QUOTE (Squinky)
ShadowDragon

I agree on the face thing. I am still learning (thats really why I like doing this art, because I get to draw things I prolly never would have before. Get out of my comfort zone.) and I still have issues with drawing ethnic features without them looking like a caricature. Then things get really rough when I get people asking for me to draw ethnic trolls or other metatypes. It's hard to decide which set of features will win out.

Taco pete was just something I made up, I had no idea it was on previous SR artwork. I imagined a surplus copter as having a lived in feel....heh. We do have a place called Taco John's here though (Idaho)

Heh. Thanks for trying, anyway.

I like it, but she dosen't really look Chinese... She has more of a gaunt, emaciated, bitter old hag look than I was thinking, too....... But I think that's the result of not being rounded of head. :)

Keep the good work up, mate. :)

...I'll try to keep this shorter than the last two (which were taken almost directly from the character bios I had written).

Tomoe: (Tomoe Sasaki) Great Granddaughter of the legendary Mariner's closer Kazuhiro Sasaki.

Native Japanese: Human/Mundane (not many metas in the land of the rising sun)

Medium height, Athletic, but not buff.

Shoulder length black hair

Dark eyes

Has the face of a Geisha.

Mid 20s

a "Bio adept" (all Bioware - Synaptic Accelerator II, Muscle Augmentation & Toner. Enhanced Articulation, Orthoskin etc.)

No chrome except for a few retinal mods

Former Baseball player (never made it out of the minors - according to Shadowbeat though there are some women players there is still a fairly strong bias against them)

Wears armoured jacket styled as Mariners warm up jacket & armoured baseball cap (Check mariners.com for logo - still don't know how to post a link here yet).

Melee weapon of choice: Titanium bat

Ranged weapons of choice: Baseballs & grenades (several varieties including white phosphor), though she occasionally uses shiriken.

No firearms or smartlink (a no-no in Japan)

Primary skills include: Athletics (Baseball), Clubs (Baseball Bat), Throwing Weapons, Stealth, (as she refers to it, "Base Stealing"), Unarmed (Ju Jitsu)

Has a strong love for "the Game" and undying respect for its "heroes" (yes she has an extensive baseball card collection). Very honourable and polite, and follows most of Japan's time honoured traditions (save for the way women are treated - hence why she moved to the UCAS).

Take your time with this one if you need to...She was a really fun character to play. Had we not become involved with that GD, she easily could have chalenged KK as my all time favourite.

...and never Never cut a deal with a Dragon - Especially a Great Dragon...

Questions real quick:

Sledges hair, in the description it says it is flowing but cut to a half inch or something like that. I am having a hard time picturing that. But then it has been a long day :)

I would say his doo is like a slightly-shaggy mop of hair that always seems to fall just right. Kind of like some overly-pretty Abercrombie model.

QUOTE
Does Jonathan wield any weaponry? Currently he is just standing there.

As a rule of thumb, John wields either an HK assault rifle or a nasty LMG (that usually just stays mounted in the van, though).

QUOTE
Other than that anything else you wanna throw my way to change in this early stage would be great superfly.

Hmmm...
The only things I would see fit to mention are that Sledge's nose has been broken several times (but would be kind of appealing in an Owen Wilson sort of way) ... that John wears a turtle-neck most of the time to hide some hideous throat scarring (also to cover the cyber-replacement chest/arm he was involuntarily implanted with) ... and that Tony always keeps his horns and tusks sanded/polished down to neat knobs (and he always wears expensively tailored suits, he's quite metrosexual).

QUOTE
Sorry if they seem a bit cramped, I don't think I've ever drawn this many folks in one picture before.

No way, man; this looks GREAT! I can't begin to describe how excited I and my group are about this sketch. Your efforts are GREATLY appreciated and well worth the wait. You've got fantastic talents, and your dedication to the Shadowrun community is highly commendable.

I'm sorry for not responding sooner, but the motherboard on my desktop is dead and I've been incognito for the past few weeks. I'll be keeping in touch on my laptop, however.

Thank you so much for the time and effort you're putting into this piece, Squinks!!

EDIT: Oh, and Anne-Marie is an elf -- despite her small stature. Wasn't sure if the round ears on the sketch were and indicator of her race or not.

Dude, could you do Shen Lung? Here's a description.

