Be a lot more common after the crash acutally. People don't trust electronics so much anymore. It's also harder to trace, so more attractive to runner types.

But wouldn't the printing of the money be a problem? I understand that government may have re-started the printing but for how long..

I don't think so. The goverment goes off of demand for hard currency, which would increase. The system could have completely lsot int's infrastructure in the crash. Goverment and old money types would awant cash on hand to back up theri cred accounts as well, and they're more likely to have big safes at home to keep cash in.

ASLso bear in mind the locale. It's New Orleans, not Seattle. Lot less tech, ltos of swams and bayous . You're a lot more liekly to meet people that don't have a commlink even if it is how they're supposed to carry ID.

Also a mob town. Cash is much harder to trace.

The Lucky Strike
The Lucky Strike was opened by Lucky Santangelo in January of 2070. Nearing it's one year mark, the Lucky Strike is showing surprising staying power considering it's a casino/bar/sports den in a city of a thousand casino/bar/sports dens.
Little is known about the owner, Lucky Santangelo. Rumors say that she's a "made man" within the ranks of the Kozlowski Family, others say she's no more then a gambler with a lucky streak. What is known is that Lucky won the deed to the Strike from Vincent Hotchkiss, a New Orleans real estate and porn mogul, in a hand of poker. After that, she had the place gutted and restored.
The Lucky Strike is made up of two floors, the ground floor and the basement. The ground floor consists of the bar, grill, sports den and casino near the back. The basement holds most of the staff offices and a few private gaming rooms. Rumor says that there's another level to the Strike but so far no one has ever been able to substantiate the claim.
On The Inside
The interior of the Strike is done in the style of an old Irish pub; dark woods, frosted mirrors, wood paneled floors and comfortable barstools. The sports den is done in the same vein but, with all the modern amneties and fully AR compatible.
Past the sports den, you come to the casino proper. The casino holds 500 people at full capacity and has enough gaming to satisfy even the most jaded gambler. There is even a pool hall, where you can pit your skills against the hustlers that make the hall home.
Downstairs offers much the same in the way of decoration, but also offers more privacy for those so inclined. Private game and meeting rooms are offered for those who can afford to play in peace.
The staff of the Lucky Strike is made up of gorgeous and friendly young men and woman, most from the local colleges and universities, rumor says that some of the pretties on staff can be purchased but once again, rumors can be just that, rumors.
If You Go
If you go, be careful to mind your manners. Ms. Lucky, as she's known to the staff, has a short fuse and a long temper. She's been known to hold grudges longer then God himself. If you plan on cheating, know that she doesn't do warnings. You cheat, you forfeit you right to breath. That's how she is. Other then that, she's pretty chill. Don't cheat, don't skip out with money owed and mind yourself.

Deva, character loks b\pretty good. the skills are spread jsut a tad thin, but you've gota wide range of skills which is great, and high attributes to compensate. ANd since your skills are low, they'll be easier to raise on thigns you want o concentrat on. the char looks very thourough which is great

I like the contacts ,and the detailed fake ID, ,guun lcnese, etc. Lots of people forget that stuff.

Hey man, no problem ,everyone ask questions if you've got them. Makes for a better unnderstanding of the setting, or at least, how I want to present it. :)

And thanks. It's been long since I did a character but I have closely watched a making of several of them as a GM. And I also actively thought about the character last 35 hours (god damn Daylight Saving fragger took one of my precious hours!!), almost all the sleeping time too, so I have had enough of little quirks to think about.

Should I post it here? I still have 30 minutes before my selfproclaimed deadline. :grinbig:

And here you have it, censored or detailed from someparts for better reading. If our lovable GM wants show what my contacts are, then he may do it (also if there is a lonely cybersurgeon to be found he could name it).

Mangadyne Deva was a must! But did you realise the other thing in Rayo's commlink? Erika is a finnish corporation (merger of telecom giants Ericsson and Nokia in 2019), so they did come naturally to me. :D
