All this take of sexual repression. I live in the capital of it, Utah. My games stay in the Mature category but you can tell that the local culture influences how you present your game.

I'm from the midwest too actually.

Now I'll admit that some people didn't want to screw around and have orgies or whatever. However neither I nor my friends has shot anyone in the face. RPGs are disjointed from reality.

Now some groups don't like the gore either, especially if younger people are around. But I feel like the sex and violence tended to rise and fall together.

Am I correct in reading that for the people who just posted in games in your area people are eating their foes entrails while they're still alive but can't handle it if a female NPC loses her top?

Unless you're talking about gay buttsex, I don't think the shame thing and "sexual repression" is still around so much in the US. Even if the parents are trying their best.

Not true at all. People still loose their bloody minds from the least little things. Think about the Superbowl a couple years back. A nipple gets shown and the sponsors file law suits, the singers get bashed continually for weeks, in general, a hysterical puritanical reaction. Brittany Spears gets a few crotch shots getting out of her limo and again, you'd think she was being blamed for single handedly causing the fall of western civilization.

Very many people, especially in the US, but far from only there, are just coocoo about anything that smacks even lightly of sexuality. They're going nuts in England right now about a naked picture of a little girl that was on the cover of an art mag. So the US isn't alone. But you know, you can't pass a single street with billboards on it here in Vienna where there isn't some topless or bottomless girl or muscle stud, or both, posing and/or frolicking. You don't even notice it except to note that she or he looks damned good or that the ad looks tasteful or unappealing or whatever.

Who was it that said that? I was under the impression that sex and violence when used in the game were directly proportional.
