DP= Rating 3 Scanner Roll 1: [4 6 4] = 3 hits Result: ID busted Void makes a Fake SIN test: DP = Fake SIN R:3 Roll 1: [1, 3, 4] = 1 hit Additionally, I would like to make a Charisma+Etiquette roll to look like a perfectly innocent, innocuous, law-abiding European tourist. Are there any mods to the roll, GM? No mods, but wait to be confronted before making to the roll, otherwise, the air will think you're a very convincing innocuous tourist. DP= Rating 3 Scanner Roll 1: [5 5 5] = 3 hits Result: ID Busted Sorry, I have been at work all weekend. I take your 25 pages and raise it another 100 pages and someone else was supposed to have done it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) DP = Fake SIN R:4 Roll 1: [4, 6, 4, 6 ] = 4 hits Additionally as I'm a licensed mage, casing improved reflexes force 3 (reduced to 2 by the BGC) DP = Spellcasting 4 + Magic 5 (due to BCG) + 2 powerfocus = 11 Roll 11 = 5, 2, 1, 4, 2, 4, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3= 3 hits, capped to 2 by the BGC, giving me an extra IP Soaking Drain: Initution 5 + Willpower 5 = 10 Roll 10 = 5, 2, 1, 6, 2, 6, 6, 2, 3, 1 = 4 hits I'm not actually sure if that completely soaks the drain, but it probably leaves it at stun 1 or 2 if it doesn't (I have a fetish) License check for my magick license if anyone checks. DP = License:R4 Roll 4 = 2, 6, 2, 4 = 2 hits Your drain is soaked. Holda spends an Edge to reroll failed dice on Fake SIN Test:
DP = Fake SIN Reroll 1 Roll 1: [5] = 1 hits I'm having a hard time remembering, I'm sure you just reroll the dice that failed. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

I'm having a hard time remembering, I'm sure you just reroll the dice that failed. Correct me if I'm wrong. You can use Edge to reroll any dice that did not get hits; or you can roll your Edge attribute in dice after a test to get more hits, and 6's are rerolled for chances at more hits. You could also roll your Edge added to the test's dice pool from the get go, and all of those 6's are rerolled... but as we've all already rolled on the test, we don't have this option. If you have a higher Edge pool than you do the rating of your SIN (or rather, the number of dice that didn't score hits), it'd be wiser to roll your Edge instead. That's what I'm going to do right now: Void rolls Edge after her SIN check for extra hits: DP = Edge 5 [2, 4, 4, 5, 3] = 3 hits 3 hits + 1 prior hit = 4 hits total |

I'll stick with "Verification" and see what happens. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
I mentioned that I'll be moving in the recruitment thread, but now I have more precise dates. I'm going to be leaving the morning of the 17th and I should be done by the 20th. Best case scenario I find hotels along the way with internet access, worst case I disappear for four days. |

I'll stick with verification, but as they obviously have a mage in the area, can I see who it is/where they are while astrally perceiving?

Your SIN shows that you have a license attached to it, so it got scanned. Do you wanna switch to astral perception? Resterend takes an Observe in Detail action. What's going on? [ Spoiler ]

I have seriously 5 licenses ;P Do I need to roll of all of them? I probably would have got less if I knew that they'd check them all each time, law of probability says I will fail. I'm just mentally used to my game where licenses only get checked if you show any evidence of actually having the <restricted item/capability> in question
Can I cast a spell before they round the corner enter the alley way? My plan is to throw up a multisensory trid phatasm of their being a dumpster, standing inside of the illusion and switch off my comm.' Or just a alley full of trash and blocked with dumpsters, then switch my SIN and walk out the other side Do I know what they might do if I disappear with an 'validate SIN' request up without actually appearing to evade police. |

Void makes an Observe in Detail test:
DP = Intuition (4) + Perception (2) + Visual spec. (2) + Vision Enhancement (3) + Actively Searching (3) = 14 [1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6] = 8 hits She's looking around in the alley right after she enters it behind Petra, looking for escape routes, places to hide, or ideas in general about her situation. I'm also wanting a general description of the alley and the area she's in. |

You have a good point, actually. What's the license in question for? If its a 'I'm a mage' license, then I think whether you can magically tacnuke things will be marked on your SIN. For firearm/foci/etc licenses, they won't get checked unless it is visible. As for casting the spell, you can go ahead, but I'll post a description of the alleyway in a moment. If you switch your SIN, the SIN will disappear, and its a locked area, so...They'll get suspicious if a new SIN pops up or the old one simply disappear. As for what they'll do, it all depends. More likely than not, they'll assume that you're somehow evading police. Void makes an Observe in Detail test: DP = Intuition (4) + Perception (2) + Visual spec. Sprite hacking into the SIN verifier:
DP: Hacking 6 + Exploit 6 Rolls: [1,2,2,5,1,3,6,1,3,2,3,4] = (3) [5,4,1,3,5,3,1,5,3,6,4,1] = (6) Done in two IPs. The Sprite's Stealth is 6. Incidentally, who gets to decide when spirits and sprites use Edge? |

More likely than not, they'll assume that you're somehow evading police. I'm afraid you'll have to answer that. It depends whatever euroports mage regulation regime is, and I have no idea. In the UK I'd need a license to actually be a mage, but thats not a requirement in UCAS or CAS, california, australia, south africa any of the elf states, so I'd have a license to use magic in some restricted way. So if you think that europort has the fascist regime version of mage regulation, then it's a 'permit to exist' mage license and I'd need to roll, if you think they run with the more libertarian view, it's a 'permit to do some particular action' and I wouldn't. If you ask me, I'd say on the balance of probability I wouldn;t have to roll unless I did something obviously magically and potentially illegal because most states only regulate the use of magic (except the UK), but I purposely leave it vague so the GM can take it whichever way he likes ;P |

Honestly, since its Europe, and they do have much more restricting laws than the UCAS does in general, I'd rule that you need to have a 'permit to exist'.

That ignores the social equality agenda, but okay (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Now whats the process for a sin scanner matching hits against you? |

There's social equality in Shadowrun? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/question.gif)
The process is simple. If it matches hits, they ask you questions about your SIN, licensing details, etc, and check it against their DB. |

There's social equality in Shadowrun? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/question.gif) Sorry, that was a poorly prased joke about the european approach to what they restrict and don;t restrict vis a vis america. Onto the topic QUOTE The process is simple. If it matches hits, they ask you questions about your SIN, licensing details, etc, and check it against their DB. I meant game mechanically, but thats cool/relevatively non eventful I guess. |
