Thanks for the perspective, Fisty.
And Fortune, don't sweat it. I don't blame you for wanting to be 100% clear on everything that's on the table. I'm doing my best to try to provide that. And like I said before, if there is something you are trying to accomplish with your character that you can't achieve because of my restrictions, just pm me and we'll discuss it. I try not to be one of those inflexible, nazi-like GMs. I save that sort of fascism for the way I run my company's Network and Desktop support section. ;-) And that statement doesn't just apply to Fortune...if anyone out there is trying to accomplish a particular goal with their character but can't seem to hit it, let me know and we will work something out. |

I'm cool, and pretty much good to go ... almost. Incidentally, I will try to explain my problem with your wording above ...
As written, in your original chargen rules, all Skill Groups were limited to 5. This could mean that a person could purchase say, 8 Groups, all at 5 (plus up to 3 additional skills at 5). Now, when it comes time to add points, his final result will not be in line with your rules (due to the skill/group limitations), even though his first draft was perfectly fine before the additional build point allotment (as there was no numerical limit to the number of Skill Groups at 5, only individual skills). |

From an email he sent me, the limit on skills in the first post was supposed to apply to skillgroups AND skills. That got me too. I had to redact my character :( It's obvious what he meant once he pointed it out, but it is not the intuitive reading. |

Cthulhudream's right. That's what I meant. Sorry for the confusion. |

We are getting close to launch time, and there are a couple of posting rules for the actual game.
1. I will be posting content on Monday-Friday, usually in the morning or throughout the day. If I post content on a Monday and you don't reply before Tuesday morning, then you will be skipped and I will continue with the next posting. 2. I will only rarely post on weekends. And content posted there will usually not be time sensitive. 3. I know we all have life going on outside the game. But you can't post on a particular day/group of days, I'd really like for you to let me know in advance so I can make allowances. 4. If you have a particular rules question, post it in the OOC thread. Someone else might have the same question. 5. If you have a question about character knowledge, then post it in a PM. That way when you post shit in the IC thread like "That gunshot sounded like an AK-47, probably less than 100 meters away.", it will look like your character actually said it, rather than me saying it. 6. Please, please, please make sure you check your Dumpshock inbox often. I'll be sending a lot of communication that way. 7. I'll be posting game-relevant content on the website as well, so please make sure you check it fairly often. When I do put something of note up there, I'll try to make sure I echo it in the OOC thread. |

Took me five or so to come up with a character that was both acceptable, and not riddled with maths erorrs/total cluelessness. ;) Who else is in? :D |

Okay, here is the the roster I have so far: Lt. Colonel John Mosby: Team Leader, HUMINT Specialist (Cthulhudreams) Special Agent Vincent Byrne: former FBI HRT/Special Agent/Expert on the underworld (Mr. Juan) Chief Warrant Officer Nick Rohzenko: Pilot/Rigger/EW Specialist (Doc Funk) Sgt. First Class Ashley Fairchild: Scout/Sniper and Weapons specialist (Fortune) Chief Petty Officer Ivan Beckett: Former SEAL, Team Mage (Galedeep) Also, ZenZen has put his name in the hat to play the SpecOps Medic character. I don't have a character sheet or background yet, and if he doesn't get those to me by Monday, I'll be running "Coach" as the NPC medic. |

Working hard on it (always hard to let go of good ideas because don't have enough BPs to realize them...and 600 BP with half skill cost sounded like plenty at first *curse you, awakened BP-sinks*). So let's all pray to your respective deities that I manage the deadline because my char has the superior abilities when it comes to patching the bullet-ridden bodies of your char's back together (you gotta wipe the pool of blood away yourself, though). Hope to meet you in-game soon. |

Okay, Clear text character sheet AS DEMANDED
Totally background free, I want to rework it a bit around the edges, but the Boss has a good as gold version. Just not quite gold ;) Calling em a HUMIT specialist is probably being a bit generous. Mr Mosby has two tricks up his sleeves: A) He can do everything pretty well, except cast spells - shooting, hacking, talking, walking, healing, flipping out and killing people, it's all good. B) Is completely indistinguishable form a civilian without invasive medical testing, including while carting around a monowhip and a commlink, which is all he needs to break out badassery or otherwise do what needs doing. The only downer is that under house rules I cannot actually take a gun through a sec screen, but otherwise sitting pretty. [ Spoiler ] Edit: I just noticed the skills are from an old draft. I'll try and find where I have misplaced the new draft. Edit2: Fixed. |

He emailed me to do it in plain text because I did it as an excel spreadsheet, so he could post it later. As I don't care if you read it (infact I welcome comment) I figured I'd cut to the chase :) |

Nope, you didn't miss anything directly. For those who have submitted your characters to me in spreadsheet format, I'd like for you to convert that data to text and post it either here or via PM to me. I want the characters in that format so that when I start the OOC thread, I can list all the characters and their respective stats/backgrounds in the first post. Fortune, you and a couple of others have already done that via PM, which is cool. I do want everyone to be able to read everyone else's stats/background before the mission starts. Remember, you've all been a team for a couple of years now, so you know each other, and know what each of you is capable of. In short, yes, the Charsheet and background will be public once the game starts. If you want to go ahead and post your approved sheet in this thread as well, please be my guest. 8-) |

Ah, ok. That's cool.
I think I'll wait till the OOC for two reasons ... #1. It's neater and easier to find later (and I'm somewhat anal, if you haven't figured that out yet ;)) and more importantly ... #2. I just might want to tweak that tiny bit more, and wouldn't want to post an incorrect sheet. :D |

Here's the magician type, though he's still being ironed out. On the whole, though, he's the guy you'll be dealing with, give or take a few skill points or a spell or two that may be revised.
