Okay So I saw a copy of the newest printing and Im a lil Jealous. I have the 3rd printing and It's fine (though I have already worn it down quite a bit.) I'm guessing I may have to get a new copy in a few months... It's important to have more than one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

anywho though, It was nice seeing the Catalyst logo on there and it just has a slicker look about it. I approve. I only looked at it quickly, didn't have too much time. My new copy will have to wait since I have to get Arsenal tuesday and I finally got to pick up runner havens today. I am still missing Emergence, as my final SR$ book but I will probably get it sometime soon. My birthday is coming up so... heh we'll see.

I saw it at Boarders when I picked up my older Fanpro copy. I noticed the new one was $5 more expensive, and they had an older Fanpro printing, so I grabbed the cheaper one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

It does look good, though. Its has darker, richer colors.

Let's hope so. Also, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before my Fanpro BBB falls completely apart (The binding is really not looking too hot). I'm glad to hear the CGL version is looking good. I really hope they have changed all the damage codes to what was errataed. It would be really nice if they added in the line about Threading -2DP not applying to pool for that CF being theaded. Actually, once you get started, there are a million things that need an extra sentence or two. *sigh*

What? The price on the back of our printing is $34.99, same as the FanPro printings.

The Catalyst book was $39.99 at my local Boarders, while the FanPro print was $34.99. I didn't pull the store labels up to see if they were charging the MSRP or not, I just went with the least expensive option.

Hmmm...I was always under the impression it was illegal to go over the MSRP. But of course, I know pricisely dick about it so I should shut the hell up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It's definitely not illegal, at least in the US. It's just, in most cases, a poor business decision. I could ramble on about this for a while, but it's pretty far off-topic for Dumpshock. Try visiting a bargain hunter board like fatwallet or slickdeals for more info, if you really want it.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

In short, Borders Sucks!!!! Visit your local (and most likely, Independent) Gaming/Hobby Store, they will appreciate your business and likely be very knowledgeable and friendly within the realm of gaming (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Take mine for instance, I mentioned to the owner the Catalyst Gaming Line and that night he placed an order for every book he could (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

There is a limited edition print run for SR4. I don't know if it was a con only purchase though.

One question. I was waiting on this release to see if it was corrected or addressed.

The Combat Mage example has a "Increase Initiative" spell in his list. As this came up in yesterday's game, I did a quick read of the spell and it says specifically it can't be used to increase Special attributes like Initiative. I checked it in the new book (the player had it and the FLGS we were in had a couple on the shelf) just to make sure it still said it. I had the player change it to "Increase Reaction" so that Initiative would increase but I thought I'd post a question to clarify it.

Another Quick problem.

Page 309, on the Equipment Tables:

The Statblocks for Sports Rifles has been mislabled Machine Pistols.

The Statblocks for Siniper Rifles has been mislabled Machine Pistols.

The Statblocks for Shotguns has been mislabled Submachine Guns.

Arsenal isn't even out in hardcopy just yet. So, someone's selling an advance copy and expecting to make a fortune off of it. Pity that most fans have pdfs, and the hard copy is coming out tomorrow, March 18.

EDIT: Looks like someone actually bought it!

Carl

There is an "Increase Initiative" spell which is a different spell from "Increase Attribute". It gives extra IPs even, at, I believe, higher drain.

Increase Reflexes.

It is right below Increase [x] spell.
