I just noticed something quite interesting. On the art of a Fichetti Pain inducer in SR4 there is a warning label. It is very tiny. You can only read it if you blow up the image about thirty-two times.
The fine print warning reads "May cause pain, cancer, and sterility." Now, fichetti is certainly using the label to cover their rear ends from potential lawsuits but it seems that they wouldn't have specificly listed cancer and sterility if these things havn't happened before, possibly during testing. After all, there are so many potential problems with any product that listing them all preemptivly would be impossible. It makes for some interesting flavor to have characters who were sterilized or given cancer by a pain inducer it it gives a reason for shadowrunners to actually be scared of a two-cent rent-a-cop carrying one. Sure, the pain is only momentary but the swim team may never be the same again. |
