Mechanically, its an opposed con/sense motive check, i think. If something else sounds more logical, go ahead and suggest it.

In your world do the grunts know I've used jedi mind trick/control thoughts on them to make them believe them I'm actually an upright citizen? I cannot actually remember what the offical call is on that one.

No. How can they tell? They're being mind controlled.

It has a duration, and at some point ends after that, so I figured I'd ask.
Right, so the plan is going to be going to be control thoughts/jedi mind trick + "These SN scans really do check out" on them. I'll probably have to mind control all three cops, but I cannot remember if I just have to mind control once give them the orders and drop the spells, or sustain the spell for the duration. |

Resterend compiles a Force 6 data sprite.
DP: Compiling 5 + Resonance 6 + Hot-Sim 2 + Code Slinger 2 = 15 Roll: [3,3,4,3,3,5,2,1,1,4,3,5,5,2,1] = 5 hits |

If you're going to try Jedi mind tricks with the cops, I wouldn't use anything like Control Thoughts or Control Actions. They actively fight that spell the entire time, and once it's worn off, they are aware of having been hijacked (they actually realize this DURING the spell with Control Actions). A less direct but more subtle approach is Influence. I love this spell, because it's a powerful subconscious suggestion that they follow. They get a chance to resist it if they realize deep down how "wrong" it is, but if they fail that test then they go through with the action. You don't get to actively puppet them, but then that's the price you pay.
When I make magicians with those types of spells in their grimoire, I always take both Influence AND Control Thoughts. Sometimes you need to be subtle, and sometimes you just can't afford to fuck around. |

Yeah, I'm away from my books (doing some long hours atm)- thats why I asked before if people could remember control thoughts.
Thanks for the heads up, new plan time. |
