I am working on a Fantasy setting using most of the rules of Shadowrun. I am stripping away all the cyberware and vehicle rules. Oh and technomancers go away too.

Visit My Website
is the link to the post.

This is the blog where the material is posted. I want comments and to grow the project. I also am wondering if this is something that fellow Runners are interested in.

Someone once told me that you couldn't use the shadowrun rules for a fantasy game since cyberware evens the field for all the non-mages. I was thinking upon this and if you wanted to you could develop the non-magical practice of warriors eating parts of their fallen enemies or the beast that they have hunter down to gain some you their power. Case in point: A warrior who wanted to move quicker would hunt down a cheetah, cut out its heart and eat it as part of a spiritual ceremony; thusly gaining that creatures speed. Just something to think about.

Good luck on the project.

Another idea is to simply replace cyberware with magical items, sure it would be easier to swap the various amulets, charms, ect arround and Essence becomes a far more fuild number than it is in Shadowrun. (Personally I would explain the 6.0 Essence limit and the hindering of a Mage's power by the various sources of acrane might interfering with each other.)

Of course, it might not be considered balance if a Mage can "de-augment" herself and regain her full Magic Stat by simply taking off her magical charms.

Yeah, but the point that shadowfire and I are trying to make is that by kicking out the rules behind cyberware you had better be prepared to have all of your players make Adepts and Mages, whereas you can just give "cyberware" a facelift and keep some sense of balance between Mundanes and the Awakened.
