler ] Xerrus loves speed. He loves rigging also. He doesn't like himself very much, mostly due to his poor genetics resulting in him being rather slight of build, and easy to hurt. Because of this, he prefers to plug into his vehicles, and become them instead of him. Then hes powerful, and strong, and capable. Its an ego-boost for him. Its why he does it even with all the money hes gradually put into his vehicles. History: [ Spoiler ] When Xerrus was younger, he would go and watch the streetraces dreaming of being able to compete in them once he got older. He knew he would have to have a name to race by, as no one used their real name. He was reading a book one day, and saw the name Xerrus, and had identified with the character, who was stylized after indiana jones. This also caused him to have a fascination with whips. I really don't think it'd be fair for her to vote, since she's the leader of your rivals, unless she has some stock... But anyway, so I'm assuming the I's have it with ESS? thats a great name, clever, funny, and shrouded in mystery. So we just need Thomas and Tarantula to vote and we've got a team leader. Also Aes' suggestion of passing the time by thinking of how you met each other is a good one, not a nessecary one for the run to commence, but interesting to read none the less. Since were on the cusp of the beginning I'd just like to reiterate roll here, sigs off, take any liberties with the NPC's you'd like(that don't involve them getting killed or hurt), since we'll have allot of racing and maybe some fighting, don't post in the IC until the race/fight is resolved, and then you or I can do it, your choice. I like "free form" games so I've just got an agenda I'd like to see accomplished but after that good luck and have fun.

Fuji to prepare for a combined pirate/viking/Scotsman attack. As for how Sebstian met everyone... hmm... He'd built a reputation for himself as a competent, if not quite successful, street racer. He also had a sort of air of mystery about him, because he was very touchy about anyone actually seeing him in person. He had a deep voice over radio communications, but it wasn't too hard to tell that he was using a voice filter. One day, some of you recieved a job offer from 'Ace Freely, Freelance Security Consultant.' Sebastian's side identity had a security job he was recruiting help on. A newly built race track was having problems with saboteurs, and given the size of the premises, he needed extra people who knew how to handle a vehicle to help out (plus, getting to break in the brand new race track was a bonus for doing the job successfully). The way that the team almost immediately gelled together made him realize that it'd be fun to work with you all more often, and given everyone's fondness for vehicles and speed, putting together a real team would be a big step up from back street racing. Word filtered through the team that was already assembled that they were looking for racers, and that brought in the rest of you. The name came up one day during lunch, when, in the middle of a heated discussion about what the name should be, someone who's attention had drifted took a bite of their food and declared, "Mmm-mmm! Nothing beats egg salad sandwich." Meeting Sebstian in person was a little bit strange. It was easy to understand why he used the voice filter over the radio: it was a little bit hard to take a guy who looked like a 12 year old kid seriously, but with the tactical and racing expertise he'd demonstrated on the race course, you all knew that it'd be a mistake to judge him on looks alone.

We need to come up with some standard operating procedures. (and some fire extinguishers, I don’t recall seeing any listed) Knobby Bob is a ganger, probably the lowest common denominator – not well educated but street-wise, and a survivor. (well, maybe not compared to Sebastian – jeez. I mean. Like Bug City, you know?) And speaking of people’s backstories, how much do the characters know about each other. For example, if you asked Knobby Bob about his past, he’d respond with something like “Whah arh you, mah sochialh workerh?” (To get the accent, place a thumb and forefinger in mouth, at the corners of the lips – angle upwards to resemble tusks, and speak. Try in front of a mirror to see how silly you look trying to get in character.) Now, after a few rounds of synthahol, he might open up somewhat, but the whole background, no way. Now I’ll assume that Knobby Bob has decided that falling in line with this ‘gang’ has advantages, and so has spent some effort/nuyen into cleaning up, buying some new clothes and a team jumpsuit, etc. – but I just wouldn’t be roleplaying well if he didn’t spew the first time he drank real coffee. Someone is obviously trying to poison him. He gets creeped by Maeva; she’s different than anything he’s dealt with before so it might take some time for him to trust her. He would most likely be creeped by Sebastian also, simply because when Sebastian is ‘in’ it reminds K-Bob of chipheads – and who, in K-Bob’s experience, would want to surrender themselves to a machine like that? These are all things that will factor into the character’s growth. I look forward to playing, and hope it doesn’t make my grades slip.

