OK and Welcome to the OOC Thread for 'Phoenix Rising'. This is the thread for rules questions, requests, master character sheets, and any other out of character discussions. I perfer to have dice rolls in the In Character (IC) thread just wrapped in *spoiler* tags. It keeps thing simpler. Any time you spend any karma, or add any new gear to your character please update your master sheet here. If something isn't listed on your sheet in this thread then you don't have it. Don't worry about tacking damage on it do that on the fly.
Welcome to the Shadows OOC thread for Greenhorns In Seattle. This is the thread for rules questions, requests, master character sheets, and any other out of character discussions. I prefer to have dice rolls in the In Character thread just wrapped in *spoiler* tags. It helps me keep track of which roll goes with which post. Any time you spend any Karma, or add any new gear to your character please update your master character sheet here. If something isn't listed on your character sheet in this thread then you don't officially have it. Don't worry about updating the sheet every time you take damage or anything like that though. Just keep track of that on a scratch pad or better yet a hardcopy of your character sheet that you keep printed out. I'll be doing the same just to make sure everyone says on the same page. As of right now players are: edited to current players Oenone - Etoile, female human Cybered Former Bodyguard/general social misfit Cizh - Gecko, male ork Water/Parkours Adept Deadman - Noowan, male elf Mystic Adept (Summoner) Little Johnson - Tom Green, male human Sniper Adept on hold due to computer issues DWC - Truth, male human Overwatch/Surveillance Drone Hacker NPC: "Riptide" Posting Rules Just like almost everyone else on the board I'm gonna be stealing Redjack's posting structure, so here you go. All your posts should begin with a time/date stamp in orange, detailing location, time, and date. - - "Speech color=cyan, optionally enclosed in quotes" - - <Coms (subvocal) color=violet> - - <Coms (Text) color=yellow> - - Thoughts color=darkkhaki and in italics - - Memories, flashbacks, dreams color=green and in italics Spoiler all private actions, but if its something really private, or you're setting up a backstab, PM me. If you have any questions about the use of BBcode please ask them here. For plot-important NPCs (Contacts, Prime Runners, and so on), don't assume their reactions or post them. Pretend they're PCs interaction-wise. I'd like to use http://invisiblecastle.com/ for all the dice rolling. Don't worry to much about modifiers to start with I'll handle then for you and as get into it you can start using the standard. The first run will be highlighting most areas so we all can get some air under our wings, both for you and me. Ok, lets have at it. Brent |

Edit number many - In which case I'll put it back.
If the MBW and Razors are counted as a suite would that then reduce the essence loss and price as per the section in Augmentation? If so I'll need to do a minor gear change to spend the extra cash.... Erm on a lifestyle I think. As I totally forgot one when working her out.... I've also done a minor skill swap as I forgot MBW gives a dodge bonus which I should really take advantage of given her poor body. Etoile - Cybered former bodyguard and general social misfit.. [ Spoiler ] This should now cover the right amount of Nuyen and is as far as I can tell my final draft. If I've missed anything let me know and I'll fix it asap! Fixed the lack of Locksmith, added the augmented values for her stats in brackets for easy reference and did a tiny contact adjustment to make her fixer better but the Snitch worse. Both of whom will get names and backgrounds in her background when I post it. |

OK, made some minor changes.
Took Savate instead of Boxing, fits better with the Parkour theme. Range for a Supersquirt is rubbish so I'm going with a modded Ingram SmartgunX which has much better ranges and is explicitly silent. I'm still working on Gear and Background stuff. Sorry, haven't done a PhysAd in years and obviously making up a character from scratch takes more time than just modding a pre-gen. |

Sorry, I failed to have listed that his custom commlink w/hot sim module was a cranial implant. I corrected that. He carries the throwaways jacked into his wrist, to broadcast whatever legal BS is needed in high security areas...his own high-powered internal machine is subscribed to the shitty one through DNI by default, so he can access all his good stuff, and when desparately needed, he'll bring the powerhouse implant onto Active or Passive to get some -real- work done. I should also mention that his contact who gave him access to his fine new headware is dead, so he's got no easy path to new upgrades and such. I'll be tightening up his numbers for easier reference today.

