I like a girl that nibbles now and again. :grinbig:

-Siege

Now and again? Damn, I suppose that means I should put a recall on the mail-order bride that I had ordered for you. I think I read that she has HMHVV.

I could die a happy man. :grinbig:

-Siege

Wouldn't that make you, technically, undead?

Nah - SR4 doesn't have rules for playing a vampire yet. :grinbig:

-Siege

Who said we were using SR4 rules yet? I know I'm not.

When I finally get my hands on SR4, I'd be SR4 canon too...

Hooray for the quote tunnel!

Got my copy. It's getting read and metaphorically torn to pieces by thoughts for houserules that I already plan on using.

(Mmm... Quotetunnel...)

I'm not even going to consider starting an SR4 game until the supplements come out.

Just to add to the quote-tunnel. :P

And, unlike many, I'm slavering at the bit (like a hungry ghoul watching Caramel Frappucino) to play SR4.

Sweet, sweet Quote Tunn...er....SR4. Yeah!

I gotta hand it to DSF. A page and a half derailment based off the THIRD post in the thread?? There aren't even ten lines on the original subject, yet easily twenty times that number in the derailment alone.

That said, generally I prefer to be the biter rather than the bitee, but I"d be willing to make exceptions, and goth girls CAN be pretty cute...

And also batshit fucking insane.

You say that like its a bad thing, oh is it just me?

PS my girl friend is a goth girl and a biter and she sez she is offended by the accusation that she is batshit fucking insane. I just bring to the floor her taste in men and then run for it...

No, not "slightly crazy and kinky", I mean "they need to be instintutionalized".

That is, the ones who go to Goth Night and think they're vampires.

The ones who dress like it because they like the style are completely different. They're just mostly disturbed.

(Go-go Gadget Quotetunnel!)

I'm glad I haven't met any like that. Anyway, goth girls and I don't mix well. I dress prep more than anything else... lol.

WHAT??? Are you nuckin futs??

Women... in full leather... Black, skin tight, green hair... Man, that turns me on. The only thing better is school girls (hurrah for lolita goth!)

Goth girls may be insane, but at least they have personality, unlike preppies. If I wanted to be surrounded by cardboard cut-outs in dockers, I'd get a wheaties box with a well dressed sports team. Just say no to preppies.

Somewhere this has garnered a new .sig.

And yes to goth girls being nuts. Well goth boys too. In general, both totally f*cking nutters.

Anyone else think the beginning of the QuoteTunnel looks like the side of the Renraku arcology?

Lolita Goths? I'll pass on that, thank you. Aye, I don't mind goths and such, but really. I dress more preppy because of work and what's acceptable in the office environment and then some. So much so that it's now ingrained into my wardrobe. Plus, I hate the whole wearing black all the time, c'mon add in some colour. The all black look while cool at times, it's overdone. Everyone does it trying to pose as some bad-ass. Puh-leaze.

I've met some goth girls and frankly, I don't need the drama especially those who are a bit off-kilter in the noggin.

"Gothic Lolita" turns out to have absolutley nothing to do with what it sounds like. It's not, for example, about hitting on 14 year olds who wear too much eyeliner. It's a fashion trend that's big in Japan, and is named that for the same reason that the "walkman" is - Japanese people have no idea what connotations English words have.

Here's a tirade on the subject by someone who knows and cares. I know, when you first see the name you're thinking of people hitting on girls and then saying "Sixteen!? Man, get your own wheels!", but it's actually a lot more socially acceptable than that.

Regardless, I agree that Goth women are crazy. After an ex-girlfriend of mine threatened to poison my food, I've sworn off goth chicks entirely and now I wear only orange. There's only so much of women trying to get your friends to help them slip venom into one's dinner that a man can stand before all the tight black pants in the world simply cease to be worth it.

-Frank

I've seen goths wear plaid, bright orange, etc. Personally I prefer punk when it comes to dress style. Then ska (whatever you want to call that style of dress), THEN goth as a distant third. Nothing is quite as sexy as a girl with spiked hair and boots that weigh more than you do.

You've kinda described my cousin... No, I won't give her number to you. :P

That's too bad. Ben Davis pants and steel toed boots are very attractive on a woman.

It's like seeing a lobster in its shell.

-Frank

More to the Tunnel!!!

Gothic Lolita is just scary. Gongaru or whatever the "reverse" form of Japanese goth I find equally scary, but in a whole other way.

The goth people I have met here in daneland seems to me (from what I'm told at least) to be just fakes or wannabees. The whole "sick of life" attitude preached by goth I can do on my own without wearing all out black or without belonging to a certain group.

I have been kneed once in the groin by a chick during a SR session while having a Ingame conversation with her. She was into the live scene too much and I guess she forgot it wasnt live this night ...

It must not die! The Azzie Pryamid of Doom must not dieeee! :)

And yes, it does look kind of like what the Renraku ARC would, if it had four sides... I love the south-facing plateau effect, looks like it drops down a floor, then has a huge terrace. :)

And goth girls? I dunno any IRL (wish I did,) but suicidegirls are so bleedingly hot it hurts. ;)

Can the quote tunnel get so big that the initial post eventually disappears?

(back to your regularly scheduled hi-jacking....)

Depending on your browser, yes it can. If anyone can remember what thread the last of these was in it may save time for the curious.

The qouth tunnel shall... Continue!

And pale is in, cx2. :P

In IE the inner-most quotes start disappearing eventually (I think we counted it up to twenty something? I don't recollect. As has been said, it may depend upon your browser.)

We made a *HUGE* quote tunnel once before, but some party pooper mod closed the thread.

