blech. this is so frustrating... finally come up with a character concept i like and get it down on paper, and now RL gets in the way... anyways, i haven't had time to really keep up with anything, so i think i'm gonna have to bow out for now :(

perhaps some other time if you still need someone, i'll bring her back...

sorry about not letting you know sooner, it just sorta came up :(

It might be helpful eventually, but we'll go ahead and start without one. If any of you have anyone who would like to join, by all means, send them our way.

Expect update post shortly.

Good thing the drug wears off in 6-Body hours, so that's only 2 hours of "intoxication".

hehe...

Ok..I will have a rigger joining us later, but I have to help him make a character first :) Don't expect him at the first meeting...unless that meeting takes a while to get to...you never know the pace with these forum games :)

I used to party in a place called the underground, when I was stationed in DC.

Blitz

Ok im outside the club trying to get in. I thought maybe you would like to walk my character from the front to the johnson so you could describe the club and stuff.

If not i'd like to know how rough this club is, are there humans and metahumans or is there a dominant type among the clubbers. Any descriptors you'd like me to use.

Would the bouncer tell me where Mac is or would he pass me off to one of the other employee's.

I only have a small knife on me that is suppose to be hidden.

Let me give you a description of The Underground so you can post more accurately.

It's located in a more industrial area of downtown and from the main street, there are no visible entrances. Along the southern end, there is a staircase leading down almost two flights to a big set of double black doors. There is no line, only one very large troll in a wrinkled suit and dark shades. Go ahead and post (or modify) your post for the door and depending on your timing, I'll post a reply showing what happens when you ask for Mack :)

Just a reminder to make sure the time is included in your post. Makes it SO much easier for me (and you) to coordinate what action is happening when.

Im going to bump those who still have not posted to the club first. Once everyone's made their "arrival" post, I'll cover scouting, and entry based on time stamps and get you all into the club and at Macks Table.

Blitz, 2 questions:

First, would this club have been reviewed, or advertised that it'd be on the matrix?

Second, if it is may i have the type of club it is? (Dance/club,Industrial,Metal, etc.)

I'll need it to complete my partial post.

Certianly. The information you are able to find lists the place as mostly a bar, with occasional nightly entertainment. Most nights the music and ambiance is more geared towards industrial music, though this isn't your typical "dance" club. It's the type of place a hard man goes to drink and talk with other hard men. However, the reason it made the list of notables was due to a weekly music act on Fridays. The unusual part is that the music is a blues singer known as Moira, the reviews of her act speak of her haunting melodies and the depth of compassionate comfort her sad songs bring to those who listen. It's debated heavily in the comments as to why this singer limits herself at such an uncharacteristic place.

There are also a few hits on your search about lone star responses to disturbances at the club. Apparantly it has been known to get mildly violent at times.

Hey everyone...please forgive me. Having serious internet connection issues and haven't been able to get online for several days now. It's being super sporatic right now but a tech is supposed to be coming out on monday. I have a crap ton of reading to catch up with to be able to post so bear with me. I'll try to make a bump in each game Im involved with, but don't expect my regular posting to get going until this mess is fixed.

Heh sorry for the crappy roleplaying. So far i've only went jogging in the rain and dressed inappropiately for the winter. Wouldn't rain be called snow in 48 degree weather? Atleast she wore a coat lol.

Game stuff:

-Time passage note. I am only allowing 5 minutes total for my bartender scene. When i make it over to Mack and Roc it will be 7:55.

-visual and sound preception tests. Im just looking around trying to get the vibe of the place i guess so i can fit in better.

intuition 4 + perception 4(5) + 3 visual/sound = 12 dice.
1,4,6,3,4,1,5,3,2,4,2,2 = 2 hits...

-In general i wanna be able to affect others mood towards me. How do you want to handle that. Should i have to pass some social test for you to tell me that the individual will respond well to insults or charm or intimidation. Or do you tell me the type of communication they will respond to and then i make a roll to see how effective i am? Or should i make a perception roll to see if she can figure out what would make a person respond well to her? If the bartender gives me attitude about my drink for example would he respect me more if i insult him?

perception to find correct attitude to use on bartender:

intuition 4 + perception 4(5) +3 sight/sound= 12 dice.
3,3,4,3,2,4,1,2,6,5,4,6 = 3 hits

social test to try see how effective my attitude is:

Charisma 6 + etiquette 4(6) = 12 dice.
6,1,3,2,3,1,2,5,2,1,4,4 = 2 hits

-do you not want me using my social skills at all since Adamu is the face? Just to clarify i know adamu is suppose to be the leader and does all the talking for the group but i didnt know if it was kool if i just use my social skills to do other things that are non mission critical.

[crap i think my chick has the barbarians curse. I have had characters who are suppose to be really good at stuff constantly fail. The last case was a barbarian who couldnt hit a bat to save his life...literally. ]

Abbandon: This is an area Im always a little iffy on. On one hand, I understand that by paying points when generating your character, you are buying the right to be viewed a certian way as far as competence goes, however I am the type of GM that prefers Role Playing rather than Roll playing. What I do not want are players rolling dice in order to be told how to play their character. The skills and rolls you have are to handle the randomness in the world, not dictate your characters actions. If you are trying to read a situation, a perception check is fine for me to give you the outward appearance of things but don't expect to get the kind of information an assensing would give to a mage. Additionally, you have to make your own choices regarding your actions and attitudes as those will greatly affect the way others treat your character. You could have a silver tongue, but if you show up dressed like a go ganger at a concert hall, no amount of sweet talking will get people to respect you. Does that make sense?

Your perception of the room is that this is a down and out bar for down and out folk. The men look mean, rough and surly. They drink hard liquor or the house brew that might as well be. They look at you like meat, not a person.

The bartender is a huge, hard looking troll who scowls slightly showing you his distaste for your kind, but represses his opinion as his business relies heavily on others being able to conduct business here.

Your etiquette check ensures you dont insult him, but you don't really make much progress in wiping that scowl off his face.

Might have missed it Jack, but not sure what penalty you think applies. Unless you're doing anything unusual, just roll it standard.
