Ok how about the cyberheart that was introduced (sorta) in the genesis console game. Or other cyber versions of the orgins needed to sustain life. We can rebuild him faster, stronger, better than before :D . How about a cyber brain or at the least a way to just download knowledge (I.E. Matrix Tank I need a ____ Program) and bam you got it and know it priod.

Another thing what about better cyberware Gamma Grade. :D Fully cybered (arms, legs, body, skull) in less than 2 essance.

Cyberwings.

Seriously, Leonardo da Vinci came up with an effective wing mechanism for human flight, only it requires muscles stronger than any human has. With cyber augmentation a set of deployable wings made of some lightweight alloy tubing plus ballistic cloth should be possible in the SR universe. They'd probably require a cybertorso for the huge torque needed to lift off, have a wingspan of perhaps 5-7 meters, and have a rating to determine how much weight, above the weight of the user, they could carry. Flight would be an active skill probably linked to body. I'd put the essence at similar to any other cyberlimb, perhaps a bit high, like 1.25 per wing. They'd always be obvious and socially disturbing, be incompatible with a balance tail (Because a stabilizer has to deploy there) and give the player a movement rate of x6 when flying.

Technically speaking... It should go Alpha, Beta, Gamma, then Delta. But nooo, FASA has to be goofy and do the Greek alphabet wrong.

Maybe Gamma was at one time existant, but nobody cared about it because it sucked. Or FASA probably just goofed up big time.

My guess is on the latter.

No one said gamma has to be better than delta. It probably doesn't sell very well anyway, as anyone with enough cash will go all the way, so it makes sense that it wouldn't exist. Like the G4 Cube. Filled a narrow market segment between two extremes.

It probably would've merited mention, though, had it ever existed. I mean, you can't just skip over it entirely in a book dedicated just to new Cyberware and Cybermancy (Cybertechnology). My guess is FASA just botched their "I'm not an idiot" check.

Or maybe they just wanted four levels, didn't want to rename basic to alpha, and delta sounds cooler than gamma.

When it was first conceived, Gamma-grade cyberware was designated by the Corporate Court as being restricted to Critter and Paracritter experimentation.

Sure it's bullshit, but it works. :D

Street Doc A doesn't actually create (and hence name) the Cyber he installs. He gets it from Megacorp Y, who does follow the Corporate Court. ;)

Street Doc A could create his own 'ware. You can buy the stuff to do so, it's just gonna take out his wallet for years down the road.

While this is true, it isn't likely to be a better grade than Standard cyberware. He might be able to construct Alpha-ware, and if you really push it, maybe even Beta, but for anything equivalent to the next grade up from that, it is highly unlikely. Even if he does somehow accomplish it, he would make himself a nice, valid target for any headhunting Corp.

Besides, I like my answer. :D

Of course you do. :D

Besides, to do Delta, you have to make it just for that person. So it can be done, it would just take quite a while to finish.

To do Beta, it has to be at least partially created for that person.

I admit it could be done, but it isn't very likely. If the doc was that interested in creating uber-experimental cyberware, there are lots of other avenues he could, and most probably would follow.

And, like I said, if he was to be successful, he wouldn't be an independent Street Doc for long. ;)

Yes you are right. Ok how about Epsilon or Zeta Cyber (the next names in the progression of the Greek Alphabet).

Grade ______ Essance Cost Reduction ____ Cost Multiplier _____Availablity
Epsilon _____ - 70 % ( x .3 ) ____________ 12 _______________ + 12 / x 5

Grade ______ Essance Cost Reduction ____ Cost Multiplier _____Availablity
Zeta _____ - 90 % ( x .1 ) ____________ 16 _______________ + 16 / x 8

Yeah, if you've got 32,000,000 nuyen sitting around. And can manage the Etiquette roll to get it, and can negotiate it to be exactly listed value and not Street Index.

New from your favorite corp. It's new!!! It's cutting edge!!! It's the best Cyberware we have ever made get yours now. Prices may vary from dealer to dealer.

So yes for quite some time it will be expensive and dammed hard to get let alone even hear of. But hey you introduce it now in 2064 (read as new source book SOTA:2064) as a rumor. Wait till 2065 (read as new source book SOTA:2065) let it be available at oh my god prices. Wait till 2066 (read as new source book SOTA:2066) let it be available at somewhere around Delta costs.

Of course by then Delta should be at or around Beta costs.

Unfortunately, so far as I know, they've never published numbers for it.

Which is a shame, cause I like the idea of pinpoint accuracy with a grenade.

Bouncing it off some poor schmuck's forehead just adds insult to injury. :grinbig:

a detachable cyber face for the infiltrator types. with three or four faces lying around, everytime you needed to change your identity you just pop the old one off and slap a new one on. and just think of the possibilities when combined with a second retinal pattern and a voice mod...
