Your com looks normal. You take a look at the call placed to Happy. It gives you the time, date, and duration of the call, but not much else can be found. Everything appears to be in order, aside from the voilent photo of a dwarf in Trevors other hand.

For now Cat saves and encrypts the pertinnet parts of the files, deleting the rest. SHe takes some extra time to scan the file form the drone making sure there are no viruses attached. Then she encrypts everything and copies it to an OC, deleting it from her commlink.

Tired, she sets a few mroe watcher spirits, and gets some sleep.

Rising ofur hours later, she does some work while it's still day light out, working for five hours to make sure everything's taken care of. Once finished, she showers, exercises, then heads out to pick up her new bike.

Trevor examines the photo to see if there is information he can use to determine where Happy is.

A second glance at the photo is as disturbing as the last. Even in your line of work and feeding, you've never seen something l ike this. You notice that one of his eyes are missing. And his mouth is sewn shut.
You stare at the photo for a few more minutes when your com rings.

You find the directions in a message on your phone given to you by the Johnson from the Black lodge. The place you find is a decent shop. You get the bike. It seems to be better than yours. This guy wasnt kiddin.

Trevor gets a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach - a hold over from his mortality he reminds himself. He has a feeling that those who did this will be on the other line. He answers quietly:

A voice comes over the com. Sounds Feminine, but obviously filtered.
Did you enjoy the photo? I should hope so. Theres more where that came from.
The voice sounds as if its angry.

Cat spends the night out getting used to her new ride, then takes it in to a work shop, paying the grease monkey $200 for some work space. She spends the next three hours taking apart a number of arts of the bike, scanning it over and over again for tracers, then begins to thoroughly scour it's systems for any sort of spy programs, dormant viruses, trojans, etc.

Cat doesn't hang up yet, but she does activate her stealth and armor programs, and activates her IC incase of incoming programs, and starts her track program.

Going full VR, she runs a trace program w/ stealth enabled.

They would roll with a redirect if they know they're being traced or had it in palce before hand.

Its a Sinless com. And it was your "work" com[?spoiler]
The screen is blank for a while as you trace the call. While the trace is going through she hangs up. You get it just in time. A location appears on your com map. Just when you are about to look, you are sent a message. When you open it, you are shocked to see Smoke, tied up, bloody and gagged. Shes laying on the ground with her eyes open. They're more intense than anything you'd ever seen.

What he hell is with these people?! They might have well just texted me the word "trap!". Besides that, it could easily just be a forgery.

Cat runs a second program tracing Smoke's comm, but lets it run it's own course. The program can handle it on it's own since she set up the comm's security.

She concentrates on her trace, looking for the comm and other systems around it, such as street cams, and begins looking at the comm link's system, running an analyze routine on it to see if it's an ICd death trap, or a relay hub.

The message is simply a message. I can be traced back to the com. You have some trouble getting into the street cams.
Smokes com is located back at her apartment.

Was analyzing the commlink not the message.Was lookling to hack in to it, and wasn't about to go in blind. :)

Cat quickly copies all of Smoke's information from her commlink onto an OC, then fries her commlink completely with an attack program as she continues scanniong the new commlink.

Multitasking (next initiative pass) she also quickly hacks in to one of the cams in the area, trying to see where the commlink is located before her mystery caller moves on.

You have very little trouble getting into the system at security level. Its good to be good, you think. The system is at your command.

What's the results of analyzing the commlink? HSould include stuff like system rating, any IC, dasiy chained systems, that sort of thing.

Cat quickly scans the area zeroeing in on the IP address of where she traced the commlink to. Remembering that she isnt' the only hacker out there, Cat sets her link on alert, and double chekcs that it's in hidden mode.

They're isnt a whole lot on it. Prolly a disposeble. You get the number, and the location of the phone. Most likely the location of the user as well. There has been another call placed. Two actually, To a number you recognized. The first one, Smokes, the second, to Trevor.

seeing no IC in place, cat hacks it quickly, looking for any other informatino, such as where it was registered as being bought form, other areas that it's passed through, since it would automatically log any IP addresses it passes through, such as walking down a street, passing various hubs, just like one would leave a trail passing through various web sites.

Time to see how good these guys are

You get a location of where it was bought from. You can tell its had some work done in order to be hard to trace. The icon moves as if its walking, then it stops after 5 minutes. It doesnt move. You watch for ten more minutes until you relize,
It was ditched.

The cams show a bunch a people walking down the street. None that stand out right away. After a few minutes of looking, you see a woman tossing somthing small and black into a garbage can.

What was on the cams? If it's moving, something's got to be moving it. If it's a perons, they proably have their own commlink that I can find from the local hub and hack.

There is an intense - yet instantaneous battle in Trevor's mind. He weighs the balance carefully and eventually decides that an alive and very grateful Happy is far better than a dead one. Ahhh, hell! I will regret this but if you don't play, you can't win.

Trevor laughs, Some importance, yes. I think that you have overestimated his value to me; however, I have my uses for him. I am curious what you offer; however, I have no need to prove my worth to the world in any form or fashion.
