Ack, this time already? Here is Tamarind's sheet, with karma thoroughly (if somewhat randomly) spent. Only added one purchase, a new drone, Kaa.
(Been a bit longer than I expected getting back here -- our 17 year old cat has had increasing issues for years but the end finally arrived today, and it took a bunch of time and focus for the past five or so days. The path of totality for the eclipse was only an hour from us, but I ended up not making the drive, that morning I booked the euthanasia appointment and ended up spending the afternoon with our cat instead. Sad she is gone, but it has also been a tiring journey so looking forward to having more schedule flexibility) |

Sorry this got so long, I know that is a pain to read. I hadn't been in the mood for writing in so long and suddenly it was flowing, so I just went with it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Quite the opposite, I would say. I'm happy that this could provide you with a bit of inspiration. All the little stories were fun to read. Thank you! QUOTE Bobby, do you want to get scanned or just fly over the border That is something that might also cause some problems. If Bobby flies in without the scan, he is - effectively - not in the city. So, he needs to avoid being scanned anywhere for the whole stay (not impossible, certainly, but maybe limiting). Bye Thanee |

I thought that might be the case, but perhaps it won't matter much if we're off at the ranch.
Of course, following the trail might lead us to the urban parts of the city. I'm sure Jack will have a plan. |

Yeah, starting out, Bobby would have gone for the risky smuggling. By now he knows that it's much more convenient to work with materials at hand and bribe officials when the dust has settled.
The problem is more that we have a hard time limit. |

@Thanee AM would perform a trix search about the legality of ally spirits. Ally spirits are summoned and bound just like any other spirit (plus some extra steps, obviously), I wouldn't trust Ghostwalker to make an exception for those. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Creating Watchers or Homunculi is fine, though. Bye Thanee |

Well they are constructed like watchers, I think. There wasn't a Trouble spirit out there before AM created it, but I don't contest them being illegal.

Well they are constructed like watchers, I think. There wasn't a Trouble spirit out there before AM created it, but I don't contest them being illegal. The Ally Conjuration ritual works exactly like Summoning and Binding (see Street Grimoire p. 200-202). QUOTE CONJURING AN ALLY The ritual for summoning an ally must be performed in a magical lodge with a Force at least equal to the ally being summoned. Follow summoning rules (p. 300, SR5). Immediately after summoning, the spirit must be bound using standard binding rules (p. 300, SR5). Calculate Drain as if summoning and binding a spirit of the ally’s Force. Now - obviously - Trouble must have been created differently (because, otherwise AM wouldn't even be able to do that), but in the end the result is still the same (or should be), meaning, Trouble is a spirit that is bound to AM (and can perform bound spirit services and so on). I doubt that the "inquisition" in Denver would consider the nuances here, as that is clearly not how it normally works. Or in other words... it is probably not worth the risk of finding out how they would react to that. Bye Thanee |

Indeed, from the viewpoint GW is espousing, an ally is enslaved for life, not just hours or weeks, so arguably a worse offense (if you don't allow that the spirit may have agency in the agreement)

Its alright, Trouble would seat this one out. It may vary by GM, but my understanding (based on things in the 5e and 6e Denver adventures) is that there is no "detect summoned spirit" field running. Rather it is more like possessing a illegal firearm. If you are careless enough to get spotted with it, someone may report it to people who could do something about it, if you use it in the process of committing a crime the response is apt to be more harsh, and if you are caught with it you will face additional charges (very serious charges in this case). BUT the thing about an ally spirit is that they can hang out elsewhere and be called to you quickly if you need them. Let Trouble have fun exploring the mountains (on one side of the border or other and find some places where there is good cover for astral travel (dense forest or bush, for example). Then if AM really needs Trouble, she calls them. Just don't have Trouble around all of the time. That said, between spells and hacking, AM can do lots already! And if she can set up a temporary lodge she could even conjure Watcher spirits for the purposes of astral scouting. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) 2 hits on an Assensing test will tell an observer that Trouble is an ally spirit, though, which is the biggest risk here, probably. Bye Thanee |

