Being downtown, there are a plethora of choices when it comes to both High Class Hotels as well as Restaurants. I would anticipate just about any hotel and about half of the Restaurants would have private facilities designed for business meetings that would be available. The short notice as well as the time of night however will make it much more difficult to find one that is availavle.

ooops, i guess you dont get a discount when you move in together.
6 people would make any place we rent cost 50% more because each extra person adds 10%. That would make apartments a base of 3k and houses 7.5k. @blitz Im gonna try to line a place up on the comm. Can i negotiate for the final cost? apartment Charisma 6 + Negotiate 4 + Kinesics 2 = 12 dice 2,6,4,2,4,5,4,4,5,2,1,6= 4 hits -------------------- Im gonna roll my starting cash now to. 3d6 x50Y 3,3,4 = 10 x 50Y = 500Y @everyone I have a 4 door sedan, that can probably fit me and 3-4 others. only 3 if the Troll comes along. @spud my ic comments about car space and Roc were just size related not race. |

Abbandon - Kinestics is a non-verbal body language skill and therefore unusable unless you are doing face to face social tests. Additionally, the information you get via comm is only apartment listings. To actually rent a house or apartment, the listing agent will want to show you the facilities and collect an application as well as a fee for running a credit check on the person intending to rent. At least...these are the proceedures to rent legitimately. Any other option will have to go through a contact ;)
Jack - All you know about Cesear is that he is a high ranking family member of the Ciarniello Family. You do know that this is an area the Yaks are actively trying to gain ground at the expense of the Gianelli territories. It seems that this is one of the more violent areas associate with the Yaks. Budda - You know that Cesear is known as Chrome and is the heir to the Ciarniello family. Currently his major responsibilities include managing the family's pornography and prostitution rackets. You also know that the area of Tacoma is a big battle ground between the organized families, particularly the Yaks, the Gianelli's and the upcoming Vory V Zakone (the new face of the Russian mob). The yaks have been steadily taking over the territory that was once controlled by Ginelli but the Vory V Zakone are trying to turn Tacoma into their main base. Violence abounds under the Tacoma Aroma :) |

ok....Can we have a list of possable Hq's for us to choose from and what it would take to get them in terms of rolls or money?
I wasnt trying to get us long term legit housing. Instead of sitting on the package once we get it i think we should store it someplace that can be viewed from whereever we decide to shack up and set up some secuirty on it. That way we can just tell Mack how to get to it later without having to be there or we could counter attack anybody who trys to go for the package by somehow following it. |

Abbandon....you have to either go through a fixer or contact to set you up with a place discretely and without the use of a SIN, or you will have to jump through the standard hoops everyone has to in order to rent a place from available listings. The best you can get without actually submitting an application and having a credit check run is to rent one of those furnished suites designed for business people to rent by the week.

or we break in someplace, change the locks and squat it, or we have our computer specialist hack into a suitable space.......Did you really think the thief in the group wants to pay for what he can steal?
Just an idea. |

oh and Blitz so you arent suprised by this, I plan on stealing a vehicle to use in our "heist". My plan in short...find a junker(same type as i'll steal) in a junkyard, use fake sin to buy...strip vin numbers off junker (visible, common ones) and replace those on the non-junker with the junker's that we "own". New car at a low price and totally expendable. From there we can wire it up for the rigger, time permitting and we are set.

Breaking in to places and stealing things is all great and everything but i really think we should keep that kind of activity to a minimum. Who needs heat on them BEFORE a run. I also dont think you have to go through such extremes for the heist truck/van. Just steal one and hide it someplace until we need it and then we are gonna dump it right afterwards
@blitz. I will comm my fixer Felix and have him look for apartments that are a minimum 15-20 minutes from Renton. I let him know that 6 people will be living there and that one of them is a troll. And it would be nice if there was a garage. |

Jack: Sounds fine to me. As long as you stick to the more popular model vehicles, you should be able to match up a junker to a stolen vehicle. As far as timing goes, Im going to invent a test for it :) I can do that. Im in charge ;)
I'll have you roll Logic + Edge (since you'll need to be clever and lucky to match em up quick) Base time will be one week with each success chopping off a day. Abbandon: I apologize. I have been going through the gear aquisition and you have two options available to you from a rules perspective. You can either try to locate a safehouse at roughly 500¥ per day using the Gear Aquisition rules (Charisma + Negotiations), you can purchase a team lifestyle at an increase of 10% per person with someone supplying a SIN that can stand up to average scrutiny, you can have your fixer work option one (using his own skills and connection rating) which will incure a 5% finder's fee with your particular fixer. |

