I reopened the recruitment thread for this (a good bit of thread necromancy on my part) and hopefully we can get a couple more players in on this thing.

Ok, what can we do to get this team across the border.
@Trigger - You want us to work out the border crossing in OOC or IC?

My "My Controls" is screwed up, it doesn't load the page, but I'm still interested in playing. It's just going to be a little bit of an inconvenience for me.... shwat ev. Both of the games died that I was taking part in, so just gimme a holler, I'm more than eager to join up.

My Controls is not currently working for anyone, nor is sending a person a PM by clicking their name. You can still access PMs from the "0 new messages" (or whatever count) in the upper right corner.

I'm a lot leary of crossing the bulk of the Sioux Nation. Looking at the map, I think a better choice might be to get ourselves to Denver. If we decide to continue to Seattle, we can cross the PCC.

Drop down the western UCAS to I-70 in Kansas and them sneak across and get to Denver.

However you guys want to do it. I am just fine running the actual driving and such here in OOC until you reach the next town or border crossing or such.

I say we make our way to Colby or Goodland Kansas (Not for sure exactly where the Sioux border is). We want to be on the UCAS side and try to locate a local who can get us across the border.

Of course I am grasping here. We have no contacts and this is the best plan I can think of. Ideas?
A new team member who is skilled as a Sioux based coyote would be great right about now.. [hint, hint] ;)

:rotfl:

Getting to the border for now, sounds like a good idea. Not sure how friendly the Sioux are to foreigners in their lands, but then again, we will probably have to avoid patrols anyways, regardless of where we are.

Unless amra28 objects, we'll make for Colby, Kansas and see about doing the legwork to get across to Denver.

Didn't we want to go to Seattle originally?

Though Denver is a lot closer. ;)

The problem with Seattle by land is the number of miles of the NAN we need to cross. Denver is a number of hours from Colby, Kansas. Thinking about the perspective of a crew not familiar with life in the NAN and the potential issues for these fish outa water, I was thinking Denver.

That said, is you two (or the GM) prefer Seattle then I'm game to try anything.. ;)

Yep, makes sense... was just asking. :)

And from Denver we can make a nice hiking trip into the Rockies... that is, if my geography doesn't fail me completely at this point. :grinbig:

Alright, Denver it is then *scratches out half the crazy GM plots that were written down on the Deluxe GM Plot Device Sheet*

Well, as there are no border crossings and mainly just a whole hell of a lot of plains inbetween Fargo and Colby, nothing significant has happened on the way there. I will get up an IC post for your arrival at some point today.

BTW, I can't remember, but is the unconscious teammate with you still (as I cannot seem to remember her name at the moment either.)?

It depends on what the team does while they are in Colby and, after that, Denver. I have some plans, but depending on the situation, they can change a bit.

Take a look at my first post in this thread. :)

And... yeah, I suppose so. We wouldn't just leave her behind. I guess we will go seperate ways soon, though, like when we are in Colby. Maybe she thinks that she is better off on her own or somesuch.

@Trigger: Data Search(1) + Browse(4)
1,1,3,6,4 = 1 hit: Locate Local Data Haven
6,2,6,2,6 = 3 hits: Get information about travel between Colby and Denver, UCAS
2,5,1,4,5 = 2 hits: Research local laws (curfew, weapons, quirky stuff, etc)

I can roll these as extended tests if you like. Of course, on an extended test I will eventually rack up enough successes so given the fact that we are not under time duress we can just assume that I search until either I am satisfied with the information or confident there is nothing (or nothing else) to find. - Please advise.

I'll just keep my eye on this thread, so whenever it's up for an introduction, just lemme know. If you could, shooting me a PM might be good too; if it's going to be a while, that'll make it easier to hop in quickly.

@Redjack:

Local Data Haven: The Colby Connection

Travel Information: There are a number of Coyotes and smugglers in the area that accept tag-alongs on their runs, especially those that can fend for themselves. With a couple of more indepth searches, you acquire the contact info for two of them, a Coyote named Nine and a smuggler by the handle of West Coast Sonja. Also, there is travel legally from Colby to the UCAS sector of Denver via a military maintained road for those who have UCAS SINs. The toll on the road is minimal, but security along it is fairly tight.

Local Laws: The primary law system in Colby is the standard UCAS penal code, although a number of lesser local laws are in place as well. No public use of magic of any sort is allowed, as well as restrictive curfew against metas (primarily trolls and orks as part of anti-gang legislation) as well as some rumors along a couple of boards that driving while meta is a quick way to get noticed. While legal firearms are permitted to be carried, it is again said that the locals are less lenient with metas carrying than vanilla humans.
