Right! I'm off to get some sleep. Good first fight Hex! Well done!

As for me. I pretty much flopped out, but I didn't get killed in the first battle! Woot!

Anyhow, you guys may be interested to see something I'm working on. I'm an artist as a hobby, and I thought I show you all what Sweeps looks like.

Bear in mind this is a work in progress:

I'm probably thinking super far down the line here, but how do you handle initiation? I mean, do you run a side quest? Also, do you allow for the karma cost reductions from group initiation and ordeals? final question: How often will you be tossing karma our way?

That knife won't stop the bike. But it might force a crash test.
And it ought to freak the driver out a bit.

Hey all, sorry for the lack of posting. Had my TT game earlier today and the came home and watched the Mars Phoenix mission land. I'm something of an armchair space exploration geek so stuff like that fascinates me. I'm heading to bed now though, I'll get the chase started tomorrow when I get up.

No problem. GM's are entitled to lives too.
That successful Mars landing is quite nice. (The fact that Spirit and Opportunity are still trundling around is just plain amazing.)

(TT? I doubt it is Tunnels and Trolls?)

He he! TT = Table Top. Meaning real people, not just text over web, or voices in your head. LOL

Yeah! that mars landing is a real landmark. It's just such a shame the world economy is so rocky these days. Space exploration is so expensive using todays tech.

Still the X-prize winners may speed things up a bit now. That for me was one of the most exciting things to witness to date, as it's one step closer to Mr average going into space.

Anyhow! Moving on. Who's IP is it?

EDIT:

Oh yeah, and no one likes my Sweeps 3D model? It aint finished, but feel free to comment on it.

I should have thought of that meaning. I've heard face-to-face games called tabletop. (Although some folks use that for everything including board games and card games.)

IP fell apart when the gangers broke and ran. I'm sure it'll come back when we're trying for the trolls.

On a separate note, this time it's for real. I leave tomorrow before sunrise for my trip, so today will be packing and cleaning. I'll probably look at the board once or twice more today, but I probably won't post unless absolutely necessary.

Therefore, have fun smashing some trolls, and try not to get padre killed, mmk? However, should the disappointing happen, I've got a gun bunny adept that I want to test at some point... also an orc tracker and a pornomancer... *shrugs* actually, I have about a dozen character builds already statted out that I want to try at some point. Ergo, should padre bite the big one, plant your idea for the next character to show up, and I probably have a character to match. Most votes wins an appearance in "Greenhorns in Seattle!" ^_^

well I let Mack get that throw in, mainly because it seemed interesting.

I just rolled for Hack and I'm gonna roll initiative again for the chase combat.

Interesting. I obviously was unclear, so I get what I deserve. I had intended to aim for the bike.
(Although with rolls that good, I don't know that I would have hurt the bike either. 11 hits on 21 dice! Thats better than 2 standard deviations out. Oh well, it happens. First Mack misses, a 1/200 shot, and then this. Uneven luck.)

I do have to get Mack a fast-draw arm rig for the throwing knives.

Yours,
Joel

Ok a quick note on how I'm gonna run the chase combat.

Hex. The AK has a Gas Vent III, shoulder stock, and weighted barrel giving it 5 points of recoil comp. It also has a smartlink and a chopped barrel. It's loaded with regular ammo.

Mack. It will take a full combat turn for you to get your LMG out of the suitcase, loaded and ready to fire.

1 you are firing from a moving vehicle, this means you suffer a -3 to your dice pool.

2 You can choose to target either the troll or the bike unless you are firing a full auto (wide) burst or a grenade (If you happen to have one) in which case you hit both.

3 The combat is beginning at Long vehicle range. This means that the AK and the LMG are both at long range everything else you have is out of range.

4 Once the range closes to medium people with pistols can shoot at long range and the AK and LMG are at medium.

5 Short range is medium range for pistols short for the AK and LMG.

6 The Bulldog has an armour rating of 8. This gets added to your armour when resisting damage.

7 The Bulldog also has two sliding doors, one on either side. Since you're going to be firing forward you can open the door and lean out (gun fu style) and shoot. You suffer an additional -3 to your dice pool on account of the fact that you are leaning out of a moving vehicle firing a weapon one handed (don't glitch). Only one person can shoot out of each door. Unfortunatly the firing ports are useless unless the bikes are right alongside you or behind you.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) The chopped barrel on the AK means it is compact enough that it can be fired by leaning out the passenger side window without the additional penalty.

I think... that is everything. Hope I didn't leave anything out. Initiative will go up in a moment.

9) At the beginning of each combat turn Sybercat and both trolls are going to need to make control tests right off the bat. This sucks up a complex action each turn but it's handled as an interrupt action.

I take it my character is going to sit tight on this one. I only have hand pistols. and the guys with the better guns should take the firing holes.

Ok, IC post is up.

Hex with the AK is the only one who's going to be able to do much this combat turn. They're out of range of the pistols and knives and Mack needs to get the LMG ready.

Remember though Hex, you are sitting at a -10 dice pool to hit the trolls. -3 for the moving vehicle, -3 for range, -2 for the cover their bikes provide and -2 for Sybercats failed vehicle roll. You're at -8 if you want to specifically target the bike.

Dusty's right. It's Table Top. We're actually playing Burning Wheel. Not my favorite game in the world but there is one guy in the group who wants to have Luke Crane's babies so we're humoring him till 4th edition D&D comes out.

Oh, and anyone who isn't shooting can try and patch Loki up with a complex action. It takes a number of combat turns equal to the damage you are trying to fix, so 2 combat turns to completely put him back together. The Savior Medkit gives 6 dice.

If you have the first aid skill (or biotech group) you can add your skill and Logic to the roll, otherwise it's just pressing the on button and following the onscreen instructions.

The base threshold is 2, any hits over that reduce Loki's condition monitor by one box each.

I guess I'll just go ahead and post up Hex's action. -8 is pretty hefty, but the recoil compensation means I can at least shoot a decent burst without too much of an issue. Oooh, I can always aim though, that should help some. I think I'll try and shoot the bike out, since we only need one of them, really.

Well, might have actually managed to hit one. Not a terrible roll, but the penalties are rough. Plus Hex isn't nearly as good with rifles and so forth, heh.

It's all good. You're doing two completely separate things so initiative order doesn't matter quite so much.

Oh, and Seraph. Remember the AK can be fired out of the front passenger seat window *see post above*. If you want to try and shoot it out of the door you take an additional -3 on account of the fact that you can't brace yourself as well and you'd be stuck using one hand to hang on to the van.