Yeah, it's a risk-reward calculation. Trouble is certainly helpful, but he is also a liability in this instance.
Ghostwalker has a strong affinity with the spirits of Denver. We should assume than any astral entities are aligned with his interests, which includes reporting the presence of any non-free spirits. I agree that AM is quite capable even without Trouble. |

You still need to decide on that smuggling compartment, whether you want to have it or not. It is illegal, but well-hidden, obviously. Could help move some things across district borders inside Denver as well, if there is a need for that. You should also list the relevant gear you want to take with you (no need to list every small, legal item; you can assume that you have those on you, as long as they are easily carried or worn) and which SIN you are using, of course. Do you want to take Raven's alchemy with you? Who will take what? She has two Atomizers for the Increase Reflexes spell. The rest are wrapped-up bonbons, as usual, color/taste-coded for the spells and with some marks to know which are the ones with the higher potency. I thought Ghostwalker took down all the sector borders. Since the UCAS, CAS, PCC, etc. have been kicked out, it's all Ghostwalker's fiefdom now with no need for borders. I think the sectors still exist as political districts, but I'm pretty sure the sector borders are gone. I suppose they could have left the sensor network in place so maybe we have to be mindful of those scans. We'll start off in the old Sioux sector. The smuggling compartment sounds like a good idea but, again, there's the risk-reward. I'm not too concerned about the risk, but what's the potential reward (i.e. what would we be putting in it)? Tamarind's drones are mostly for surveillance and recon; they're not gunships so there's not much objectionable about them. We already have a way for the cyberdeck to enter. The preparations are mostly Detection/Health/Illusion (in other words, not Combat) so I'm not sure those are contraband, unless there's a sense that they're Restricted because foci and formulae are. But spellcasting isn't Restricted by default, so why would alchemical preparations be? Mato could put his rifle in the smuggling compartment, but to me it seems optional. I suppose a smuggling compartment might be nice on the way back, in case we're bringing anything with us. Should we see if Razak can get us a Bulldog so we can bring Toothless along? Or a Roadmaster, ha. |

I thought Ghostwalker took down all the sector borders. Yes, he did! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Talking about the "new" (not really new) 19 districts of Denver. These are called "semi-autonomous", and there are checks (automated) taking place between them (but, considering, this is all fairly new still, you don't have to expect any sophisticated security measures there; they are focusing on the outside borders first, obviously). QUOTE The preparations are mostly Detection/Health/Illusion (in other words, not Combat) so I'm not sure those are contraband, unless there's a sense that they're Restricted because foci and formulae are. But spellcasting isn't Restricted by default, so why would alchemical preparations be? If anything would be restricted, it would be Combat/Manipulation (like in SR4A the fetishes for those categories were restricted, and the others were not), and the only Manipulation spell there is Gecko Crawl. So, yeah, those should be fully legal. QUOTE so we can bring Toothless along? You can bring Toothless along. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Bye Thanee |

This is in relation to my 2nd last post, about traveling with a fake ID because it has licenses.
There are no rules, so far as I know, for getting licenses for a valid SIN! Presuably she could have weapons permits, and even a private detectives license or drone security license or something, but there are only rules for attaching those to fake IDs. Hence why she is on her fake ID. Also, I had not invested in a license for every restricted item. Now I'm wondering if she should be having one to cover her RCC in particular (an expensive restriced piece of gear), and what license that would be? |

The first sentence of fake licences pretty much sums it up, I think.
QUOTE Fake license: For those who can’t or won’t go through the standard legal channels, fake licenses are available for all kinds of restricted items and activities. This kind of implies that there are legal channels to get licenses. So, as long as it makes sense (for someone working at a security company), a legal license should be available (probably costs some sort of fee, but that would be pretty neglectable and therefore be covered by your monthly costs of living, I suppose). QUOTE Items with no letter next to their availability don’t require licenses. Items that are Forbidden have no license available. Licenses, therefore, are for Restricted items. Each type of item/activity permission requires a separate license. Things that require licenses include hunting (bow and rifle), possession of a firearm, concealed carry of a firearm (separate license), spellcasting, and any Restricted gear or augmentations, etc. As for fake licenses, that has always been quite vague. I would probably just go with something like "RCC license" or "rigging license" for this type of thing. Bye Thanee |

