After some really fascinating and varried responses - not to mention a couple good discussions - in another thread, I got to thinking about something that appears to be something of a "wedge issue" to paraphrase Karl Rove. What do your characters do when they aren't on a run? Is it even an issue? Do you GMs ever bring it up? Does anybody even care? Or do you actually keep track of days and friends who aren't runners and things like birthdays, anniversaries and going clubbing or on a pub crawl? I would love to hear some responses from both sides, although I imagine a lot of the "no" responses will be not much more than a single word. *grins* And maybe not.

To mangle a famous book title: "Do de-sensitized hardened shadowrunners dream of awakened mutant sheep?" The PC has no life. No background. Nothing but his stats. He is nothing but a killer. And his is the moment of the kill. He loves that moment. He sits in the dark, quivering, waiting for that moment. |
