Popular T shirt here in the summer in Seattle reads:

If it's called Tourist Season why can 't I shoot them?

This is probably a popular T-shirt anywhere where there are tourists and restricted hunting seasons.

QUOTE (SL James)
QUOTE (JongWK @ Mar 24 2006, 12:51 PM)
Wasn't there a website selling "Canadian disguise packs" for American tourists going to Europe? :P

What is it? A phrasebook telling you how to pepper your sentences with "eh" and "aboot?"

I'm not kidding. I think I saw it on CNN. The kit included an obviously Canadian t-shirt, a facts & slang book, and pictures of Canadian landmarks that you could show to your European guests. *shakes head*

Me, like my country, I'm all for tourists.

I know. That's why my response was what is called a, "joke."

I never worried about it from a language perspective except a couple of times when I couldn't hear what someone was saying, but physically I couldn't have stuck out more if I was a 7 foot tall Chinese woman, so I just used it to my advantage so people would leave me the hell alone.

I lived in Munich for a couple of years...

- Most American tourists are idiots.
- Most Japanese tourists are idiots.
- Most Australian tourists are idiots.
- ...

And when I saw the generic German tourist trying to enter the St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City with boxer shorts, I know that everything you can do is trying to be one of the exceptions...

Greetings,
Nyx