Thank you Thanee! I've added the firing platforms to the SIS resources listed on our Redmond HQ page on Obsidian Portal. (Those were team purchases, and will be available when Tamarind is away. And I assume that we stash them somewhere fairly hidden in our Redmond offices rather than in the house -- if others would rather have them in the house I can move the notes over to the Bellevue location). Any anyway, not trying to take those into the FRFZ!
I've put the RCC from Texas on Tamarind's sheet, along with the software that came with it. Then I put her old RCC onto the HQ page, just after the firing platforms. She already had the Encryption program and the new one came with that, so I've said that extra copy is loaded on the spare RCC. But looking through there is a good reminder, we should take along our high end camera. Never know when it might be useful. |

To answer Mato's question off play:
The Duchess likes the book, because you can read it again and again and find things you missed before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (That and I was looking for a culturally significant book for a Spanish noble woman) |

I haven't read the book my understanding is that lots of little stories add up to one big story, similar to how a hive of bees is composed of many individuals that form a greater collective.
Mato would wonder about the appeal to a woman who was already the Duchess of Sevilla even prior to her engagement to his Lordship, Sir Thomas Pike. Mato might speculate about the allure of a life of relative anonymity to a person like that, i.e. to just be one of the bees. Perhaps there is no interest, but it is interesting to think about. As an aside, I really liked the Duchess' full name: Maria Josefina Isabela Marta Alfonsa Elena Ludovica Carlotta de Borbón y Parade. I'm pretty sure I cribbed it and used it in a different game a few years back. https://www.rpgplayroom.net/rooms/the-found...a-chapter-6-ic/ |

I finally updated Tamarind's character sheet.
One new purchase: Kaa, a Festo Sewer Snake drone (rigger 5, pg 132) with upgraded pilot and sensor (could add a taser or something in the future, or technically even a drone arm? But later). She's still sitting on over 80knY but I'm just not inspired to figure out what rating of items at what cost in what timeline she could have aquired, and compromised on one new drone without worrying about all of that. Going by the table in Coyotes p. 8, I would say this transport costs 10,000¥. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Two border crossings with 4 individuals (no trolls) and about 200 kg of cargo (guesstimate) -> 500¥ each About 2,000 km overland travel distance -> 4,000¥ "No questions asked" cargo or personnel -> 5,000¥ Risk Multiplier -> 1.0 (Normal) There might be an extra fee for the short notice and lack of preparation time. Ahh, Coyotes. I get to use it, oh, every-other year or so. But when I need it I'm glad that it's there.
That sounds like a good number. I bet Blackhawk gives a discount, perhaps offsetting the short notice, for a fun job. |

QUOTE He doesn't like sitting sideways and how the forces of acceleration were concentrated on a smaller surface area. While I had the same image of every military cargo plane or APV in any movie ever in mind, I don't really think the seats will be sideways, but rather angled towards the front. With the speed these things are going, they pretty much have to, I think. I made the seats able to rotate between two positions now. They can be sideways, so the passengers can face each other, or towards the front. That sounds like a good feature. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The Black Sunshine is heavily customized, though, so maybe that is not a standard feature. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Bye Thanee |

I'd missed spending the 30 knowledge karma from the last run, but have added that into Tamarind's character sheet now (nothing impactful here, other than maybe Sioux Sign Language for while on the Banshee. Basically bumped a lot of things by 1 point, and picked up Seattle Politics at 2).

