Wuzzah? Hrm... I just ran the numbers again to make sure and I still pan out to 350.
New sheet. Please point out where my math went wrong? [ Spoiler ]

We did have fun. Very low key concert for Jewel. She was playing with the Utah Symphony Orchestra at one of the skill resorts. They used a bunny slope as a natural amphitheater. I'm OK on the pounds to nuyen conversion and I knew about the CSP. However, using the spreadsheet built for SR4, I show that I am right at 350BP. Where do the other 49 come from? |

The problem with the tech is it's more advanced than it should be, but in odd ways.
I'm kinda working on the basis that there is electricty in use (primarily the telegraph) but the phone wasn't invented until 1876 so what does that means? Certainly you can't transmit visual data electronically (I'm going with the computer screen being a physical dot matrix thing, possibly that you can 'print screen' by sliding a sheet of paper into a frame and it punches the holes out, which you can then place in a stamping press or something to make a print of the image ofcourse the resolution of the dotmatrix or whther or not you can scan image into a computer is a whole other matter) but what about sound? Not to mention the ability to play back sound wasn't around until about the same time as the phone, so where does that put the status of surviellance gear? Atleast photo's were around I geuss. So far I'm trying to figure out what would work and what wouldn't but I might just have to post a list of items and get a yay or nay from Meriss. The more basic stuff is easier though like turning the latex facemask into the more old fashioned disguise and makeup kit, except that I don't have the disguise skill myself. I think the difference between my character and Zens should be fairly pronounced. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the impression that in this setting Technomancers are more 'use magic that works on technology' rather than the standard SR4 'hardwired brains that can interperet and interact with computer signals'. And my character being something of a technophile that thinks magic is silly and will ultimately be a false grail of human advancement, I think he won't much care for Ze German, which I coincidentally took as a language so I'll be able to insult him in his own tongue! And I could have sworn I posted my character stats. Was it removed for some reason? Ohwell back to finishing that gear list and character background. @Meriss: Are you going to replace Electronics and Cracking skill groups with something else like SteamTech or Clockwork or are you just going to call them Equivalent skills, and is that 5 CSP in ADDITION to the 5 we got for doing the questionnaire? If not I already spent it. |

Meriss -- I'll drop one of my contacts by one level, and I have to get back to you on the silk thing. I literally just bought a few things, and then clicked on the "magical goods -- refined silk" button on the character generator over and over again until I got close to 5,000 bucks. It should be between 2,500 and 3,000 worth (given how little other stuff I had), though.

@Alex: Feel free to check my math. 170BP in regular stats, 50 in special, 24bp in contacts - 15 free points = 5 bp spent, 106 in skills, 4bp in Resources - 20 negative add 5 positive.
So 170 50 106 5 4 -20 ___ 320 350-320=30BP remaining. @Prae: My bad. You are fine. Add your CSP to your sheet and roll starting Cash. Unless you did it already. Also you still have 6 free contact points. These can only be spent on contacts. @Critias: Don't drop points yet just yet, I may be wrong. @DEBO: That's the CSP you got for the questionaire. I'll just be using the skills as is and hand waving the rest. @All: Don't start panicking just yet, I seem to have been mixed up about Edge. I thought you had to buy from 0, when in reality it's from 1. *sigh* @Fist: My Edge mistake means you have another 10BP to play with |

@Meriss: Updated the Sheet on this page with CSP's, Starting cash, and 1 Extra Contact.
@marghos Yeah, I suppose knowing you and your sister would be ok. I'm kinda playing the "new to London" type guy, but I figure we could have met when I was doing my residency at the hospital. |

@Meriss: Martys close combat group 2 (20bp) will break down to couple of separate skills...
... #1; Blades (S: knives) 2(4) [10bp] ... #2; Unarmed Combat (S: Dirty fighting) 2(4) [10bp] @Prae, sounds good. So dr.John Sebastian and Marty know each others they have enjoyed conversations and maybe they have sometimes visited local pubs and clubs... |

@marghos: Roger. A few points, you have 5 points to spend, what's your tool kit for, and Medikit x 2 is that Supplies or actual kits?
@All: OOC in five. IC to follow. |

Meriss, I can't believe that I am turning down points; however, I am sure that my count is correct. I double checked the math and the spreadsheet formulas. The following reflects my slightly revised sheet (per the 5CSP and Contact House Rule) Attributes: 180 Edge: 20 Magic: 40 Skills: 106 Adept: 5 Resources: 5 (I am still working out on what to spend my remaining 3500 pounds.) Contacts: 29 Contact House Rule: -15 Negative Qaulities: -20 Total: 350 I added the 5 CSP directly to Knowledge Skills: Chinese: 3 Hindi : 2 Did I miss something on how the CSP work? |

Ok, let see. 5 points to spend, hmmm knowledge skills are calling, are they one-to-one basis? If yes then following knowledgeskills are envolving and +1 point/die to French (S: speak) 1(3) > 2(4) +1 point/die to Indian traditions 1 > 2 +1 point/die to London High society 2 > 3 And this is all new knowledge skill: 2 points to Theathres (S: Plays and Actors) - > 1 (3) Marty and his lovely wife has been visited theatres and those afterparties... Lets see what I was thinkin about those kits.. Yeah, I was thinkin about those actual medkits not suplies but .... I'm happy with youd desicion ;) |
