Felix also has a bike, which is currently stashed somewhere around the old Splintered Crash turf.

I'd also like to state that this game is damn awesome! I spent most of my day thinking "I can't wait to read the next post!"

Heck yes! I agree, this game rocks on toast!

That being said it's about time to bring Ink outof his artistic state. And into his party hearty state.

Unarmed and Lindt - Glad life's turned around in a way that you two will be able to be more involved in the game, it's great to have you both with us!

Also, Shade has a bike, also stashed around the old Splintered Crash turf.

Mister Juan - I know I owe you that PM! My bad on that. I will get it to you ASAP.

From Grendel to me via email on Nov. 15:

QUOTE
Working on a military network that has the dumpshock.com site blocked.  In about a week I should have access to a network which will allow me out to the forums.

Given the rather pivotal point at which the game is currently at, I'm going to give him until after the Thanksgiving break to post. I figure next week will generally be slow for posting anyway, so the delay is no biggie.

If we don't hear anything from Grendel by Nov. 26 or so (more than a week after his self-projected return) I'll post something to keep the game moving without robbing the game and group of the opportunity to play out the Grack-Nevada-Legion scenario.

Not only that, but as far as I'm concerned anyone putting their tail on the line for their nation's armed services deserves all the slack we can cut them. I'm certain I'm far from the only person who feels that way.

Grendel just emailed me his post, which I posted for him. So the Legion post that just went up is not mine, it's his. Just so you all know I didn't take control of Legion.

He reports his access to Dumpshock will be spotty, but he will try and keep it up.

Please note that due to RL factors and other things, the time stamps probably don't mesh perfectly, so I went with the most recent time as the time Legion acted. Don't read too much into it and assume it was hestiation/reluctance/cowardice/whatever on Legion's part. I just used the last time stamp because all the recent posts were reflecting on the building tension in the Grack-Legion-Nevada situation, so it didn't make sense for that to start unfolding before everyone could size up the situation.

As it stands, Grendel's Legion post is the last thing to have happened, and for whatever reason has happened after everyone has had a chance to react to the building tension. So just read Grendel's posts, don't read too much into the timestamps involved, since they're due more to RL factors than anything in game.

Posting is still open to all. Have at it!

Thanks for the patience guys, I'm working to resolve this situation. I really like this game as well, more than I thought I would when WinterRat1 first suggested it. I know that I've got a central role to play as well, so I'm trying to keep up with things. Good posts all around, by the way.

Forget all the color codes....

@Winter - although the confrontation is over, still maintaining the spell until further notice.

@Grendel et al - not sure if we have anything concete coming up in terms of things to do. If there is some task someone wants Grack to actually perform, all well and good.
But as long as people are milling around talking, he is likely to get bored and slip off on his own - many things to be done.
So let me know if there are any specific requests/reasons not to go get some things done.

All - Situation with Grack being (sort of) resolved, don't forget many of you have to report in with what you did or did not find. So in addition to role-playing/discussing/pledging loyalty and the like, reporting is probably the next thing that should be done, since that will probably produce concrete things to do.

If you choose to slip off though, you can. I have stuff that I have hanging in the background waiting to happen...bwaahahahahahhahaahhahahahaha :vegm:

I mean, I stand ready to move the game forward whenever appropriate. ;)

Not being an Arabic speaker, I probably mangled it, but "Kiramo bemek, zift!" is supposed to read something like "Suck my dick, scum!"

Bockscar's reply translates to "Don't talk. I speak arabic."

I think the root of the implied argument between Nevada, Aziz and Bockscar is the vague shadowtalk on the forum implying mysterious higher powers behind Evergreen heights. That doesn't make sense to me (or, at least, that they would have response capacity or a big vested interest).

Knowledge skill roll for bockscar - has anyone screwed with or tried to occupy evergreen in the recent past? Did they get jacked? How?

Intuition 4 + Redmond Gangs Knowledge 6 = 10 dice, (2,6,6,6,4,5,4,5,1,5) = 6 hits. Somehow.

Evergreen is on Nevada's old turf therefor I'm taking some assumptions and liberties to run with the fact she might have a better handle on what does go on and what HAS gone on in the past...(WR feel free to to reign me in if I'm overstepping my bounds)

And yeah I'm going off the info on the wiki, but really even ignoring the "shadowtalk" stuff at the end, there's still a good question in the "facts" about the place that Slippy isn't the head Troll, just the manager of sorts. And *someone* has put enough money into it (for the electricity, food and matrix service alone) that they'd want to protect that interest regardless if there's a bigger name behind it (Mafiia, Yaks, etc.)