His hair is shoulder-length and flowing, and he wears a suit that's always flowing with black and white, yin and yang in fractal permutations. It may be magic, it may be color-changing fabric. He's a powerful sorceror. His suit has no Chinese characters or anything on it besides the fractal yin-yang. He is a Chinese elf. When he uses magic, Chinese characters and freaky designs pop up around him.

I'd like the picture to be one of him conjuring a spirit in his mana lodge, if possible. *PLEASE*

Glad you liked it man! And go ahead and throw those other characters at me, I'm always willing.

Ok here is my first version:

Knassers Hernandez (joke version)

:) Sorry, I had too.

The real one now:

Knasser's Hernandez

LOL! I like the joke version but I like your version better. That is one evil looking aztec. It's really good and there's a real buzz when your character gets drawn. It's sort of like fame! :D

Can't fault it! You even got Hernandez's hideous level of muscle detail and the casual jacket.

Much thanks, El Squinky!

I liked my picture so much I coloured it in!

Hernandez Colour

Actually, although it took about 10 minutes to do this in the GIMP, it actually brought out details in your artwork that I'd missed. Like the way Hernandez is actually standing in front of the border around the picture. I hadn't realised how that adds to the impact. I like it more and more. :)

Thanks again!

Anyways, here is:

Eidolon's Morgan Shanes

That is SO FREAKIN' AWESOME! Totally bad ass. You did a fantastic job on the tat as well! Man, thanks a bunch for doing this.

If it's not too much to ask, I might post up some other characters from that campaign. I'll need to get a go-ahead from the guys that played them, but after they see Doc I'm sure they'll beg me to post them. :D

Hey. You click the magic wand tool, you click a bit of the picture. You click a colour. You click the picture. Sometimes things become green that ordinarily wouldn't be green. That happens. :)

Anyway - looks like I started something. Squinky draws us a groovy picture. We colour it in. Yay! :D

In 2074, the first reported case of "Partial Goblinization" was documented in a man known as "Hernandez."

Reports that he is now "Hung like a Troll" are unconfirmed.

Okay, because I want to make sure and get the A-team pic right, and because I need a little break from it :), heres the revised sketch. At this point I can change many things, and then go ahead with inking at your command Superfly.

The colored images make me want to try with the coloring thing again, something of which I am no pro, heh.

Man, I would love to give that to you, but it's hard for me to say really. I don't have any other art projects now, but when I get them it can really bring this whole gig to a halt.

I'll make sure and send you a pm when I get a sketch going on your character though, if that makes you feel any better :). And I hope to hell it isn't February before I get to him.

A-Team Sketch

Linkage to the Color

Went and colored the A-Team Sketch. Took me around 8 hours to do all that and I got a little tired towards the end, but the end was all the small stuff.
I got to say that the Inked images are alot easier to color due to more room for error.

Heh, I was gonna say, it is much harder to color up the uninked ones. Good stuff though, Thank you!

Hmm....i have another character, Vil, who i wouldn't mind seen drawn....so i guess i'll give a sign up, i dont mind waiting. :D

Let's see, pretty tall, above average build, but not huge. Shoulder-length, thick brown hair(well, black and white pics of course, but habit.) Usually dresses in tanks, jeans, heavy boots, old, worn black military jacket. Looks handsome but a little on the disheviled side, like he sleeps about four hours a night. Small bit of scruff on his chin. Is always seen smoking a ciggarette and more often than not with coffee/alcohol. Weapons specialist that knows how to use almost anything that's been produced thats held in a hand, as well as fix/improve/repair it(or break it ;p) i guess somewhere on him a harness with a heavy pistol somewhere or his combat axe would work. About 30 years old. Prefers to work with small-medium firearms, combat axe, knife, unarmed. No visible chrome; his cybereyes are colored like his natural, gray.

The drawings look really good. Here's one more, if you wouldn't mind doing it.

Benson is an average height, medium-to-heavy build human. In his combat gear, he wears a rapid-transit type jumpsuit with a slim-line armoured vest over the torso, as well as army boots, a utility belt, gloves, a half-face gas mask, a black kevlar helmet, and goggles kind of like these. He carries a FN HAR with a sling, a side-holstered Ares Viper on the right side of his belt, and a combat knife strapped to his thigh. He also carries a back pack, and several hand grenades are strapped to the left side of his belt.

Okay that seems about all. Cheers!