I'm just here to direct the flow of action, and settle any rule discrepancies, aside from that this is more your game than mine. besides one of the few times I did get to participate in a run as a runner the GM decided I dropped my motorcycle because I didn't announce I put my kickstand down. One of my pet peeves aside from power gamers are people who nit pick, so if we all can take a relaxed and fun minded approach to this run nothing unless your smoking next to an NO2 bottle should for no reason burst into flames. lol

Oh, good. I was worried that you might have K-Bob run around barefoot because I forgot to put combat boots on the sheet – everyone KNOWS that ork go-gangers always wear combat boots. (and die with their boots on, but that’s another story!)

All he would ask of K-bob is that when he hangs out with the team, he remembers to wear pants. And Kiedo, how are we supposed to follow up that first post? Do we know that Dek was going out racing, or is there going to be a followup where we learn that he's dead? I'm just a little at a loss about where we pick up.

Besides all of them involving racing somewhere at some point, they seem to have little in common. If pressed, she'll gesture towards the jet-propelled car she's got parked in a corner and offer to drag-race you for an honest answer as soon as she's installed an extra afterburner. Which would likely be enough for the vehicle to outrun a suborbital, if past performances are anything to go by. Whoop, we're off!

As a refresher and FYI, the ‘King’ is King (Kong) – the leader of K-Bob’s old gang. ‘Ol Mary is the momma bear (Bear Shaman, that is) to that gang. Should we hold up for those who haven’t had time to post? It might be a good time since those of us without hearing mods are unaware of the details of fan-belt’s call. Kiedo – I’d like a separate roll for what K-Bob knows about the Lightning Riders. It might be a good idea for everyone with gang knowledge to roll – might turn up different information that we can share while deciding how to respond to this threat. Oh, yeah – I am the one who suggested SOP, so I guess I’ll fill in some of K-Bob’s: The hack (sidecar) is for cargo only. I have personal experience riding a cruiser with all my worldly possessions strapped down to it – that’s why I ride a Gold Wing now :love: – digging through a duffle bag to find anything is no fun. (I bathed more than once a month back then, BTW) So, most of what K-Bob owns will be locked in the hack, which will be secured as well as possible to whatever squat he’s living at. Currently this seems to be a garage at E.S.S. headquarters – presumably on or near the [ EDIT ] "A newly built race track" [ /EDIT ] Tacoma Speedway. More as the thread develops…

Almost all tools are in the cargo section of the truck, but have to be setup to be of any use, which is usually only at the track for the vehicle shop or at the garage for the weapon shop. Like every mechanic I've ever known IRL, there are a few random pornographic images tacked up on various surfaces, nothing too extreme, more obligatory naughty auto-parts calendar type stuff. All running tools are in either the combat vest or the rucksack, with the Alpha nearby, stowed in a case most likely. The protector is next to the driver's seat in easy reach and in breifcase trappings. Luis has an apartment not too far from the garage most likely with a view of the HQ. I hope we will have basic vehicle trailers for hauling the more racing centric vehicles that aren't likely to be anything resembling street legal, even by 2064 standards (cough-turbine car-cough), if so, he likely hauls it and the driver rides shotgun as this would help promote the image of the assisstant mechanic image.

There are a few people who look like they fit in a little too well, but they look more like vice squad the gangers. Thomas: Feel free to roll your own test or anybody else who wants to for that matter. Nikoli: you have, "out back", a few busted up trailers that have accumulated over time with maybe an hours work they'd be road worthy again(just basic repairs patch a wire, reweld a bracket, nothing that would need to be rolled for asuming Luis did it).