I'm not trying to make Slippy "bigger than life" or anything, just more of a head's up to Legion (and anyone else with other assumptions) more than anything else if he's expecting to just stroll on in and take over without either paying up or making a deal for space that we could all encounter some resistance. Not that a few of us are really up for another fight right now ;)

I've got a post to throw more of Nevada's $0.02 in there, but I have to run out the door like NOW.. so it won't be up till later :D

To everyone’s knowledge (this includes Nevada/Doc’s knowledge of Evergreen from it being on their turf, Bockscar’s knowledge skill roll, any other sources of knowledge any of you have) no one has screwed with or tried to occupy Evergreen without paying or by force in the recent past. No one knows why, it just hasn’t been tried. To the best of everyone’s recollections, whoever tries to jack/forcibly occupy Evergreen will be the first.

Note that at least part of it is probably because Evergreen does have some security on hand. Slippy is a troll, and he does have some hired muscle to back him up. The muscle isn’t part of any particular gang; they’re just muscle that works there and keeps the peace in exchange for a place to crash.

They aren’t supremely badass, but they’ve apparently been tough enough to keep any trouble out of the Evergreen so far. So the security is probably reasonable, both with respects to quality and quantity. Not overwhelming, but there is some there, and so far it’s been enough.

It probably helps too that even in the Barrens, ‘don’t drek where you eat’ still holds true. Fighting in places where a lot of people live tend to make a lot of people very angry, and for most Barrens dwellers, fighting over shelter isn’t high enough on their priority list to deal with the hassle. Fighting over sex, drugs, booze, chips, and money is much more worthwhile.

That answer everyone’s questions?

And as the author of the shadowtalk, I was only trying to inject some mystery into Evergreen Heights. Honestly I don't know who or what was behind the scenes in Unarmed's mind. Unarmed, care to field this one?

All – Just so we’re clear, it doesn’t matter what Unarmed and Meriss’s original intentions were. The shadowtalk has been posted, and the entry was written by Unarmed in such a way as to leave a high level of ambiguity in your minds regarding the Evergreen. Since the game is already up and running, I can do whatever I please with the hooks given without regard for whatever the specific (but unstated) intentions of the original authors were. Of course, if they feel REALLY strongly about it one way or the other, I’m opening to discussing it via PM with them, but by and large I think it’s better if you all don’t know the real story. After all, if you want to know the truth, certainly I’m not stopping you from finding out, one way or another. :ork

We are now seeing the results of both the Shadowtalk and the Location Entry, which is to give fertile grounds for an IC discussion debating the nature of Evergreen. In other words, they’ve done exactly what they were supposed to do!

You have taken information that is common to everyone and drawn differing conclusions, and are now arguing about those conclusions. That is crystal clear evidence that all the preparation we did has had a material impact on the game, even in the little details of how each of you sees the different locations in the world.

I’ve told you all what your characters know for certain; the differing beliefs they have as a result of those facts are what make role-playing fun! So by all means keep having this discussion, because it’s really entertaining, especially from a GM standpoint. Great role-playing all around! :)

Wellp, you summarized the relevant in character common knowledge well enough for me. Bockscar will, therefore, continue to advocate his position with tact and respect.

So much for being "better"... Got hit with round 2 of the flu/ebola/whatever it is again today. Fever, aches, chills and general dizziness (more so than usual)... May not be around much till after Wed. between getting ready for another show (assuming I'm healthy) and trying to fight off this crap. I'm chugging the vitamin C and airborne as much as possible, it'd be nice if I could manage more than a couple hours of sleep in there too.

Just another update as to why I'm being so flaky lately. And my apologies if you're seeing this a million times in all the games we're in together.

If it makes you feel better, Legion didn't address Felix, Child, or Shade either. Pretty much all the people who didn't speak up are assumed to fall into line, I guess. :)

Infiltration test to be moving as quietly and in the shadowsy as possible.

Skill + Specialization + Attribute - 2 for sustained spell = 6 dice

4 5 2 4 5 1 = 2 successes
