Grack, all sewer peeps, Winter:
Still looking to diagnose the problem and fix it if it's easy (like just turning on the water) or find more stuff if it's hard. * Comms +/DIY manual: Assuming that the signal won't reach us, as long as there's a manhole within Signal 1 range of the work site Box can just throw his throwaway commlink up there and use it as a repeater for his brain commlink (which is pretty much what he does all the time, anyway, to spoof the commcodes). * Tools: depends on what is needed/broken, requires GM call. Turning on the water through a shut off valve probably requires a breaker bar (if the valve lever is attached but rusted shut or something) or special-head wrench (like a fire hydrant wrench). Reconnecting the pipes will require all that and a pipe wrench and something to seal the connection. Splicing the pipes together (no remaining connection to the main line and no fitting for it) won't require a valve wrench, but will require either some new pipe or a stand in (like a rubber radiator hose), and something that can put a big enough hole in the main pipe (drill, grack's axe might work, but finding something to fit tight to the gash would be a trick). * Water quality: Box will posit, IC when it comes up, that all we need is running water. Purification devices, if necessary, will be installed downstream after we take a quick trip to Home Depot. |

Hey Everyone –
I have good news and bad news. The good news is I got back safely from my vacation on Sunday. The bad news is I returned to find my computer had crashed. Not being tech savvy myself, I can only go with the recommendation of my wife (computer science major) and brother-in-law that my ancient low-tech computer (a.k.a. The Affront to the SOTA Curve) is now best consigned to the scrapheap, and I should move on to the latest and greatest in modern computer technology. I am only able to have computer access at work right now, and since I’m getting ready to leave for GenCon tomorrow night, I’ve spent most of my time catching up here from last week and getting things in order for when I leave. I will try to carve out a block of time next week to catch up, even if I have to stay late at work to do so, and to get up and running on a new computer as soon as possible. My brother-in-law is currently hunting one down for me. Since I’m leaving for GenCon tomorrow night, consider me down comms from this point until I surface again sometime next week. If anyone needs anything or has any questions, feel free to post them and I will get back to you ASAP upon my return. |

@GenCon folks - Have a BLAST, travel safe, and have an extra drink (or 7) for me! I WILL be there next year dammit, if it kills me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I planed to wait in my flat for a few hours till X gets inks reply and head up towards the new HQ, anything you think i need to run into? (avoiding NE 137th since the howling is still coming from that direction at the current point in X's story). Other than that ill just end up cruising along the evergreen heights and the park look for drug deals and Ink in general.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'm still in the game. I committed the cardinal sin of falling off the map without telling people in advance and I'm terribly sorry, but I am more or less contentedly, moved across country now.
I'll catch up tomorrow, I hope. |

Hey Everyone –
My apologies for my continued absence. Work has been really busy lately, leaving me unable to squeeze in time to post, and my lack of a home computer has continued to be a significant obstacle to my ability to post. I’m going to make time to talk with my brother-in-law this week and finish specifying what I want on my new computer, so hopefully he can put in the order this week, I get my computer next week, and then I’ll be up and running next week or the week after. That is my projected timetable, my apologies for the continued delay. When/where possible I will try to make time to post, but work has been hectic lately, so that goal is looking less like a realistic possibility and more like a ‘distant hope’, if you will. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Never fear though, I shall return soon! WinterRat1 |

Can't the co-gm's do some of this stuff? Like, we really need GM involvement with why Rico's doing but it's not plot central like Legion and the rest. I'd REALLY like to keep this going, but I don't have anything to do but wait til a GM answers Dantic's post.

There are no Co-GMs. They all dropped out on me a LONG time ago. My apologies again for the continued delay while I get my computer situation sorted out.

Bearclaw - Nevada and I were helping out with recruitment. We weren't Co-GM's. That may have been where some of the confuse came from. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Positive Update: My brother-in-law has found me a computer and should be ordering it in the next day or so. He says I should receive the computer a week or so after that. So hopefully my absence will not extend past 1-2 more weeks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Thanks again to everyone for your patience and understanding. Once again I offer my sincere apologies for the delay. I will be back and on track as soon as I am able. |

Thanks for the bump Meriss.
Good news everyone. I finally(!) received my laptop yesterday. It took extra long because I was looking for a laptop that ran Microsoft XP. Apparently most laptops these days run Vista, and a lot of them had problems when you loaded XP onto them. Anyway, I have a wedding this Saturday that I am the MC for, and I have to get the house ready because people are staying at our place, so I’m not sure how much time I will have to update this week, but I will try to get caught up and reacquainted with where everyone is at. Next week you can expect to start seeing posts from me to move the action forward again. Thanks again to everyone for their patience, and my sincere apologies for making you all wait so long before I could get back on track. All the best, WinterRat1 |

Unfortunately my home computer has also died and now I am waiting on the new one to arrive, so my posting will be sporadic at best for the next two-three weeks.

Man, this is awkward.
I feel really bad about leaving you guys out to dry, but I kinda had a penetrating head injury (that's doctor talk for "should have gotten a cyberskull, chummer") and posting wasn't really a big priority for a while there. Also, me don't type so gudz now. Sorry, that's a bad joke. Sort of. My right hand is kinda slow on the draw these days but other than that no problems. Figured I owed you guys an apology though because if I were to be totally honest I could have managed to give you guys a heads up considerably earlier. |
