Lolindril comes in as Lu is in mid-don, looking to pass the time a little faster.

In case you've forgotten, I have plenty of stamina. Besides, wouldn't it do us both some good to warm up? he smiles that smile again.

I don't know, Swordmaster, I have doubts as to your ability to adequately warm me up.Lu smiles slyly, and continues donning her armor, but more slowly.

Eventually Lu and the Swordmaster make it back on to the deck. The 'Maiden seems to be giving a good chase, as they've not quite caught her yet, but are closing.

The ship maintains a steady lead for the rest of the day. They're elementalist is apparently a bit better tahn the Cloud Leapers. The ship gets away from them in the night, forcing the crew and the dwarf elementalist to work through the night, and the early morning to regain the ground that's lost.

By noon the next day, the Cloud Leaper is nearing the Travarian Maidens flank, the crew preparing grappels. Lu can't help but be glad that neither ship carries catapults, ballsita, of fire cannons.

[Lady Door]

Having donned her armor, Lu waits on deck. This time her shield is in her hand. She leans on it, watching the men prepare. Turning to face the Captain;
What is it that you're wanting from the 'Maiden?

It's cargo my dear.

[Lady Door]

Lu just nods.
Well, what are our orders then, Captain?

[fistandantilus4....]

For you two ladies, I'd think going after the elementalist would be a worthy task. He's been a kink in my sail all day. He's going to be one of the most dangerous besides. Deal with him.

[Lady Door]

Aye aye, Captain.Lu winks and goes to find Ky.

[fistandantilus4....]

Lu finds Kyla talking to one of the sailors, a very burly human man Lu recalls, Vance.

...Fine, and if I win, you owe me 50 silver.

They shake hands, Kyla turns, and smiles at Lu.

Aware that she's betting with money they don't have, Lu smiles and pulls Ky aside.
What are you doing?!

What does it look like? Getting us a bit of extra coin, that's all. All I have to do is get more kills than him.

Looking at the size of Vance, Lu can't help but question kyla's judgement.

The Cloud Leaper races ahead, catching quickly on the Maiden, stealing its' wind once it manages to maneuver into the correct spot. A ball of fire streaks from the rear of the pursued ship, crashing in to the fore deck of the Cloud Learper. Man shout and dive for cover. Others run up with buckets, dousing the deck, or return fire , raining arrows down on the Maiden.

Boarders ready! Grappels Readyyyy! Athernon callts out commands , relaying from the Captiain. Some men are climbing in to the rigging, preparing ropes with which to swing over to the Maiden.

Luthilien prepares herself for battle. Slowly, the sounds of the world around her fade away until all she can hear is the beating of her heart.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she breathes in deeply and envisions her body growing hard and strong. When she opens her eyes, she can feel the magic coursing through her skin.
Wood Skin Test

Wood Skin: The Wood Skin talent increases a character's resistance to physical damage bt causing the characters skin, and portions of the muscles and ligaments, to become tougher. When using this talent, the characters skin takes on the appearance of wood or bark.
The character must use one of his available Recovery Tests for Wood Skin each day the talent is used. The character can only use Wood Skin talent once per day, but the effect lasts for a full 24 hours, or until the character ends it. The character makes a Wood Skin Test, adding the result to both her Death Rating and her Unconcious Rating. Ther character can now takie more damage before dying or falling unconcious.

Lu's Death and Unconcious Ratings are now 71 and 61, respectively

The distnace between the ships closes rapidly. They pull along side, just as another firbell washes the starboard side deck. A few men scream as the flames tear in to them. Others dowse both their comrades and the deck with buckets of water.
Grappel lines fly across the empty space, catching on the deck of the Maiden. Men swing out on lines, competeing to be the first to board. Others leap across, or even slide down lines that have caught on higher lines. The crew pulls the ships together as the melee begins on the Maidens' deck. The Cloud Leaper is still on her port side and above by about ten feet. Many sailors simply jump the gap.

Kyla is beside Lu, ready for action, sword drawn, carrying her shield and armor.
Alright Luthielien, the elementalist is ours. He's still on the aft castle. Don't bother slowing down. You hit a man, and move on. I'll finish whoever you start. Someone starts slowing you, pull back and switch out with me. I'll do the same, and we'll leap frog across the deck.

Lu just nods, caught up in the focus of battle. She and Ky have battled together long enough to no longer need words, relying on signals and years of practice to guide them through.
When the ship nears the deck where she stands, Lu leaps at the nearest 'Maiden sailor.
Acrobatic Strike

Acrobatic Strike: Characters use the Acrobatic Strike talent to make incredibly graceful, leaping, spinning attacks. In combat situations, use Acrobatic Strike for the characters' Attack Test. Add the ranks of Acrobatic Strike to the character's Physical Defense Rating for the rest of the Combat Round. (1 pt. Strain)
Acrobatic Strike: Rank 3, Step 11, d10+d8 Result: 7,6 Total: 13. Physical Defense for Lu is now at 12.

Lu and Kyla leap out in to the air, Kyla following in her wake. For a moment , time seems to drag out, as Lu clears the ship rail, jumping over the eight foot gaping maw, a clear fall in to oblivion. It's almost as if shecan see the blue sky below her, the land stretching out in to infinity. She's over the edge and commited, living on the razor edge of life. It's a certainty that one mistake here means death.

She clears the ship's rail. Her blade strikes a man across his sword arm before her boots even touch the deck. Another man moving at her with a small axe is cut aside as Kyla lands next to her, clearing room for her sister to move.

Kyla simply gestures with her shield toward the castle, then blocks a blow from a heavy sword with her shield.

[Lady Door]

Lu moves toward the aft castle, her eyes narrowed. She can see the Elementalist on the deck, his back is to her and his hands spinning as he weaves.
Moving quickly, she heads for the Elementalist. She is Death.

There are numerous skirmishes across the deck, men hewing at each other in twos and threes and fours. It's by no means a clear path/ Kyla and Lu begin clearing it.

An ork who's just disarmed and cut one of the Cloud Leapers men, turns quickly, slashing at Lu as she leads the way across the deck. He's not as skilled as sh is tough, slipping in the blood on the deck as he turns.

Lu sneers at the ork and moves to meet him.

Before he even knows what's happening, Lu has her sword up and cutting through the air, headed straight for his chest.

Her sword slices at the ork, coming down and slashing in to his sholder just above the line or his hardened leahter armor. It bites deep, cutting in to the armor at a seam and slicing it open. Lu opens a large gash that gushes blood across the deck. The ork howls in pain ,then lashes out in a fury.

Damage =24 not armor defeating

Avoid Blow: Rank 2, Step 10, d10+d6 Result: 4, 6, re-roll 4 Total: 14. Beat the ork's attack by 2.

Once again the battle slows to a crawl, playing out in the periphery of her vision. For right now, this ork is the only thing that matters. He is what stands between her and her goal: the Elementalist.
Her cut slices the ork at the shoulder, and as she watches.. she can see his other arm come up and swing a heavy sword at her head. She ducks as the sword whistles by over her head.
Suddenly, the battle rages back into full speed and Lu can hear the ork roar in fury.

Lu snarls at the injured ork and whips her sword back up and around, cutting into the orks' side.

The sword cleaves throug hte orks side. His scream is cut short as the cleave takes his lungs. He collapses to the ground. As Lu recovers her balance, Kyla races past her, and slams her sword into the side of an elven sailor. The sailor cries out, managing only a weak swing which she takes on her shield. She pushes him back, leaving room for Lu to run past.
