Just musing to myself, but how did the moderator orange start?

Not sure. As a newer mod, I simply conformed to the established standard. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

On a tangential note, thank you for changing the canonical color for text messages from painful to readable brownish-red.

As a caviate and addendum: Each moderator has the flexibility to use the color of their choice. The unwritten standard is then to include it in your signature for clarification.

As to the posting legend: Yea. Black worked great on the old board but is way to dark on the new board.

I think I started it. I've seen it used on other boards, and it's a nice way to identify Moderator posts, and gives us, as mods, the ability to post as "us" and as a Mod. To a slight degree, anyways.

I originally posted Moderator posts in Red, as this is my color of choice. However, it contrasts poorly with Black, and was hard to read on the old boards. So I switched to a more Eye-strain friendly Orange color. Most of the other mods have followed suit, and most chose to use orange, though as Redjack points out, each mod is free to use whatever color he wants, so long as it's consistent.

Mainly it's a tool to make moderator posts stand out a bit more, so that if someone's just skimming a long thread, they're more likely to notice it. And hopefully they won't skip over it without reading, and then do something we just told everyone not to do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So what would happen if someone started using it all the time in their posts... as long as they aren't a mod, and don't state anything in their sig, its all good? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

As a last resort for people who simply want to incite problems we have both the "suspension" functions & the "ban-stick".

*Psh* Whatever. Orange is so passe'. Gold is the new orange. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

There's no rule against it, it just tends to annoy people. *shrug*

Thanks Tarantula for asking the question I was thinking, but didn't want to be slapped around for. Too many of the admins know what I look like...

Tiger--You are Here. Nice use of the product to hide the belly button piercing.

Personally I was surprised by the ring, most women who have had children give up navel jewelry. (Inferred from discussions and posts. Visually, you can't tell that she has kids.)

That said, Tiger will give Adam a run for his money as one of the Catalyst booth babes.

Edit: Tiger--Should we stop teasing them now?

Adam, we could take a vote on who looked better in their skirts, you or me! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) (and then, of course, we'd have to ask if you went au-natural under yours... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) Or we could take a vote on who wore their Catalyst shirt better. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

But really, I'm quite content being a booth-babe-in-training for the time being...
