Yeah, I figured since Mack doesn't have any cyberware I need to give him something to save his hard earned (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) for.

I was thinking about it, particularly for Padre since he has a ready made hook/money pit he can throw his extra nuyen into. I just need to think of something extra I can do for Nigel too.

Let me start by saying the knife is VERY neat, and I really appreicate your putting it .
And I will have to adjust priorities to be able to afford it sooner, rather than later.

But at least for quite a while, I have plenty of ways planned to spend money and karma. Character development in both of those dimensions for Mack is NOT a problem. (Character development as a character, now that is harder. But I am trying.)

Yours,
Joel

PS: The folks who seem, by the book, to have the most problems with using money are mages and technomancers. And we don't have either of those in the group.

Mages and TM's are the biggest karma hogs. Adepts can come close though depending on the build and what your intentions are.

Actually this gives me an oppertunity to ask.

If you guys want to compile a wishlist for me it'd be handy. If there is a particular piece of ware you want or if you want to get ready for initiation or anything like that, let me know. Shoot for the moon, it is after all a wishlist. I try and find opportunities to reward players with stuff other than cash or karma.

Oh, and next IC is up. I've fast forwarded to Xanadu.

Padre has lots of ways to spend both, too, and, if the game goes long enough, I've got plans that will take large amounts of money and will generate even larger ones... and will probably get Padre claimed by the GM as an NPC... that seems to be my goal for alot of my characters... *grins*

But as to the PS, I add adepts to that as well... when I build a magic character, I like to get the most of the magic part by not picking up much cyberware (if any) at all. Therefore, my magic characters need lots of karma and not so much money... *shrugs*

speaking of karma... ^_^

well, initiation's on my to do list...
related to initiation is finding out if the Catholics have a magic group for Padre to join (group initiation benefits) and figuring out what kind of ordeal to take on to reduce initiation costs (was thinking a talisman geasa)

also, any downtime you see coming up will be spent seeking out the shadier members of my church (contacts) and attempting to learn about ways to update the security on the church. And I mean serious security updates... I want that church's security to rival a megacorp's at some point... ^_~

A catholic initiation group you say... That gives me an idea I think you might like. Time to dig up some old sourcebooks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/vegm.gif)

Ok, I'm going to do my best with this one.

I have all the stealth B&E equipment with me on a belt:

auto picker, gecko gloves (in my pocket), stun baton, maglock passkey, electronics toolkit.

I don't know if it's permitted with my chameleon suit, but I have my armoured jacked on under the Chameleon suit. (if it's not permitted then let me know), If I have to use the shock frills, I understand they will damage the Chameleon suit.

I also have my shock glove on. and as usual I have my ceramic knife in my boot.

My Hammerli 620S is in it's concealable holster with laser sight and silencer fitted, I also have 2 spare clips in my pocket.

EDIT:

I'm running a bit blind here, can you offer a map for me? I need to know the layout and what locks and cameras are where.
I presume Sweeps would take note of such things when he went in before.

EDIT EDIT:

Oh! And I took another shot of Jazz on the way here.

Roll for Jazz hit (10d6=33)
So thats 33 * 10 for 330 mins = 5 and half hours

When I get home (forgot my rule book) and imperialus has posted the map I'll get my IC up.

I unfortunately have no real wishes...nothing I can think of will increase my shooting abilities without reducing my magic, which would be a minus. I do need to be able to shoot and fight better, though. Maybe you can think of something, or someone else can - I don't know the system that well, after all. I'm learning, though, and I've been reading through the PDFs in my spare time.

Wish list eh? I'll post up when I get back to the BBB tonight.

Can we pick from other source books too, like Arsenal?

I'm hoping to get a good look at Augmentation and Arsenal soon, so I thought I would wait to put together a wish list until then.

Mostly, my current assumption is about 4 Essence of Bioware (with a little cyberware), matched by enough levels of Initiation and Magic increase to get my Magic to 5.

I had considered a Weapon Focus, but the Experimental Combat Knife is much nicer.

So I'll post a better wish list some time next week probably.

I'm planning on turning the church into something more than just a church. Do you want me to pay for it in some way, or just assume that the payments for the improvements and changes to the church are the cost?

::EDIT::
also, how often do you plan on tossing karma at us?

Actually I'll leave that up to you guys, would you like more Karma/nuyen? How quickly do you guys want to advance? According to the adventure as written (with nuyen deflation for 4th edition) you guys should be getting another 5 or 6 karma and the 10K payday. Right now Dark Angel is kinda scaled towards the low end of the Karma/Nuyen scale but I can bump it up (karma's easy and there are opportunities to add more cash).

I can double (at least) both easily though, might be a good idea given the slow nature of a PBP. Some of the cash rewards might require a bit of fencing is all.

If I double the Karma that'll open up possibilities for initiation if you so desire right at the end of the run, just to give a sense of scale.

This is one of my favorite things about Shadowrun. It's easy to scale the advancement one way or another without the system collapsing. The only tricky part is balancing Nuyen and Karma.

Oh, and here is a map of Xanadu for Sweeps

*edit*I've been thinking about how to deal with your church. I'll PM you with it when I have something more concrete thought out.

I can personally go either way. It's up to everyone, because I enjoy equally high-powered supercharacters and gritty, low-power campaigns. I'm fine no matter what.

I still reserve the right to bitch about the decision, though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

sorry guys, I'll have to post the IC tomorrow. My kid is sick with flu and has a habit of going into fits when she gets to hot so I need to keep an eye on her, and I don't want to rush the IC because of it.

Sorry guys.

Just agreeing with Imperialus. Sick kids clearly take priority. I hope it turns out to be nothing too serious.
(My son is now 14, and there are still times when his health has to take precedence.)
Thanks for letting us know what the issue was.

So I was looking through the old OOC posts, and I noticed the gm gift of pilot groundcraft 2. Do you still want everyone to take that, and what about those of us who already have a rank or two in pilot groundcraft? should we add the 2 ranks to what we had, or should we just take the higher of the two?

Hi guys,

Sorry about the delay. My little girl is starting to feel better, so I can chill out a bit on her. I'll post my IC after 9pm tonight GMT. Gotta catch up on work now.

Sorry again. It's bad timing as you're all waiting on Sweeps. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

Gah, sorry I've not been posting as much lately guys. Just started working a new job and going through the training has had me working a ton more than I will be normally, and now I've gotta get used to third shift. Which isn't actually too bad, so far. Plus a class (which is very cool, but the teacher likes making us write a lot). Would it be unreasonable for Hex to "take the night off" sort of. I feel like he should go off and catch up with all his crazy contacts and so on, which I could do in the main posting or through PM I suppose. I could have sworn I posted something about that before...but I don't see it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wobble.gif)