Yep. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
You are moving at something like 300m/s, so even with extended range, you are moving out of range really fast. It's not a serious problem or anything like that, just a bit annoying. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Bye Thanee |

I reread the post and got it now. Thanks for answering anyway.
I had never tried to peek through an airplane before with this spell, and all the previous times I used in SR, I was stationary. |

Razak is a ki adept as well - second lvl. Initiate with a strong focus on guns and stealth. A classic sharpshooter - favors revolvers and burst capable precision rifles.
He is in his late fourties, but healthy and energetic enough to appear 10 years younger. His hair is black and always close cropped. His face is sunburned and a bunch of small scars mar his left side where he had a near fatal encounter with a mountain lion. If you assense him you usually find him assessing right back. |

For what it's worth, I didn't know any of that either. This is the first time we've met Razak ICly. It's kinda cool that it's finally happening.

Well I'm sure we've met him in-world before - Bobby and Tamarind for certain - but it's never come up in an IC thread until now. Up to this point he's only been on comms, tossing work to us occasionally.
I actually don't have a super-solid story about how Mato hit Razak's radar. Probably some of the Wildcats training Mato gave Razak a head's up that there was some rich kid with more cyber than sense floating around, and could he make use of a tool like that? Razak probably considered him disposable asset and sent him to Seattle to if it would work out. Mato likely thought that sounded like good fun. |

I don't think AM knows how, why, or if Razak actually found her. She arrived independently in Seattle on a Mafia loan for travel expenses and a cyberdeck. However, there is a possible angle because she does have a Wildcat in her backstory - the "evil" brother who wanted her out of the family.

She was engaged to be married, but his family didn't like it; the Wildcat brother did an intervention, beating the poor guy up right in front of her. Marridge canceled.
She has half brothers and sisters from her dad's side, which she stocks online from time to time, never actually making contact, but I never actually defined them. She has never met any of them as the product of an out-of-marriage affair. |

No wonder Razak never made an appearance: It's Bobby's contact that I created. Whenever I GMed I used contacts from the other players (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
It's really interested to see how different the team feels about him though. For Bobby he was a savior and a bit of a father figure. For Tamarind he was more like a jailer and parole officer. |

I just read my message and figured out I might have messed up the story. AM fiance's brother prevented the marridge. Perhaps because she follows Iktomi, perhaps because she is a bastard. She is an only child to her mother.

At the moment, you are about 1,000 meters away, so you still need some time to get closer. I don't think the mountain lion will be able to match the Gopher's speed, even with sprinting.
The Gopher is pretty agile with Handling 6/6 Speed 5 Acceleration 3 and can cover 160 meters per turn. Vehicle Speed in SR5 is overall pretty weird. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) So, we'll just make up some rules here to keep things interesting. You have 5 Combat Turns to get there, before the Piasmas have found their prey and enter the building. The driver (Tamarind is currently in the driver's seat) can use additional actions (beyond the one action needed to control the vehicle every turn) to sprint with +10m/turn per hit. So, you need an average of 4 hits for each of the 5 turns to make it (or 20 hits in total). The Limit for these tests is 5 (the Speed of the vehicle); Edge can break the Limit as usual; you might have some Qualities that also apply here. Assuming that you manage to cover the 1,000 meters by then, we will begin actual Combat Turns (with initiative) with the start of Turn 6 (you can go ahead and roll those, already, in preparation). Tamarind can roll initiative for the previous 5 Combat Turns, but unless you have something to alter your initiative values (like Jazz (if that is on hand), one of Raven's Increase Reflexes preparations, or Edge) you will end up between 14 and 19, or 2 actions per turn, no need to roll for that (only the number of actions matters during the first 5 turns). Those who are not driving, can spend the 5 Combat Turns to prepare, if there is anything you can and want to do, or come up with a way to distract the Piasmas and slow them down from the distance (the mountain lion will definitely work once you are close, but not from hundreds of meters away). Remember Raven's Combat Sense preparations, if you feel like some extra protection might be useful here. I'm assuming, that Bobby will manage to climb through the back window (that one can be opened) into the back of the truck, so he can jump off at any point. As for your weapons, the ones that are in the smuggling compartment won't be accessible while the truck is moving. Once it stops, opening the compartment takes one full Combat Turn. After that, the content is freely accessible. At the beginning of Turn 6, you can decelerate (technically, you will start to decelerate a little earlier, but let's not make things too complicated). This is not quite as easy as accelerating, especially since you want to drive fast and break hard. You can decelerate by 1 Speed Rating per hit on a vehicle test with a limit of 3 (the Acceleration of the vehicle). You can spend Edge here to break the limit and be able to get down to 0 within a single Combat Turn (getting down to Speed 2-3 should be good enough, though); you might have some Qualities that also apply here. At this point (i.e. once the deceleration happens at Tamarind's initiative in Combat Turn 6), people can jump off the truck (you can also do that earlier, but then you are pretty far away still). This requires 1 + Speed (after the decelaration test) hits on a Gymnastics test to avoid harm. Of course, AM could also use Levitate. Bye Thanee |

