This is the Downtime Disccussion Thread for my Group at Game Theory. I would ask that my Non-Players do not post to this thread.

1. What Mods are being put on the plane, and who is putting them on? I know that you are putting on an Expanded Sensor Array, and moving the Missile Defense System from the Citymaster

2. Modding Weapons- I know you were doing some of that, building automated Sniper Turrets. Anything Else?

I'm pretty sure that between me and Mr. Weaponmaster, we can handle any of the vehicle/weapon mods.

By the way, while I'm busy making rating 6 vehicle sensors, which vehicle is higher priority - the citymaster or the skytrain?

as well as 2 silencers
and if im not mistkaen our code monkey cluster was working on improved pilot software(wont be done for a while)

1X phalanx vogeljager (22F 8750) pg 31 arsenal
3X AV missles (rating 5 sensors) 3500 each 25F

from what i heard we had a weapons dealer contact but the costs would be increased 20% or something along those lines as well as a large delay in procuring them

Yeah- To Buy Item on the Black-Market
QUOTE
If a character wishes to purchase a controlled item on the black market, make a Negotiation + Charisma Extended Test
with a threshold equal to the Availability and an interval based on the item’s cost (see the Availability Interval table, p. 303).

With a Black Market Contact, You can use his connection instead of Negotiation .

Since you are looking for Milspec stuff, there is 50% markup due to LS crackdown.

Also, since we're doing lots of extended test type stuff, I'm going to ask the mage (can't remember character name at the moment) to summon a spirit to put Guard on us - no glitches makes rushing a job much easier.

I don't have a list, unfortunately.

However, the Skytrain has a Non-Concealed Light Autocannon, while the roadmaster have a hidded mini-gun, and a Pain inducer.

We already have a ton of (poorly) forged credsticks from that last run in Hong Kong. I thought the plan was to systematically launder them through low-rating transactions like stuffer shack purchases, then use the money to put a bounty on the jackass Yakuza boss who set us up?

Not to rip off ATHF (or admit that I've watched it), but I still want to be eating my cereal out of that guy's f--king skull.

As for weapons, a little late, but here's the specs for my latest dronegun, for the rest of the board's amusement and horror:

Final Stats:

Ingram Supermach 100
Slots: 0
Concealability: +5
Recoil Compensation: 5 (6) [6 (7) if the Lanyard give recoil comp]
Ammo: 40 or 60 ©
Availability: 20F
Cost: 34,210Â¥

This is from my original notes, I can't recall if we were able to copy that rating 6 Targeting Autosoft or not. Think we did. Also, I traded in my one of my old droneguns to help cover the costs/parts needed. Working on getting my comlink/programs upgraded with the money we got.

For those unfamiliar: "Melee Foregrip" is a GM okayed tweak on the foregrip mod. Replaces the guns original grip with a forward-mounted one that allows you to punch people while holding the gun, instead of providing recoil comp. Trigger Removal and the houseruled "Trigger Replacement" cover moving the trigger to it's new location.

The concept:

The gun's pilot is programed to interface with my character's smartlinked glasses, subvocal mic, and the shock frills on my armor via skinlink, as well as the team's tacnet. If my shock frills discharge, the drone gun fires, shooting along the line of my fist and hitting the person I just punched. Alternately, I can designate a target via subvocalized voice command and casually sweep the arm carrying the dronegun towards and past the target. The pilot interfaces with the data from my glasses, and at the moment the image in the smartgun's camera matches the target image in my glasses, it fires.

Essentially the gun waits for it's shot and then takes it, as if it were the target/scene moving through it's field of vision while it remained stationary. It's like waiting for a guy to step out from behind cover.

The result? My character can walk into a room and wave his arms around like Chow-Yun Fat dual-wielding pistols in a Hong Kong action flick, and the guns will fire themselves whenever they move over the designated targets. The best part is that the drone guns have a higher dicepool than me, and with the new one, I don't even have the right skill to fire it manually.

Lets just hope this little innovation never catches on, or you'll have untrained security grunts shooting holes in you with droneguns. Thankfully it's not very cost-effective, the only real advantage over actual drones is that there's no wireless signal to hack, and it's fragging cool...

...downsides are the guns can't take aim, and the recoil affects my actions as well. That's why I always take my actions first. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I'll probably see you today before you read this, but here's what I'm doing with all that nuyen we got. (Should've saved more, but oh well.)

1) Upgrading the Autosofts on all my droneguns to 6

2) Regarding the briefcase for my Drone-SMG:

Smart Firing Platform: Availability 12F 2,000Â¥
Briefcase Disguise (-6) Availability 12 10,000Â¥
Skinlink Availability 6 50Â¥

Basically it's a briefcase-shaped docking port for the SMG. You plug the gun in and relay commands through the case's handle via skinlink, while the case acts as a motorized turret, allowing the gun to orient and aim on it's own like a smart firing platform. You could also set it down on a counter somewhere and let it go to town. I really should get a suppressor when I have the money, so it can shoot people without anyone noticing...

Also, I want to sell off the pilot and autosofts the smart firing platform comes with, and instead have it upload and use the gun's rating 6 software.

