Jason Runningdeer has two battletac recievers linked to rating 4 personal comm units. One's built into his helmet, though the other could be loaned out in a pinch.
Being the 1,000,000 :nuyen: medico-sorcerer has its perks ;) |

Why only rating 4? I went with 8 with rating 6 encryption.

Weight, originally. I'll up it, actually. There's some wiggle room if I downgrade/remove the chemsniffer I threw in there (not sure why, really).
[edit] If other people are limiting us to rating 4 encryption, there's no point in upping mine so I'll leave it as-is.[/edit] |

I only got a Rating 4 one, too. I tried to ask everyone what we wanted to get while we were all still working on our characters, but no one really responded to it (beyond a few "why even bother" type posts).
Like I originally suggested, 4 is good enough for the majority of us right now. You're the only one who needs the extra Flux/Range that the rating 8 gives. You'll just have encryption/ECCM and all that at the lowest rating in the network. If we ever need more secure ones, we can get the quartermaster to issue it to us. Since I'm a scout, I did get a massive Signal Amplifier 10 for mine, however. So it's effectively a Flux 14 for purposes of range. You might want to consider doing that, too. And if you have a vehicle, getting a Power Amplifier 10 would be a good idea; they're compatible. And why did you get encryption on it? Personal/Master Comm Units come with encryption equal to their rating -- it's one of the reasons they're such a steal. |

Hey, I was wondering something.
I was checking out the stats for form-fitting body armor, and it said that it doesn't count towards reducing your combat pool. Should it count towards reducing your quickness then (as large amount of armor also do)? For example, if I'm wearing an Armor Jacket over the form-fitting armor suit, should my quickness be reduced? I'd like to hear from the GM on this. |

I noticed that the other day. I have to say in my games, it'll apply to quickness penalties when layered, but that's my games.

The errata for the Cannon Companion clarifies it. It doesn't count for purposes of Quickness or Combat Pool.

Grey: I didn't manage to get the BattleTac. No moneys left after all I spent on being the weapons expert.

1. I didn't know comm units came with encryption, I'll change that and get the signal booster like suggested (I don't know a whole lot about electronics in SR, so thanks for the advice).
2. I'll get one for you tanka 3. Yes, Form Fitting can be stacked with any armor, thats why I love it so much. :) |

Yay! That means I really will be able to shoot the feathers off an eagle at four hundred yards!
As long as Grey is tracking it, that is. Or if there's any eagle left after the first shot... |

FYI - my character has two weapons that he uses. Weapon of choise is his Ranger X bow with Dikoted arrows. Second weapon is a Walther MA-2100 sniper rifle.

I have too many to list a favorite. Although I have a feeling the MAW will be entertaining. :rotfl:
Oh, moose, after I refinalized the last time, it took out my editings of what all my kits are. I have a whole bunch of blanks, and they all correspond with the weapon types that don't have a listed kit. Just thought I'd let you know. |

Laughing-Snow carries an Ares Alpha on most missions that allow it, and it's the only firearm he truly excels at. He does carry an Ares Supersquirt II as his sidearm, however, and he's pretty good with the various splash grenades and dikoted tomahawk he carries.
The only time he really opens fire is when the rest of the group is on an assault mission, though, hence the Alpha. He's more about moving silently, getting into position, and strategically planting bombs beforehand. Beyond that, gathering reconnaissance and quietly taking out sentries and enemy scouts is his "thing." |

Why should we be shocked by that? You're the Heavy Weapon Specialist, aren't you?
And you did get some Great Dragon ATGMs right? 20D anti-vehicular beats the snot out of a wussy MAW's 15D high explosive. :D |

No. I ran out of money. :(
Unless the ATGM is less than the MAW... Checking! Weapons... Same. Ammo... ATGM is 100 more. So I drop a few rounds of something. ATGM it is. |

*collar tug* Uh... does forgetting to buy comm equipment for a Communications Sepecialist count as stupid, or forgetful?
Oh, Jonas Red Eagle uses an Ares Alpha or Cavalier Deputy. He prefers a good old fashion Tomahawk though. Nothing like the personal touch. Will revise sheet, spend surplus cash to get some comm gear... |

Pretty sure that's stupid. :)
You should probably reword that, Moose. According to that line, we're actually making 135,000 nuyen per year, as Day Job gives 5,000/month. :) |

The backpack master comm unit would be a good pick, DH ;)
Of course, you probably don't have the strength to lug an extra 20-25 kilos, so maybe not ;) |

Cub, my shaman from western Montana (Lakota country) doesn't use to many weapons.
He carries a Colt Manhunter, tricked out so theres no recoil. And he uses a lot of magic. These are his spells: Firebal Treat Levitate Shape Earth Armor Physical Barrier Control Pack Compel Truth Incr. Reflexes +2INI DIE Any suggestions to change them would be welcome. I tried to take a good array of defensive spells, and spells appropriate to the character. He also wasn't able to afford any comm eq. So he will have to get issue. |

I think your best bet would be to work with HMHVV and each choose a specialization to focus your magic on. What's your totem?