Tamarind will activate her Gearhead quality to increase the truck's speed by 20%.
(an aside that I think Gearhead is the only thing in all of 5e that applies a percent speed modifier -- hold over from a previous edition?) Also the speed table in 5e is messed up beyond all belief, somewhere online there is one that was supposed to be released in R5 but got cut, which makes much more sense. Maybe I'll find it and stick it in Tamarind's character sheet or something. ================================ Mato could maybe jump out earlier and activate his skimmers while holding on, and skim along with the truck until he wants to launch himself off (should he wish, i don't know that it makes sense, just a thought. Inspired by my Father's stories of 'bunking' home from school on the snow packed streets of Winnipeg by grabbing onto the back bumper of a bus and crouching down, riding in the heels of his boots. Skimmers would be far better!) |

One kilometer? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif)
I'd have a hard time to make out anything at that distance. https://pyrophilios.files.wordpress.com/202...1_172659469.png Take a look here. The first building on the right is 800 m away - a four story building. Even at 120 km/h we'd need 30 seconds to get there - no breaking included - which is 10 rounds 400m to recognize what's going on without vision enhancement would be more appropriate. |

AM's action would be to petrify the people so they are not eaten. Can AM tell their meta type? For, if one of them is a troll, she may overcast the petrifying spell.
Petrify + help: 2#22d6t5 5 9 Say F6 for a human or F8 if she is uncertain, and F10 for a troll. (force needs to be higher or equal to body). I doubt F10 which is her maximum would be enough for a massive bear. So she would not even try that. Drain: 11d6t5 7 Drain: 11d6t5 5 she'll take no drain. |

OK, whether it is five turns or ten turns originally, we should be cutting that down by a sixth from the 20% speed boost with Gearhead.
Then she is trying to get the truck to go faster, one action each turn, I'll put up 8 rolls just to be sure (reactions 8, pilot 6, +1 from Vehicle Empathy): https://orokos.com/roll/1008550# which is 8#15d6t5: 8 # 8 [15d6t5=1, 6, 1, 5, 1, 4, 5, 6, 3, 5, 5, 3, 5, 6, 4] 7 [15d6t5=6, 2, 3, 6, 5, 6, 2, 3, 3, 5, 6, 2, 6, 2, 4] 3 [15d6t5=1, 5, 3, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 4, 1, 2, 6, 2, 6] 5 [15d6t5=5, 1, 3, 5, 2, 6, 1, 4, 6, 3, 2, 5, 1, 3, 2] 3 [15d6t5=5, 2, 6, 4, 2, 4, 3, 2, 6, 2, 2, 3, 1, 4, 4] 5 [15d6t5=5, 4, 5, 1, 3, 2, 5, 1, 2, 2, 2, 6, 3, 3, 6] 5 [15d6t5=5, 4, 1, 5, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 6, 6, 6, 2, 4, 2] 7 [15d6t5=4, 5, 1, 2, 5, 1, 5, 6, 6, 1, 6, 1, 3, 4, 6] 8 7 3 5 (7 ones! not a glitch, but I was getting worried while counting) 3 5 5 7 At the last moment that she thinks she can handle it she'll go for a drifting stop (like in the movies, where the truck ends up perpendicular to its original direction of travel). This is a stunt to decelerate faster than braking could normally manage. I'm not sure if this is a speed limit or a handling limit? (my guess would be handling, but you could argue that things dealing with high speeds would have a handling limit, I'm fine either way). Truck has base 5 handling (both on and off road) and 4 speed, but both have been upgraded by one (so 6 and 5), and vehicle empathy adds one more to the handling limit (so handling 7, speed 5). But then again, let's just pre-edge to get rid of the limit and add more successes, because I've not had an opportunity for Tam to really do anything fun with driving yet! Doing this move on a motorbike would have a difficulty of 3, doing it in a pick-up truck will certainly be bumped up into the "extreme" category with threshold of "4+". Exactly how high is up to Thanee. (also if there are additional modifiers for trying not to hit the 'bears') Finally, while Gearhead is active she also has +2 dice for difficult stunts, pushing her pool to 17 dice, +4 for pre-edge =21. Drifting sideways stop in a Gopher: 21d6h5 8 That should do it, so when we reach that point either I'll IC the stop or someone else can describe it rather than waiting on me. |

