I try to keep things as detailed as possible. I think it adds to the fun and helps suspension of disbelief.

As to the traffic quantity being the main reason to avoid spirit movement...actually, I think the main reason to avoid using it in this case is it would be a waste of services.

As it stands now you guys will be getting to Baton Rouge several hours before the meet. I think I estimated around 1300 hours. That 5 hours before the meet (yes, my previous estimation of 3 hours before the meet was incorrect). Is there really a need to get there 9 hours before the meet? I would suggest holding off on using the spirit services unless something happens along the way that would REALLY slow you down. In fact, it wouldn't hurt to take your time getting there.

I would like once more to go over the plan, so I make sure I handle things correctly in my coming IC posts.

Ivan and Ashley will be arriving at the parking lot X hours/minutes before the meet to recon it. Then Mosby and the rest of the crew show up at the designated time, right?

Let me give you guys a little info about the area. That particular stretch of Jefferson Hwy borders a B/C zone. To the south and west are lots of commercial and corporate buildings. To the north and east are more lower-class businesses and housing, with several state housing projects nearby. The particular parking lot houses several places of business...a lone super-stuffer shack sits near Jefferson, the group of buildings on the north-east side hosts a local cuisine restaurant (Cafe Acadiana), a pawn shop, and some "for lease" space, and the southern cluster of buildings hosts a small supermarket, a discount clothing store, and a Cyber Shack (Radio Shack + conventional cyberware).

A surveillance drone launched from nearby will arrive 20 minutes early and do a brief sweep of the area, with Nick using that drone as a relay to do an electronic sweep.

Ashley and Ivan will arrive 15 minutes early and do a physical and astral sweep of the area, then select an area they feel won't have third party observers and wait there.

At that point the rest of the team (Nick/Byrne/Mosby/Sam) will arrive a couple of minutes early, having left the vehicles with trailers in the nearest secure parking area.

i was thinking two to each of the vehicles without trailers.

i'm going to use the 2 hours of 'free' time to try and find an apartment, as well as all the drive.

Like I said, why not just get a garage-sized storage unit or two? They ask few questions, and you can actually stay for a few days yourself in a lot of them.

Haha, excuse the stupidity on my part, I thougt you meant as a long term goal.

As a short term goal *falmpalms* yeah thats a really good idea. We should clearly rent a few.

Do you guys want to role-play out the apartment hunting and storage space stuff, or just handle it OOC and get on to the Recon+Meet?

So, I guess we should probably take one 10'x30' for the week, stash the 2 trailers in there, and get the vehicles in a secure parking space, also for the week.

Thats 560+ three time 60 , making it 740 for the week... which seems fair enough.

edit: which is something close to 124 :nuyen:

CAS Notes ($6 = 1 nuyen): 50,000 nuyen [$300,000 CAS Notes]

I was just reviewing this, and noticed a discrepancy. Shouldn't the total Certified Credstick amount actually be 20,000 nuyen?

You could potentially get another one to function as a doss while we house hunt in line with fortunes suggestion as it is pretty cheap.

Well, since we don't have any idea how long we'll be in the Baton Rouge area, I think we should hold off on actually renting living space. For now, I'm pretty sure that a few motel rooms in a seedy part of town will do, since (as I understood) our first "run" should take place in less than 48 hours.

Hey guys. You have my sincerest apologies for my absenteeism. I could give the excuse that my brother died or my wife has cancer, but (thank goodness) that's not the case. My only excuse is a severe case of OSTDMITS (other shit to do more important than shadowrun). I haven't abandoned this game, but I'm going to need to reduce my (and your) commitments a little. I figure if this game takes less of my time, I will be less likely to leave it off of my "to do" list altogether.

That having been said, I'm going to make the commitment of 1-2 posts per week minimum on my part, with at least one post per week from you guys, either OOC or IC (or both if you are feeling frisky).

I'm going to put a blank post on IC to bump it up to the top of the list so I can make sure it doesn't disappear.

I hope the rest of you are still interested, because I would like to continue this game.

I think Doc Funk has taken a sabbatical, without him you may also not have fortune.

This could potentially be an issue.

I am still keen.

It's cool. I admit that I would much rather have the Doc included, but if that doesn't happen, there's nothing much I can do about it. :)

I have always been blessed with luck when it comes to online games ... it's just that most of it is of the bad variety.

No prob. Glad to have you back.

Works for me. (Would've been the first PbP game I've seen that manages to keep up a 'posting at least once a day' schedule after the initial rush anyway - especially with so many players.)

If with 'disappear' you mean 'not visible on the 2 pages of "Welcome to the Shadows"' then that's certainly a viable option. Otherwise the 'search' function conveniently unearthes even threads that have been neglected for years.

Sure. :) Let's get this convoy rolling again.

Regarding DocFunk: Is my assumption correct that he's AWOL or does anyone have details?
Everyone else is still around, right?

Doc is having some serious problems of a personal nature (not my place to say more), and as such, his Dumpshock participation has been curtailed for the time being. I have no information as to when this will change, if ever, but I certainly hope things get better for him soon.

Typo on my part. It should be x2 2500 nuyen sticks

That way, you have an even $50,000 in nuyen.

I'll edit the post to fix the typo.

That's probably right on target.

I'll try to keep a running tab of expenditures, and basically hand you guys a bill every week of game time. You can figure out how you split the costs from there.
