It should be rather obvious whos a smoothtalker and who isn't. Ghost, probably not. Sylph, maybe. Garret, doubt it. The girls? Jill, yes. I know her. Judith, maybe not today. She seemed miffed earlier. I don't want her getting mad.

Is there some sticking point that your characters would not accept this run? Then we can get on with specifics instead of playing twenty questions? I am waiting for someone to ask if it is smaller than a breadbox.
Is this time of day good/bad for everyone? |

Well with CHA 5 I don't thing Ghost would complain. :D
But really, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot to ask about before agreeing. If he's expecting the rest of the costs to be covered through looting, we're probalby not going to squeeze too much more nuyen either. |

Anymore cash we can get out of him easy easy money. I say Lilith would take the intiative to press for cash, being as her toys costs more than most people's. And she could probably get it done.
Press for more cash then accept when it looks like you've got all you can without pissing him off. Hayter is waiting for SOMEONE to take the intiative. |

Make an etiquette roll for Jill. She's trying to sooth things over with her comment.
As for why I didn't have her negotiate for more money: Wasn't thinking of it. Hold on while I edit my post. And, add a negotiation roll to it. This post has been edited by LilithTaveril: Aug 24 2006, 04:20 AM |

Slyph by nature is more likely to be subtle and play off others so he would automatically defer to whomever in the team looks to be taking the lead in negotiating. As far as the job is concerned he has no further questions until the rest of the info is out. He listens a lot and speaks very little in talks such as these as a rule. In this way he gets the most info he can possibly get. He will aid Jill so if you are rolling then please roll a negotiate test for Slyph to aid Jill if applicable. Other than that...

Garrett doesn't really need many of those answers, all he does is heal those he is working with and shoot those he isn't. That and he is not a leader, more concerned with teamwork and survival then ordering people and stuff.

I'm sorry for being pissy, and I also want to make an Etiquette test to negate my social gaffe. :D
EDIT: Oh yeah, and of course I want to add my dice to the Negotiation test. :D |

That's a good point. I think working together should give us a bonus. I also remember it being harder to negoitate with a group, so this Johnson may have trouble keeping the price down.

Yeah, I wonder why Green Eyed Monster has yet to post Mr. Johnson's instructions, especially after he expressed his impatience to get things going.
Green...you're not dead, are you? ;) |

You jinxed it! :] Thinking such things, one must wonder: Did FanGirl really want GEM to die? Is her question a projection of her desire? What murderous intentions does our fellow online-gamer harbor? Who is her next victim?

Yes, I'm alive.
I am frustrated with my internet connection. I can read much more easily than respond, and reading the thread just makes me think it is spiraling out of control. First is mostly my fault. I had a post I was writing leaving room for our tardy character/player to start playing or for us to easily allow a replacement to enter. I posted the entry, and got my internet connection to comply, when I see the player in question has posted during the interim. I hurriedly edited my post to work his post's information into mine, and luckily got my internet connection to post the edit. A long explanation for the "tardy runner" bit some found inappropriate. If I go by her character reactions, Mr. J. is going to have more and more problems with her passive agressive actions. But this is all OOC as far as I am concerned. Next spiral seems to be the question about alternate plans for completing the deal. The Johnson left the details up to you, so every possibility is an alternate at this point, right? Why ask such a question? I was trying to answer it in character from his point of view with 2 of the worst reasons I have seen for PCs to ask about an alternate plan. So maybe a bit of player and GM misunderstanding. I have been trying to make this as easily acceptable a run as possible, but it seems like the things I am doing to make it acceptable are taken as too good to be true or raising red flags about what is he up to, or giving the impression he is new or stupid. If it makes you more comfortable, I can make him more assertive, controlling and demanding. The comment of being on par with stealing cars. I'll start by admitting stealing cars is a pretty good gig in SR. If we assume the Johnson knows about threat and difficulty levels, he is thinking they are about the same for this team as boosting cars. TURN OFF SIGS in IC thread! Is it so hard? I see them and wonder why they are still there. I'll start listing possible reasons, but that will really help this spiral into oblivion. Also, when you want me to roll, it would help if you tell me your dice pool. The more windowes I open, the better chance my @#$%*&^% internet connection acts up. No one responded to my question of when everyone is usually online and good posting times. I am in the eastern time zone, and lately have been sleeping during daylight hours. 9 or 10pm my time seemed good for people. I am going to try to get this posted, then post an IC piece about accepting the job and giving out detailed information. |

Just to clairfy, Lilith and FanGirl still have sigs on a post or two. Just trying to be helpful
Times I am available....will be changing soon. I am starting school Monday, so I am unsure af when i might have time. I'll say for now that 11 pm central sounds good to me. I'll post before GEM gets on so that he can read and respond to anything lengthy. |

For later arguments: Drones are much more useful than exposing ourselves by breaking in or causing distractions. We don't get caught or seen if a drone is nabbed.

Sorry looking back I see I did not post good times. Usually I am able to post 11pm central or later. I work overnights several days a week and stay up on my days off. All the questions are just our way of obtaining as much info upfront as possible. I can not remember all the runs I have been a part of where we didn't ask enough and missed some key piece of info that could have made the difference. As far as dice pools Slyphs negotiate skill plus Charisma gives him 5 dice to roll to assist Jill ( I believe who was going to negotiate?) or whomever is taking the lead in negotiating with the Johnson for the wiggle room mentioned.