Shalimar: it's looking like your the only magic, I'm going to have to make real life contact with my friends they don't seem to be checking there email at all. So like I said eariler it's first come first served.
Coldhand Jake: thats what I thought, and I remember reading that your one contact was dead. Thanks, Brent |

If anyone else wants to do some magic I wouldn't think its a bad thing, Charlie is a little weak in combat, detection, well almost everything. Most of her spells are the type of thing a teen would find cool as opposed to being all that useful to a runner.

Okay, since I don't know your style, I'll make sure to go ahead and note these on my sheet, as carried. My throwaway comms are Meta Links running Vector Xim. CHEAP ASS. They run standard utilities, Browse, Edit, etc, and contain squat useful. My Agent, tends to run on my implant, and serves as constant overwatch for hacks. My cyberarm, eyes, and ears are DNI-only. All wireless functions are OFF, and service RFIDs disabled. My cranial comm is my internal PAN hub, and must be hacked before you can get at my chrome.
This is stuff I usually keep in a saddlebag of my Scorpion, so as not to have to deal with the techno-primitive. This was mostly because I got sick of working with people without the decency to get a datajack, or in the middle of the damn woods. When I learn how many people I'm working with, I usually stock up to that number in basics. * X sheets of electronic paper. * X cheapass image-link/sound-link glasses/earbuds combos. Simple cameras and mics too. * X pairs of AR gloves. * X applications of Trode Paste. * X extra throwaway comms with COLD sim modules for people who need them. I'm a well-established guy with two girlfriends, both Awakened, who love to look over my shoulder. I'm used to this kind of situation. And for me, in the bike: * Satellite Uplink * Holodisplay I have a tendency to spend alot on downloads. ARE, video games, books, Linguasofts, Datasofts, Mapsofts, Knowsofts. No skillwires, yet, but I love the easy-access of Matrix info, and abuse it. I load my shotgun with flechettes, it stays at home, or in the saddlebag when travelling. Same with the stun-baton. I carry the shock gloves and heavy revolver, it gets regular, legal ammo. |

Out of interest will the party have shared history?
Are we recently brought together for a job? If so should we have a shared contact who arranged it all? |

Jake and DD are turning out to be at least acquaintances...we're trying to figure out if there's more. There's always the way I brought my last team together...they all subscribe to the same online service...like Second Life, or, well, here. |

I actually see this being Charlie's first run. It would be very easy to hook her in with Jake though given his contacts and desire to get back into the shadows. Knowing his intention to get back into the business Mei or Calista let Jake know about a young mage that is looking to break into the shadows. They set up a meeting between the two through Charlie's contact Michael. Jake (and DD if you want to include her) met with Charlie and decided to take her into the crew jake was building up.
It would be easy to bring in the two adepts into the group through Mei and Calista's incredible connection ratings. That would put Jake, DD, Ralph, Charlie, and Gecko together. This would be the first team run, but it would start out with us being a crew with an idea of each other's abilities. |

Well, Jake's basically an L.A. fixer, so alot of Cali runners know him and the girls. He has a wide variety of minor extended contacts, and it wouldn't be surprising if all the characters were within only 2 or 3 degrees of contact from him.
Horizon execs, corporate special forces, gun distributors, Rat shamans, chaos mages, gangers, porn directors, gamers, bartenders, bouncers, performers of both stage and stripper pole, Vory gun runners, physad social circles, hackers, old school deckers, the L.A. nightlife, CAS transplants, VR addicts, cyber/bio furries, neopagans and urban primitives, pack-minds, ... that's just people he could call without asking for a LTG number. Of course, those are like Loyalty 0 acquaintances...but names move fast in the shadows. |