3) Stats for my new Drone-Grenade Launcher:

ArmTech MGL12 2,000Â¥
Chameleon Coating 1,000Â¥
External Smartgun System 400Â¥
Vision Enhancement (3) 300Â¥
Vision Magnification 100Â¥
Pilot Upgrade, Rtg 6 15,000Â¥
Clearsight Autosoft, Rtg 6 3,000Â¥
Targeting Autosoft, Rtg 6 3,000Â¥
Extreme Environment Mod (2) 6,000Â¥
Sling 10Â¥

-Ammo-

HE Grenade Clip (12c) 545Â¥
Freeze Foam 6 Grenades (12c) 533Â¥
DMSO/Narcoject Grenades (11c) 965Â¥

Decided on Narcoject over Gamma Scop due to the 400% price difference. Marked off the grenade I used in the Fallout dimension.

4) Regarding the EvoHEL suit:

It didn't occur to me at the time, but my ruthenium overcoat wouldn't have worked if I had this over top of it, so I modded the overcoat and my form-fitting armor to have the mods the HEL suit would have given:

Chemical Protection (2) 500Â¥
Insulation (4) 600Â¥
Radiation Shield (3) 600Â¥

Sorry for the retcons, but we did rush out without taking the time to finalize gear selection. I made sure the mechanics of what I got fit with everything I did out there, so the difference is minimal.

On that note:

Monofilament Chainsaw 300Â¥

I figured this cost in as well. Also bumped my Fake SINs and licenses up from 4 to 6. Would have done this a while back, just been behind on figuring costs between runs--it's been a busy couple months.

Finally, I've worked out a better picture of my armor and how it works together:

There's the form-fitting half-suit, which has the insulation and radiation shield mods.
Over that is my custom jumpsuit, with fire resistance, nonconductivity, and my tweaked out shock frills.

I never liked the mental image of shock frills being "fur", and as I recall the explanation we decided on for why they do more damage than regular shock gloves was that a bigger item could store a bigger power source, so I'd like to fluff them out as being more like electrified brass knuckles with power cables running back up the inside of the sleeve. I added "personalized grip" to the list of mods on the shockfrills to help represent this.

As for the never-described ruthenium item I got in Hawaii, I picture it as a long coat with separate gloves, shoes, and a hood, so it covers the whole body. In social situations I'd set the hood do display a face as though I wasn't wearing anything over my head, while the shoes, gloves, and coat would take the appearance of regular clothing.

The sweet thing about this is I can use the ruthenium as a disguise to change the appearance of what I'm wearing and what the "face" I'm displaying looks like.

QUOTE (hyzmarca @ Dec 20 2008, 11:17 AM) *
The UCAS Air Force detects and shoots down Santa. A large chunk of his sleigh, including his bag of toys and a list detailing where they should be delivered, crashes into the PCs' hideout. The place stinks of burning reindeer flesh and the Metroplex Guard is immediately dispatched to the crash site, so the PCs have no choice but to abandon their safehouse. The GM should strongly encourage them to take the bag and the list with them, preferably delivering the toys to children around Seattle.

Santa himself is nowhere to be found. Before his sleigh went down, he jumped off and landed on one of the fighters that shot him down, driving his claymore weapon focus though the cockpit and killing the pilot before setting the drone autopilot to crash into the White House at Mach 3 and vanishing. The PCs are made aware of this via newsfeeds depicting the carnage; President Colloton was offsite at the time of the impact, but most of her staff died in the attack.

Some point later in the session a news report from the PCs' former safehouse shows a couple dozen Metroplex Guard members with their chests torn open and their internal organs ripped out and replaced with coal. There is no actual footage of the slaughter and authorities remain unaware of what actually did it, though forensic specialists are being called it.

The actual killer is the motherfragging Krampus, who has been unleashed to retrieve Santa's toybag and ensure its contents get delivered. It is an absurdly strong faerie creature (treat as a spirit without an Astral Form and with the ability to move bodily to the metaplanes or from with a single complex action). It wields a birch rod to punish the naughty (does stun that cannot overflow) and has sharp claws to punish the wicked (does physical damage).

The Krampus will eventually catch up with the PCs no matter what they do. If they are attempting to relieved the toys then the Krampus will be on their side, protecting them from any threat with its life. If they are not, however, the Krampus will attempt to kill them. If they dumped the toybag at some point it will try to capture a PC to interrogate.

When the night is over Santa himself will show up. If the PCs delievered the toys then Santa will present them with toys of their own, expensive high-availability weapons and equipment tailored specifically for them, possibly including things like heavy weapons, portable anti-tank missile launchers, maxed-out comlnks, milspec armor, 'ware, high-rating foci, and etc. One per character. If they chose to be greedy and were forced to kill the Krampus in self-defense, then they'll fight Santa instead, and he'll wield those very same toys against them.

this run is so what we need to do when Tom is back from Connecticut

Hey, kinda off topic, but this is easier that PMing everyone individually:

I still need to sign up for the winter mini to run that DBZ game again, who's going to be there and what day would be best? I've got a great one-shot campaign in the works--significantly more organized than last time, but still with plenty of multi-hundred-dicepool ki-blasting madness. (And a decent chance of hitting the "Over Nine-Thousand!" trope. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) Also worked up an auto-calculating character sheet in excel to speed up chargen.

It runs from Friday the 16th to Monday the 19th, so let me know when would be a good day.

Also, when are we going to start our regular Shadowrun and Cthulhu Tech games again?

PS: I'm toying with the notion of making this an ongoing campaign, and just bringing it out at each of the events and whatnot. Don't think I have enough of a social life left to make it a more regular game, but it'd be interesting to pick it up where we left off each time...

Also, on a completely Unrelated note