Does AM have any sort of optical magnification (like binoculars)? Otherwise, you need to get a bit closer before you can actually see the two people (without electronic help) to cast the spells on them (but totally doable before the Piasmas reach them). Away from a computer for most of the day but I'm enjoying reading the mechanics.
I laughed at Razak's exchange with Bobby. Where does Bobby get the fifth initiative die from? I'm getting rusty and forgot. Between vision magnification and vision enhancement, Mato should be able to see what's happening. Vision mag is 50x, so the action will appear to be 20 meters away. (No idea about image stabilization, especially in a moving vehicle. GM call.) Cybereyes include a built-in camera so he would be able to relay the feed to everyone else. Mato is not currently planning to jump out while the vehicle is moving. He's not feeling a sense of urgency over rescuing the randos. |

There's a bounty on Piasma heads to be had - should you need some motivation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Haha! I just posted the same thing in the IC. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Still a little unsure about how much of a bounty that would be... there are no official details about this, or are there? I found a post on reddit, where someone made up bounties for just about anything. They had them at 20k each (which seems a bit much, to be honest; but on the other hand, these things are quite dangerous and can cause a lot more than that in damage). Bye Thanee |

Nope, just contacts with thermographic vision, flare compensation, and polychromatic lenses none of which seems like to impact the current situation. No problem. You got them during the drive, just a bit later then (which might actually not be so bad, to wait until they are fully inside the building). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Bye Thanee |

First time in four sessions I actually get to go all out with my oversized magic attribute. Gotta have some fun here and there, right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Bye Thanee |

The Piasma has 3 more dice for damage resistance (Toughness (3)), which is 1 more hit.
The Piasma also has Edge, and will use it to re-roll missed hits on the damage resistance, of course. That adds 4 more hits. So, not down quite yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Bye Thanee |

Huh?
Damn, you are right - I was remembering Elemental Aura instead of Body The -2 was also a mistake (or wishful thinking) - but to be fair, this is the first SR combat I'm rolling in two years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/embarrassed.gif) But all in all nothing that a second strike can't fix. I think, I'll go for a counterstrike maneuver when the bear hits back |

But all in all nothing that a second strike can't fix. Yeah, it will also hurt itself if it hits you (which it probably won't but you never know). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Bye Thanee P.S. We still need the initiative values from Mato and Tamarind. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

1) I found some characters updates from a previous chapter that I'd not rolled into derived stats and dice pools (inutiion 5>6, and Lightning Reflexes). So her init is 15+2d6
2) Init roll: init: 15+2d6 18 First roll with the higher init, and I roll 3 on 2d6? Maybe she just isn't used to how quickly she could be reacting? 3) When it gets to her pass she'll tell the "Aunty" (Flying Eye) that is the drone carrier to launch -- but I'm not clear what type of action that is? |