That said, I think this is COMPLETELY appropriate in a thread titled 'what some people will do'. Clearly, some people will make giant quote tunnels!

To paraphrase an starfighter pilot, "Stay on topic... stay on topic..."

I counted up to thirty and the original post is still here. I'm using FireFox, though.

ay up thirty one, stoopid quote tunnel hiding the quote button...

On most standard Invision forums, the code starts to break at (I think) 35ish quotes in a row.

This forum, however, uses a different quoting system. So it may end up being more than that.

Ed: Or it could be now!

Still fun to add to it, though. Go for the top! QUOTEBUSTER!

I don't get it - what do you have to look for to see the code breaking down?

Edit: Woot! #100 on the thread. :)

I think when the older quotes quit being displayed.

It is kind of neat scrolling down the page - ooh, especially on the reply page with all 10 previous posts being quote tunnels.

This forum, however, uses a different quoting system. So it may end up being more than that.

I can see 26 quotes.

On topic, I played a shaman once that decided to try a music career - Shadowbeat inspired. When it was showtime and time to judge the performance, the GM said I had to sing. A charisma 1 or 2 person playing a charisma 8 character, I declined. I convinced him to just roll for it or we'd act out the next melee encounter instead of just rolling for it.

ODG, just thinking of what some of my friends do.

SR - one went out and bought a murasame to represent his katana. Another went out and got his car and showed (using toilet paper tubes and tape) where he would plant the bombs. Another bought an airsoft gun to show what he wanted his gun to look like. Another made a homemade armour jacket (using an old leather vest and some thin sheet metal) to show what his looked like, embroiderery and all. We had also once had a paintball gun fight to represent a run where the characters get into a Urban Brawl game. Once I made a cd with a simple grid for a matrix, and then made each node have its stats displayed. A player made a mix cd for when we went into different clubs/bars. And the last one I can remember was when a player, who was upset his char got hit by a car while running through a 4 lane High way, runs back and forth between a 4 lane highway!

D&D - One guy died his hair, ripped his cloths and put on makeup to show how beat up his D&D char was. Another made his own weapons at the local highschool out of spare metal and wood (he also made his own scale mail lol). Had two people duel each other with swords (By this time we all had a large collection lol) and the winner in RL won in the game duel (they had basically the same stats and were both Fighters)

Also my group has decided now that during games, if our characters have a drink, we do too, which leads to some interesting roleplaying.

That reminds me of a security breach at Super K-Mart...One night while I was cleaning up the store security chased a shoplifter out the front door. The shoplifter had a bunch of bras & panties and such stuffted in her pants and she was supposed to hop in a waiting car to get away. The car booked out when the driver saw that the snatch was going awry and rather than be caught the shoplifter headed for the highway. We had a big parking lot and there was a large grass/dirt drainage ditch between the lot and the 8 lane divided highway. She must have been a sprinter because she ran the .25 mile to the end of the lot slid down the ditch and ran up the other side. We figured she would stop there but she then proceeded to run across the 4 north lanes, hurdle the median, and continue to the other side where she was picked up by the getaway car.
Security didn't run 20 feet from the door to the store...we all just stood there watching her go.

Also my group has decided now that during games, if our characters have a drink, we do too, which leads to some interesting roleplaying.

You guys really need to take the next step and join a LARP. That's basicly what you are doing.

ODG, just thinking of what some of my friends do.

SR - one went out and bought a murasame to represent his katana.

Where the hell did he find a Murasame? Is he sure it was a Murasame? Was it signed? Which Murasame was it? ? There has been more than one swordsmith with that name. What as the era, style, and dimensions. And how is it that your friend was rich enough to drop 5 or six figures on a sword for an RPG?

I am quite sure one of you two is referring to the wrong item.
My guess is that the LARPy dude went to the local stffer shack variant an got one of those cheap, horrible katana lookalikes. One of my friends has one and it was listed in the store's catalogue as -believe me- a "hunting knife". (funny legal loophole IMO)

Cheers,

Max

Security didn't run 20 feet from the door to the store...we all just stood there watching her go.

Yeah... I would just stand and watch too. No freaking way I'd run through 4 lanes of traffic and such just to grab someone who has what... (maybe 200-300 dollars tops?) of merchandise. Not worth my life on that.

I dunno, I think it would depend on my contract. If I got hit by a car and survived, presumably they'd have to pay my hospital bills, then pay for me to live comfortably for the rest of my life since I was injured on the job. I'd prefer to be a fat security guard who plays computer games all day than a fat security guard who actually has to guard stuff.

This is assuming you survived the initial impact.

my thoughts exactly. Can it be guaranteed that you'll live the impact? What about paralyzation? I'd rather not.

Really? Dang, I thought you were older than that. Well, that's cool. Once you get to be my age, you want to take things a bit more carefully (most of the time). I just have so much more in life I want to get out of it, and playing Frogger is something I really can do without... plus, I was never that great with that game so it's best that I don't do that in real life. :P

Back to the topic of the Super K-mart thing. That's something that's kind of neat. An infiltration run into a large department store for some reason. The hijinks you can do with that is great. Plus, there's so much open space with cover, it's kinda interesting.

Actually the Super K thing was IRL...and we were just so dumbfounded at her speed that it was more awe than anything. One of the sec guys was a few steps behind her for ~50' but she outpaced him in a few seconds (she was really fast) so he just stopped & walked back.

As for the cars...it was 03:00 on a weeknight in San Antonio...not many cars on 281 at that time of night.

Using the local as a run would be interesting but, it would probably be similar to a stuffer shack (or the food fight mod) depending on the time of day & the location of the store. If nothing it would make a good "fun run" for some keystone cops type run.
