Oh no intrusion. I love company. Although Grinder might flip out. he's funny that way. Crazy German man. :D

Anyway Doc, Grinder's been buggin me about starting up another ED game. I've already started teaching one player here on DS who diidn't even have a core book. So there's no problem there. I'm thinking I'll be opening up my game some time this week.

I already have on ED game with a player that has dissapeared. SO I have one opening there, that I think will be Fortunes.
But the new game is open except for laiced, pssobily Nerfherder, and Plan B. I usually go for four, so you're in the front of the line.

Hmm. That would be a great opportunity. I may just get that book out of storage tonight and see if I can do a crash-course on the basics. :) Out of curiosity, have there been any new editions or anything in the last four or five years? It's seriously been that long since I was given the book, so I have no idea. :)

@Doc - well there have been newer editinos. But if it makes you feel any better, I have the same old ass book in front of me as the one you're looking for. So our really old book notes will match!

No, because in ED, they show their true forms. Kenders are horrors.

30 disciplines and 8 races offer so many possibilities and all you wanna play is a Windlinger Nethermancer? Tss. Time for a change. :D

Seriously, do you gonna play another character in this game? If not, another player could take your spot.

Just to throw some oil on the fire but can Theran Windlings (the weird twisted ones) be Nethermancers?

Then you could say yeas to Plan B, we could declare her character killed at first meeting, and she doesn't get to play but you didn't stop her. Everyone is happy. Except Plan B better not mention this plan to her... :)

Hey Plan B. Play a Female Troll Sky Raider, basically a horned, gigantic Valkyrie. We good do with a melee tank. Or maybe an Archer of some sort.

So I am not allowed to join?

If I am, what edition of the rules are you using? I only have the first edition stuff but would try to locate the other publisher's books if need be.

I guess the mighty Fisty o' Doom meant that you're already owning a player slot. ;)

He's using the old FASA rules (1st edition), while I'll run with the RedBrick version. You can find their PDFs at the Battlecorp and Drivethrurpg and their hardcopy books at lulu.com/redbrick. Check them out, they're worth the money. :)

After some perusing of books Metatron and I have produced this modest request for the beasties Korian has bonded. (This of course presumes the Animal Bond rules suggested in Adept's Way 1 beast per rank).

A Sentinal Hawk (from Crystal Raiders)
A Stone Lion (also Crystal Raiders)
Two Crojan (Barsaive Boxed set and in my experience found in disturbingly large numbers all over Barsaive... We lost more party members to them than i care to remember)
And lastly a Skeorx...

It seems reasonable to me...

Okay, well I have almost every 1st ed. book produced but lack anything past that, nor do I have the extra cash to buy the RedBrick stuff. Does anyone have a PDF version of those books that I peruse?

Hm, never heard of 1 animal per rank in Animal Bond. That's what EPC says about the talent:

QUOTE (EPC)

Animal Bond
Step Number: Rank + Charisma
Action: Yes
Requires Karma: No Strain: 0
The Animal Bond talent creates a bond of trust between an adept and an animal, improving its Attitude towards him (see the Gamemastering chapter on p. 90 of the Gamemaster’s Compendium). The adept makes an Animal Bond Test against
the animal’s Social Defense. If the test succeeds, the animal takes a Neutral “live and let live attitude toward him. The adept may make additional tests to further improve the animal’s Attitude towards him, but must spend at least one week with the animal
between tests, treating it well during that time. Each subsequent increase requires an additional result level on the Animal Bond Test.
Once the animal’s Attitude increases to Loyal, it willingly takes risks for the adept and expects appropriate rewards for doing so. (This is more easily accomplished for an animal than for a Name-giver friend. All a dog really wants, for example, is lots of affection and enough food.) A Loyal animal will accompany the adept on adventures if he so desires. However, an animal will not maintain a better Attitude towards an adept than the adept shows to it. As a result, mistreatment, neglect, or abandonment of the animal can offset the effects of Animal Bond, worsening the animal’s Attitude towards the character.
The Animal Bond talent can only be used on non-sentient, natural creatures. It cannot be used to improve the Attitudes of Horrors, Horror constructs, or sentient beings of any kind.

For the animals: you don't want to have them all in Kratas?

The Skeorx won't be in Kratas, no worries. And yes, you can train and Animal Bond that beasts, it's just difficult. And they eat you, when you fail. :D

Any news about Plan B's character? Ork Wizard/ Archer olé!

I'm trying to remember where it was. It's been too long since I played ED I'm taking ages to remember where rules are. I'll let Metatron do the negotiating for her character.

Last time me and Metatron played ED she had a whole army of animals. My character was the only one who wasn't scared of the Skeorx, it had the advantage of being a useful creature even at higher circles as most creatures become useless or a liability.
