Hey folks,

As we're getting into the final bit of the Denver story arc, and preparing for the next arc, the writing team came to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to collect some feedback from our players and GMs.

So, with that in mind, a short survey has been posted to the Shadowrun web site. In hopes of persuading folks to complete the survey, CGL has been kind enough to offer a $25 gift certificate to a randomly selected person who completes the survey.

If you've played, GM'd, or even read any of the SRM Denver scenarios, we'd really appreciate it if you'd take a few moments to complete it.

Thanks for your time!

I can tell from the questions some of the possibilities being considered. :)

For a while now, I've felt that they should combine the missions into a single book in the style of the Adventure Path series from Dungeon. They would need to re-do the maps at the very least (upgrading them and using a consistent art style and scale), provide a little more background on the NPCs and their motivations, provide a little more background on the overall plot and events that are happening in the city, and tie the missions together a little more strongly. Sure, not much at all. Done that way, it would be worth a 30 or 40 purchase to me.

Unfortunately with the number of people involved in Missions there are complications with the big collection. I wish it would happen though, cause I'm more than willing to update my maps (in fact I've considered redoing a few and hosting them on my own). a Big Book of Missions would rock though.

SR4 Denver Boxed set.

If it can't be done for the Denver arc, might plan ahead for the next set of Missions to have this as the end result.

That's something that I was initially very interested in doing. However, there are a few other challenges that we'd need to overcome. The least of which is just the cost.

Even dropping the boiler plate text, cover sheets, and ToC from each adventure, we're averaging over 20 pages per adventure (including maps et al) . 20 pages * 25 adventures works out to 500 pages. There's just no way to do a small press run of a 500 page book and have it come out in the 30-40 price point.

You could go with the best of the best, cut it down to what makes a publishable book, looks like you just need half the missions to make a 250 pager.

Plus you save space on re used NPCs and contacts. :)

Yeah it could be released with a CD that has the PDFs of the adventures not published in text... That way the all show up, even if not tangibly. You can have all of the plot device missions be in print with supporting, optional-ish adventures in pdf on CD or via download.

Coolness.

I don't know how far along decisions for the next arc(s) have gone, but I would like to put in two-cents-worth for a set of missions that take place outside the urban environment. I believe there is a lot of fun and profit out there in the wilds, and it would give a chance for a different kind of PC to shine.

I know one of the missions I ran was an out of town job involving a road trip, freezing weather, and snow blocked roads. So there is at least one mission set outside the urban environment.

There's "A Very Bad Day" set in an astral dimension featuring a wilderness and lots of rock climbing.

SRM02-09 Tunnel Vision, SRM02-12 Winter Wonderland, SRM02-14 Wetwork, Pure and Simple, and SRM02-18 A Very Bad Day all have significant portions of the adventures in non-Urban environments. While the setting for the next story arc will be primarily urban, it's safe to say that we will also have scenarios that require the PCs to leave the "comfort" of those environments.

C'mon, no teasing. Remember, Everyone's your friend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cyber.gif)

Oh, and, incidentally, the Shadowrun event schedule for Origins has already been submitted. GenCon should go in within the next week. It might just be possible that there could be some references to the new Missions campaign in their events lists.

I'm not really teasing so much as exploiting. But point taken. On second thought, I'll do the right thing.

Is it too late to have the next arc placed on Z/O? That'd be fun, extermely difficult to organize a sustained campaign, but fun...

that reminds me of this idea I've had forever for a SR game possibly since I started playing back in the SR1 days. Have it set in the standard sprawl and have the team for some reason go as far as they could on the borders. Have them find out that their entire lives have been spent on a contained colony on the moon. No one they can find is aware of it. Have hints dropped all along so that when they look in hindsight it's obvious. Then it could go diferent places, maybe they accept it, maybe they try to take over, or panic everyone. maybe they try to leave. Then it comes down to, are they still in contact with earth? Were they all abandoned? There are a lot of possibilities.

Well, since we've been high in the Rockies under the evergreens, I think it's safe to say that it'll be a substantial change of venue.
