Aside from a few government and military facilities, casinos are the most secure places in the country. What would Las Vegas and specifically the casinos be like in 2063?
Here's my take on it. Chem sniffers at the door, spirits everywhere, magically active are shadowed by watchers set to scream if they do ANYTHING magical -- cast a spell, use astral projection or perception, etc.), headware requires you to wear a restraint on it (Math SPU and headware memory can break a bank with card counting), skillwires and reflex enhancers are probably restrained as well so you can't try to move the craps dice or change your bet faster than the dealer can notice -- and the pit boss is probably wired just so he/she can notice this type of thing, and damn near every security guard is going to be wired or otherwise enhanced out the ass. I'd also expect several new games trying to push regular games out. Simsense-based slot machines with different gimmicks and poker/blackjack on a machine rather than hand-delt would be featured prominently as it's much harder to count a deck when it's digital and can be "shuffled" thousands of times between each hand. Traditional table games might be restricted solely to high rollers. Anyone have any other ideas? The Abstruse One |
