Cat makes a *shush* gesture and mouths 'be patient'. She directs the cab to stop at a vending machine and buys Smoke a set of flats, then reenters the cab , and has her change. She flags down a second cab, and gives the clothes a toss in the trash after sanitizing them. They stay in the original cab, although she uses an ilusion to make it look as if they changed vehicles. Once Smoke has nothing on her from when she was taken, she talks.

First, check the astral. Make sure we're not being spied on. Suiting action to words, she summons a spirit of her own, instructing it to guard them against attacks or spies, while Smoke checks the astral plane with her Perception. Once satisfied they are indeed alone, she switches off her commlink, and simply tosses Smoke's in the trash as the cab pulls away.

Thinking better of that thought, since they already got her once, they head for a hotel, and she asks Smoke to heavily ward the room. I've got some data hunting to do. Make sure this place is secure please.

Happy looks nervously. Um....yeah I suppose that would do it..

Miko sat in her lodge, a small space in an upper level of a low rent rundown apartment building somewhere in Renton. The place wasn't so bad that squatters would move in. Miko did pay rent on the palce, under a false identity. but she didn't live there. She only used it for it's special purpose. it was her sanctuary, her place of commune.

Her senses reached out to the distannt metaplanes of her Allies. Here, on this world, she was surrounded by them. The Lodge was overgrown with UV lamps and vines, making the place a minutre indoor jungle. Smal insects of all varieties moved about , whale dozens of mantis hunted them for food. This was a secret place of power for someone like her. It was steeped in the opwer of Mantis. here she had chrysallis' that mantis' used for egg sacs, here she had their withered remains, here she had taken a man, and later his life, to bring true power to Mantis, and her self. It was here she would grow more powerful.

Opening her self to Mantis, she channeled her strength and energy into her aura. Her goals were simple; become a better hunter. To do that she needed to hide, and she needed to see. Masking was a basic ability for many initiates, and to use it, she need to be able to truely sense the astral.

Another body was lying on the floor. This time and ork male, a nobody from the streets. it was a simple matter to override his will, make him follow her. No one would notice another SINless missing. It wasn't even a crime. She'd taken his head with the wakasashi, and fed it to the spirit she'd summoned. The Scout would be able to teach her what she needed to know.

She drank in the power from the spirit, from the mans life force, consumed the fallen to grow stronger as Mantis did. His strength would become hers, and the astral would open wide to her. It was not true power, not the living embodiement that Mantis promsied she would have. Not Yet. It would take time, and discipline. But she would have it. It was a step.

The astral space opens in Miko's mind. She feels the energy flow through her body, enter as she inhales, and exits as she exhales.

The mana swirls all around her. She hears voices all around her.

Miko opens her eyes. She can feel the strength granted from the Mantis flowing through her veins. She turns to the clock and relizes 4 hours have passed.

She hears a raspy voice in her head.

Go forth my hunter. Offer us more.

Using her command of the Scout spirit, she comands the insects to consume the body left behind.
A thousand little insects should take care of that little mess long before it starts to smell.

Now, back to work.

Miko gathers her things and heads to the garage below. She climbs onto her bike, and rips out into the night, headed for the hotel room where Smoke is staying.

No better place to do some hacking than somewhere disposable, with a friend watching your back after all.

Back at the hotel room, 'Cat brought Smoke some japanese stir fry for a dinner, then sat down to work, first quickly sending Trevor a message.

With that, she pulled out a small plastic bag, tossed out a new Evo Metalink to Smoke, and some parts for her own commlink. She then pulled out some tools and switched out a few parts form hre 'link, the parts that would identify her commlink as hers, giving it a new IP Address. She'd already used her backdoor into the phone system to clear her old account and make a new one making her old information worthless for tracking her, and now Smoke as well.

Having the young elf in the room was nice. It was always good to have company you oculd trust watching your back, especially attractive company. She'd ahve to visit miko later as well, but she'd have to wait a whil to make sure she wasn't being followed. being trraced back to the yakuza would be a bad thing. Then there was work to catch up on ...

Quickly, 'Cat connects to Trevor's commlink, routing the line through a few minor corp hosts and running a reroute trace on the way to slow down anyone trying a back trace. She makes it as a normal call this time, ringing the phone.

Assuming Trevor agrees, ShadowCat disconnects and gets ready for a night at the Inferno. She lets Smoke know where she'll be heading, suggesting the girl get some rest, then packs up her Ceska, and heads out, taking an hour or so to just drive around the city, taking in the night air, making sure she arrives on time .

She oulls up on her bike, dismounting in the parking lot, wearing form fitting purple and black synthleather pants with a matching short jacket, and a black shirt underneath. Her bangs have changed to a mathcing purle, as has the tail ends of her hair. Her eyes are concealed behind her shades, and her ceska is under her jacket. She transmits 200 :nuyen: to the bouncer as she walks up to avoid the line and the pat down.

Trevor is waiting for Cat and slowly drumming his fingers on the table when she shows up. He smiles and motions to the seat next to him. Good evening. I hope that you have some interesting information. I might like a bite to eat at some point; however, I don't think any old thing will do. I am in the mood for psychotic employers.

She takes the proferredseat calmly, glancing around. Well you'll have to wait a bit for that most likely. The first one shoudl be easy enough. Apparently he has a taste for joy girls. We just need to find a place to "meet up" and exploit him. I have a plan, something easy. There's a street drug called Ory, that's based off of BTL tech. It's nano paste you spread on your temples, then get down to business. It heightens the senses from physical interaction. I'll load up some Black IC into his dose, and you can be waiting if it doesn't take him down on it's own.

The other one is trickier. Apparently he's a psychotic shadowrunning mage. Any ideas on how to handle one of those?

Trevor smiles. Expedient, yes. He pauses for a moment and then shrugs. I suppose that will do just fine. He is going to die anyway, so why not use the expedient method. Though part of me longs for some of the rube-goldberg-stype machinations from the flat-vid era.

Called 'em rube-goldberg devices. Realizing that the explanation would take too long, he simply says, Kids! No, your idea is probably best.
