Is Jaya ready to go or do I need to do something else? I'm back now, btw. :) |

Jaya makes it into the doorway. If he stops and listens, he can hear the gang outside shouting as they move closer to the bodies on the other side of the street. Looking around, he notices a back door that leads east, a broken wall that leads north east into the same alleyway and a set of half broken stairs that lead up. |

Just a quick heads up. I am going up north on Wed. and Thurs to open a new store and will be basically working 18 hour days with travel time so I will likely *not* be around, unless I haul the laptop up there and use it during my lunches n' crap. If I can't do that, expect me to post something (If there's stuff to post to) when I get back and wake up on Friday :D |

Moved Bockscar a little bit, had him look north on 142nd, cross the street, and then move towards 126th. I'm assuming there's nothing north of him; if that's too far I'll just cut out the last line of the post. OOC: By 'the drag' he means 124th street. |

Hello, first combat participants of DITG! Time to give our combat system a test drive. You guys are now in Combat Time. No surprise on either side. After all, in this environment everyone's alert for trouble, no matter how casual they're acting. I put up the Combat Template in the Wiki under the 'Action Phase' link, titled Sushi Shack Showdown. Yes I am a sucker for alliteration. Sue me. :) Action Phase Deadline for Combat Turn 1 is Thursday, June 28, 23:59:59 US Central Time. If there are any questions, let me and Konsaki know, otherwise we'll start working through this thing. Good luck! You're going to need it. :vegm: Badmarsh, Nevada, Bockscar Still letting you all post until the 00:21:00 deadline, my goal is to give you guys an opportunity to meet up and introduce yourselves to one another before your scheduled scene. I did not spot any questions or requests from any of you for me, so proceed as you were. If I missed something you needed from me, just let me know. EDIT: Rob, your comment is fine. At the moment, your absolute location isn't a concern so much as your relative location to Badmarsh and Nevada. I'm letting you three work out the general details of where you all eventually end up meeting face-to-face. Felix & Aziz You two are up to post, Shade is deliberately and obviously pausing to give you both a chance for your input before continuing. |

I'm ashamed to admit this, but after Mister Juan's post I tried too, and I couldn't do it. At least not without sounding either drunk or like I was making racial slurs.

Question on combat formatting: Do I post general intentions in the table and the rolls for the turn below the table or do I post them in some other location? |

Pausing to pay attention as they come to the "intersection" of 126th Ave & 142nd Ln. Intuition (4) + Perception (3) + Audio Enhancement (3) = 10 dice [5] 4 4 2 2 [5] 1 [5] [5] [5] Hits:5 I'm assuming with that roll I might hear Box's approach, or at least the approach of someone. If not I'll edit on Friday. :D |

Post general intentions in the table so I have a basic idea of what you're up to. Then copy and paste the 'Combat Template' and then fill it out as written (1 template for each IP you have), replacing the 'Combat Template' title with your character name. Separate your PC's template(s) out from the general information and other PC's templates by using a line above and below it to make it easier to read. Sparky or Vegas - I'm thinking we'll need a separate page for each fight to make it easier to read and reference. Maybe something like this: Action Phase - Fight 1 - Fight 2 - Etc Resolution Phase - Fight 1 - Fight 2 - Etc That's just a suggestion, alternatively, maybe we could do the links within each page, like we did for Locales or NPCs? Do it how you think best, but I'd start thinking about how you want to begin organizing it. Thanks! |

Mister Juan - Since Aziz and Felix are the PCs, I'll let you respond to what's been said so far before Shade says anything.

As noted in my last IC post ("...Grack faded into a nearby alley to watch...From his vantage point lurking deep in the shadows, he could see the others talking...and for now he was most content simply to wait and watch."), Grack is not out in the street with the others but already out of sight behind Plastic Sushi. Didn't roll stealth at the time cuz there was no opposition. Wondering if I can roll stealth now for my current hide, or whether I need to make that my first Complex Action on the template-thingie (assuming the first combat turn or two will be occupied with macho posturing and Black Plague covering the intervening distance...). Also, wondering if it's okay for Hammerpackers, since they've been fighting together for some time, to confer tactically OOC. |

If legion and crew are at 141/124th and Fool and Child are down at 132/124th is there any chance of us seeing them at any point during the coming conflict. Visual perception test w/ cybereyes = 8 dice 4, 4, 5, 2, 3, 3, 6, 5 = 3 hits. |

Grendel and I filled out the combat page in different ways but I believe that the way that I did it is correct. Let me know if that is not the case. |

Adamu - Fair enough, you may roll Stealth for your current hide as a 'free' roll prior to combat since your IC post described him as fading into the shadows.
Note that Legion's orders were for Grack and Thumper to take these Plaguers out, so obviously if Grack moves to follow that order in a manner that causes him to leave his concealment, that Stealth roll will no longer apply. Abbandon - That's Konsaki's call, although keep in mind there's a distance of about 9 city blocks between the two groups' locations. He and I will discuss as appropriate. Unarmed - From what I could tell, you guys both filled it out the same way. The only two differences were: 1. Legion used a free action, Doc did not. 2. Legion specified an active vision mode, which as a human he had to do while Doc did not since his Thermographic is natural. All, especially Grendel and Pragma - The original intention was that you would fill out your actions for the entire Combat Turn, so we can handle everything by Combat Turn, not Initiative Pass. So for anyone with multiple Initiative Passes (Legion and Thumper) please make sure you fill in a Combat Template for EACH initiative pass you have in the Combat Turn, not just the first one. After looking at the chart, I can see why doing it by Initiative Pass might be helpful. However, the problem is for those with 2 or even 3 passes, I know from experience those few people can hold up everything. Even if we did 2-3 days for IP 1, then 1 day for IP 2, then 1 day for IP 3, that's still 4 days to get through the Action Phases for 1 Combat Turn, plus 3-4 days for the Resolution phases. That means we would get through about 1 Combat Turn every 8 days, when under our current system we could get through two full Combat Turns in the same amount of time. Since speed is a major goal of our procedures, for now we will continue to run combat by Combat Turn instead of by Initiative Pass until it is shown the system does not work, in which case we'll begin exploring alternatives. Therefore, please continue to fill out the Combat Templates per our current procedures; but feel free to weigh in with comments, questions, thoughts, suggestions, and criticism so we can begin evaluating our Combat Procedures and start getting a feel for what we can do to improve them. |

I have a post to write, but Im going to hold off on it until I can pin down the time if/when shots are fired during the fight 9 blocks away. What better way to interrupt a sentence then with some gunfire.
auditory perception test = 3 dice 13 05 01 = 2 hits By my mesurements, that puts us roughly 4000 ft apart. |

@WR1
We originally had done it differently, but Grendel has since changed his to match mine, so now I look foolish. Also, Doc has cybereyes, so I decided to specify his vision mode. |
