I figure I can pimp my shadowrun sculptures here, so here is:

Shadowrun Dwarf samuari Sculpture

You can see the painted troll sculpture in the background, I'll get that posted and linked soonish.

Edit----

The Dwarf just looks freaking weird, like something Gimli sired on Gollum, but the painted troll is made of awesome and win.

KK, are you going to make such a thread?

Awww, really?

I personally love the Dwarf, but my wife said the same thing, that he was an ugly mofo....guess I need to step back a bit :)

Dwarf didn't turn out too bad, IMO! A little different than i picture dwarves, but still not bad. I couldn't do a dwarf in sculpty to save my life. :D

The painted troll is indeed made of win! Nice expression and nice coloring.

I think I got caught up in the technical side of things with the dwarf, and focused less on the overall.

I was pretty happy with how his pectoral muscles turned out, and how, in general he is a "cleaner" model when it comes to bumps and stuff. Also, since his gun is held out from his body I had to make a cool exterior wire frame to hold it up during baking, and was happy about how that turned out.

I'm not worried if folks don't like him, I learned a lot on him, and plan on trying to make a good looking woman next :)

I'm currently painting him and am really happy with how that is going as well.

As always, thanks for the feedback guys.

So the hows about Poolside with two Badass Babes - starring Skate & KK? Sound good?

...oh, and on the sculptures (looks like I got a small "window" of opportunity here - see previous post). I really like the troll now that's he's painted. The beer is more evident now (of course a "Troll size" 2 L).

I think the dwarf looks cool. A beard (even trimmed one) would help a bit, but that means more work too. I haven't done much traditional sculpting or ceramic work in my career (most of the stuff I did manage to make kept blowing up in the kiln for some reason), so I am not able to give pointers on best tools & techniques to use & such when it comes to clay.

I have done sandcastles & sand sculptures though, my best being a Gothic styled cathedral (which a friend time lapse videoed through its construction to reclamation by the tide with Debussy's La Cathédrale Engloutie as the soundtrack) and an ancient Egyptian setting. with pyramids, a Sphynx and a temple all scaled to each other (that took the better part of an afternoon).

...a good looking woman up next? I'm very interested in this project.

Welcome to the Shadows is specifically for games and other In-Character threads. Seems to me to be the perfect place for what you are considering.

...I dunno.

I did a scan back of about a year's worth of Welcome to the Shadows threads to get an idea of how to do the intro and discovered the everything I saw related to actual campaigns being run in the forum. The original idea was for more of a lighthearted IC discussion thread set up in the format of an daytime trivid talk show. There would be no GM, no need to submit detailed character sheets for approval, no plot, no Karma etc. Hence not really sure if it would fit.

Unfortunately from what I gather, some previous attempts at this type of free form IC talk/chat thread tended to get out of hand and eventually had to be shut down. Definitely don't want to continue that trend.

The continuing existance or viability of the thread is not really in my, your, or any single person's control. As such, it really isn't a factor in my suggestion as to a suitable location for an IC-style thread. The Welcome to the Shadows forum is the proper location to start such a thread, however long it may last beyond the first post. ;)

...or have Bull or Fisty move it to a more appropriate site if it doesn't fit I guess.

Will work up the intro offline & upload it in next time I can get on after work. This way I don't get dropped in the middle of what I'm doing when the signal craps out. The one issue with WiFi they will need to solve before a wireless matrix can be a reality is stable connectivity.

On a side (but somewhat related) note, would be interesting to run the 2070 matrix having some of the same issues wireless has in 2007.

...but that's a topic for it's own thread perhaps.

...now back to the original topic of artwork. Any ideas or further discussion on the programme thread please send via PM, thank you.

Actually I like the fact she's an Ork. Yeah hands are hard enough to draw in 2D. I can imagine that doing them in a 3 dimensional medium is even tougher.

Okay, now he looks like something Gollum sired on a TOS-era Klingon.

Ugly as fuck, but dangerous. :)

...yeah I have a friend who details game miniatures. He must have a keen eye for he does some incredibly intricate work including modifying the figures to make them look just like the actual character down to the smallest detail. The one he did for me of KK is totally astounding. Even did the rising sun tattoo around her right eye. He is also finishing up on my Assimar Paladin Meg and did a wonderful job with my twin rapier wielding Monk Brennah.

Do you use a magnifier? If not, that may help for the smaller details.

...seeing as you will be getting back to character drawings, I better repost the Leela "Post Runner" details again. Apparently I accidentally deleted the PM with all the notes from my Sent Messages as well. I really liked the toning technique you did a while back & would love to see it used on her. I don't mind if I have to wait longer.

The funny thing, I still have a download of the one prelim sketch you did of her where she's sitting on the crate. I still like the feel of it. Maybe that might be a good reference if you do her sitting at the piano (of course nicely dressed without the gun in hand). :grinbig:

we once even filled a guy with 6 or 8 narojet darts once for touching something that he shouldn't touched.. i didn't even get off the couch where i was flirting with some wolf shaman chick