Here it is: Initiative: 1d6+16 20
Mato gets to use his new Reaction Optimization geneware. Mato fired a gun once back in Chapter 6. I think that was the first and last time. Actually, no, he fired a second shot back in Chapter 10. (Both Jack's chapters... hmm.) But that shot was superfluous and I don't think it accomplished anything that wasn't already on the verge of completion. I think he shot Victoria's car, which was about to stop anyway. I don't think Mato has ever (ICly) fired the guns he bought during chargen. |

Still a little unsure about how much of a bounty that would be... there are no official details about this, or are there? I found a post on reddit, where someone made up bounties for just about anything. They had them at 20k each (which seems a bit much, to be honest; but on the other hand, these things are quite dangerous and can cause a lot more than that in damage). The figures provided in that Reddit post aren't made up; they're from Shadows of North America, p. 112. That said, those numbers are specifically for the Republic of Québec and they are given in francs (technically "new francs"), not nuyen. The exchange rate is 2f = ¥1. That would make the bounty on a piasma ¥10,000 (...in Québec ...in 2062). GM's call what they're worth in Sioux Nation in 2079. ¥10K sounds ballpark, but claiming it generally involves redeeming a significant portion of the pelt. Maybe we can get away with just the heads, but still... What are the poor Denver border scanners going to think about a couple giant bear heads rolling around in the bed of the Gopher? |

Deploying a drone from the drone rack is a simple action with wireless-enabled, otherwise a complex action. Bye Thanee |

There are some settlements before the border, where you can drop them off and claim the bounty before heading into Denver. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) 10k was what I was thinking as well... so, let's go with that. Bye Thanee P.S. It is also Mato's turn. |

Simple: Use Simple Device (open door)
Free (?): Move to step out of the vehicle. Standing Up is a Simple, but that presumes you are laying down or prone. The thinking here is that stepping out of a car might not require a Simple Action, but GM's call. Simple: Throw Weapon (throwing knife) There's actually a curious bonus to throwing knives from his smartlink, but that only kicks in on the second throw. Throwing at Piasma 2. The range will sting until it either closes the distance or Mato can use Take Aim to nullify the penalty. Attack: Agility 10 + Throwing Weapons 5 + Specialization 2 - Extreme Range 6: 11d6t5 2 hits, woof, keeping the string of poor rolls going Defense: Reaction ? + Intuition ?: 9d6t5 3 hits, attack misses Embarrassing. So it goes. |

You guys need some dice rolling practice, apparantly! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Getting out of the truck should be covered with movement (after opening the door with a Simple Action). You could also have walked a few steps closer (36m should be Long Range for Mato, already). Next up: Tamarind, and afterwards AM plus Trouble. Bye Thanee |

AM would search for the Sigma (so the order is not very relevant).
Trouble would use their accident power on both bears. Using Edge to reroll failures. They resist reaction + intuition and suffer a glitch if they fail. (they can target up to magic targets). Accident edge: 8d6t5 3 Accident: 10d6t5 2 |

AM would search for the Sigma (so the order is not very relevant). Ok. AM will need this whole Combat Turn to open the compartment (it is not meant for quick access, I'm afraid). Next turn you could spend a Simple Action to grab the gun and have another Simple Action to fire it. Trouble would use their accident power on both bears. Using Edge to reroll failures. They resist reaction + intuition and suffer a glitch if they fail. Resisting: Piasma 1 gets 4 hits -- is off-balance and takes a -2 penalty on actions this turn Piasma 2 gets 3 hits -- is off-balance and cannot run this turn Bye Thanee |

Anyone else have Dumpshock issues today? I can seem to access ok on my phone, but from my work computer I first got an invalid certificate error and then pages refused to load.
Simple: command Auntie-1 to launch Simple: ready her Ingram. |

Let's give Beta a chance to make a post IC. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Then the Piasmas are next (and last) in line for the first pass. Bye Thanee |