@blitz
Whats the threshold for the safehouse search? charisma+negotiation (??) 500/ 1 day. What would a safe house entail?? Hmm thats like 84 nuyen a day. I think getting low income housing would be better. A safe house could quickly start costing more than an apartment and it would last way shorter. My plan was and i guess still is to have my fixer try to find some normal low income housing for the 6 of us. I guess it will have to be legit and we will either have to get a Fake SIN for it or have one of us make one if thats the only way to get it? I guess i didnt really need my fixer to look for legit apartments. Maybe he can hit me back and tell me frag off or something at which point we can do it ourselves. oops got sidetracked. My plan was just to get everybody together and do any pre set-up stuff like housing arrangements or secret handshakes and then split for the night back to our own pads. Then begin the job the next day which would involve grabbing the fake SIN and the apartment and beginning our recon and planning. Can Roc use his commlink at all or do we have to make plans to meet everytime we get seperated? Just to continue with my little Virtual HQ imagery. If Roc did try to goto our kool little tree fort it would be funny if the tree fell over on him or a piece of the house fell on him. Or maybe his icon is of a troll to and when he trys to climb the rope ladder it breaks hehe. I know we arent gonna use it but i think its kool and continue to think about it. |

A safe house will basically entail a safe spot off the grid with basic ammenities and decent base security. They aren't generally designed for long term use, but rather a spot to use for a few days while working a job.
Id you want a low rent apartment, you're talking about a lifestyle which will need a SIN in order to obtain. The big difference is that safehouses are generally obtained through the black market, while lifestyles have to be legit on the surface. Just a suggestion, but perhaps you should be discussing these options with the group. |

I think Roc can use his commlink just not to the extent of what some people can. Get phone calls, buying stuff, getting money, typing out a note that would be misspelled. Those are the things I would think he could do. I am not sure about going out into the matrix. If he could I don't think it would pretty. However that would be a call for the Gm to decide. As for needing a safehouse we really wouldn't need one. We can meet a seperate bar and talk biz. Every day we can have a new place to meet. Besides we will most likely be out and about scouting the place, running down leads from our contacts, rounding up goodies for the run, etc. I do not believe we are going to sit on this for long. We have four or five days to plan I believe.
Blitz, I would like to do a logic (2) plus street biz (3) = 5 to figure out how this Cesear is. Here are my rolls. 1,5,3,2,5=2 hits |

@spud omg you called my sexy female elf chick a him!!
@blitz I wasnt gonna set anything up without approval of the group. I was just trying to get some options ready. Although it seems like we are really limited. What is the the threshold for a safehouse search? Unless we get a rating 1 SIN its gonna have a 2 day interval on looking for a fake SIN. So that seams really unlikely with our time frame. Not to mention money wise. 3k for the apartment and 3-4k for the fake SIN. @everyone. I think we only have two choices. pre arranged group meetings like spud said or try to hunt down a safehouse which could end up taking days. |

Since paint is relatively cheap, and the star (cops) are likely to stop any shady types (like shadowrunners) it'd be nice not to get pinched for having a stolen vehicle (HEAT). The replacing of VIN numbers covers our butts incase that does happen, unless we have an Uber-jedi mage who will wave his hand and tell them that it's not the van we're looking for..move along. It also isnt for any of us to jeapordise the assets of our rigger (him having to dump his own vehicle later) when we can cover that aspect by using our team talent pool. It's fine for most of us to ditch a tool if need be, for most of us it isnt too expensive...the rigger however has put alot of money on that asset. |

One bit of information that you should consider when deciding how to set up the group is that I intend this to be an ongoing campaign and once you all settle in, you will be a team. It might be a good idea to plan a bit more for the long rather than the short term.

Well, I guess I fast-forwarded us to the club. I know I myself endorsed OOC planning as efficient, but I just really wanted us to get us somewhere that even if we did go for the relative efficiency of OOC planning, we could at least justify a "they talked through the night about their diabolical machinations" sort of IC post. Anyway, if there were IC things people wanted to do on the way there, I sure no one will hesitate to post a time-parallel entry.

Adamu do you still have the descritpion i gave you? I didnt copy it to my character file and it looks like i erased the private messages that had it.
I pretty much have it memorized. Club Rain is a sqaure building 3 stories high with a flat roof. The sign for Rain is in giant vertical neon letters and also huge 3d hologram letters. The club has a bouncer who does check for weapons. Its not a gang hang out. The defining feature of the club is the dance floors. Taking up a significant amount of space in the center of the second and third floor's surface are empty holes or what atleast look like holes. The floor is see through with a mix of holograms and magic. For those who allow it there is a giant waterfall flowing from the 3rd floor to the first through the hole. If you go out on the dancefloor and you have your simsense turned on you can feel the water running over you. The first two floors are loud and for dancing. The third floor was a resteraunt/meeting area. I guess we could instantly renovate it so the tables are enclosed and provide security. Maybe the walls can be controlled to go invis and the side facing the center of the club and the hole is open with directional jammers acting as a kind of force field that nothing can pass even though its open space. Each floor has there tables and booths and chairs along the walls of the club so that the everyone can see into the center of the club and the people dancing seemingly on air or in a waterfall depending on your perception. The music on the first floor is different than the music on the second floor. Im not sure if i worked on what the outside looks like. I think inside and out the walls are brick. The entrance doors are big metal swing doors with no handles. Oh the roof has a helipad on it for when there are medical emergencies. Oh yeah and in each corner of the building there is a walled sqaure spiral staircase. |
