There was a joke about the "elusive Shadows of Latin America upload" in the shadowtalk for - er Havens or Enclaves. Didn't know whether to laugh or sigh.

You are correct. Between Argentina and Uruguay over a proposed pulp mill apparently. |

As I am from Montevideo, I can tell you the proposed pulp mill is up and running.
There is a big group of environmentalists from Argentina who are really angry/worried about it so they sometimes block the bridges in the Argentina-Uruguay border. It is a really convoluted issue and there are a couple conspiracy theories but it would definitely make the perfect frame for a shadowrun. BTW: the coast alongside the River Plate is quite beautiful, particularly now that it's summer. I would personally love to see SoLA if it ever comes out. Sigh, Max |

Yeah, that was one thing that came to mind, environmentalist arguments and a radical Amazonia? plus Is the wreck of the german Battleship Graf Spee still there? Add in metapirhana fish and I'm good to go. |

yep, the Graf Spee wreck was to be found over here.
IIRC a few years ago they salvaged some interesting parts -some of them quite big- and there was some fuss about whether to sell them back to Germany or what. Another interesting fact is that many of the former members of the crew stayed and settled in Montevideo, so sometimes rumours about WWII Nazi cabals hidden in the population come up in the media. I think I met one of those survivors who had become a quite unremarkable old fisherman in a small coastal town near Montevideo. From your comments, however, I think you are a little misguided, If you ever come around here you will find the River Plate area quite... urban. No metapiranha around here. Chupacabras, on the other hand... Cheers! Max |
