Personally, I found it uninteresting bordering on unwatchable, but each to their own.

Versus is nothing like Shadowrun, nor is it very good. It's convoluted and absurdly long (not to mention down right boring it parts) for what it is. While most of the action in it is passable, it's still not worth watching.

Man, I tried watching Versus. I didn't get past the first scene where the escapees meet some other felons. It didn't help that it sounded like every male character was dubbed by the same voice actor. Unless their lips were moving I couldn't tell who was talking.
From what I saw (samurai vs. zombies in a forest) it wasn't a thing like Shadowrun. Or at least, like any Shadowrun sourcebook I've ever read. |

I have a version of Versus without subtitles. :(
I haven't watched it yet, but when I do will I be missing anything important? |

I haven't seen the dubbed version, but yeah, I'd imagine it would probably make the whole thing less pleasant. I'm not sure why dubbing seems to be such a difficult thing to do…

Dubbing means cutting out roughly half of the original preformance by the actors and replacing it with preformances by (usually) less talented actors speaking in a language that is out of context for the story and trying to sync it with lips originally speaking completely different words … *gasps for air* :D Somehow I don't find it surprising that it's a hard thing to do well.

Well, from what I saw of the movie, I doubt subtitles would have saved it for me. Of course, if anyone is so sure it's a great movie they want to mail me a copy, PM me for my address. :)

Probably about as much as if you ignored the plot and story of any porn movie ever made. |

You would be missing a great deal. I mean, you wouldn't even know why all the Yakuza zombies were trying to kill people.

Hey, I've seen some porn movies that had rich and satisfying plots...like the one in which a strangely mature little-orphan Annie has lost her cat and all sorts of people offer to help her find it...or the one in which the pool boy helps the well-equipped household robot initiate an orgy with the majority of the rest of the cast... Hmmm...perhaps you're right after all... |

Oh ome on now. La Blue Girl make s alot more sense when you understand that Miko Mido is the daughter of the Shikima King.
After seeing Versus, I must say that I want a sword that has a laser sight. |

sword with a laser sight? Man, I really have to see that movie, it's been sitting on my shelf collecting dust. Question, is it better to break open the vodka while watching this movie or will beer suffice?

My advice: watch it three times back-to-back. The first time, do it sober. Second time, bring out the beer. Third time, vodka. I've heard rumors of a fourth round that involved either LSD or Everclear, but it sounds inadvisable. (I watch it sober and love every minute, but YMMV) ~J |

Could it be? The last "shadowrun movie" I saw was some horrid live action video made as a GenCon Promo back in the late 80's or early 90's... |

Take this as you may, but I give you this quote, which comes from the official Shadowrun FAQ, released just yesterday ...

You know, that (VG) means that it is the videogame.
My last Shadowrun movies where the contestants for last years Shadowrun short movie contest. Most were pretty enjoyable :cyber:. |
