a SIN would be a social security number only if you used a social security number in absolutely every transaction you were part of from riding the bus to buying an ice cream cone. You are required in a lot of nicer areas to broadcast it at all times so people know who you are, and faling to do so is a crime. SINs are datamined all the time, with companies spamming you with advertisements, offers, etc constantly. Everything you do is recorded, thats why runners keep fake SINs so that they can ditch them when there is too much info attached to any given one.

I am really impressed by how this is going, so far. You're all very, very good players... I've been out of the online RPG scene so long, and you all are making me regret having stayed away! I am on for the next several hours, and I am very very much enjoying watching this unfold. I have a question as well, as I am finding that the whole SIN concept is leaving me a bit in the dust. How much information would be connected to a person's name? Is it similar, perhaps, to a highly advanced Google/Social Security system, where you get stuff about employment, criminal records, and basic indigraphy, plus anything that might have been "newsworthy"? I guess I am not really understanding how much would come up, in an ideal sx attempt. I recommend reading some of the posts inside of UNwired and Runner's to really get a feel for what your data footprint is. Luckily, being so sheltered, and not carrying a comm, Portia's at the moment next to immune. |

@Jake. What does Mia's search for external camera feeds come up with? Anything useful?

@Jake. What does Mia's search for external camera feeds come up with? Anything useful? You find that there's a camera on the driveway, and one on each entrance, showing you this is a rather opulent old-school house, but not much perimeter view, mostly incidental. |

Public access? If so is there archived footage too?
(If so Mia will skim back through it as far as she can, to try and find out who has been coming and going from the house.) Edit - This time she's checking out social networking and blogging sites for anyone listing their address as being on the same street as the targets house. To try and find anything interesting. (Hopefully Vergot picked the nosy neighbors flaw when setting up his house!) |

just an fyi: I'm pretty busy today. I'll be posting when I can, and keeping track of things as well as I can, but I won't necessarily be posting every five minutes.
RL is totally getting in the way of my gaming... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Which floor is the old orc on, or is it a single story house? |

@Jake - Do the door staff have anything useful in response to Mia's question? Or should I just skip waiting on the reply and move her over to a booth? (Oh and the question I asked last post on this thread about public access and archived footage was directed at you too. Basically I was wondering if there any accessable logs of when people came/went from the house).

Except these have sound scrubbers making eavesdropping a bitch. Also, no public access to the footage, and no on-network recording, you'd have to hack a Horizon security division to get it. |

Pose might have been missed in all the preperation stuff. Flicking back to AR Mia heads to collect her things from storage, giving the troll bouncer a friendly smile as she politely asks "Haven't had any German tough guys in tonight have you?" Hmm if there's no public access to the footage how did she know what the camera's showed? She was aiming for the free (or nominal fee) to subscribe too camera's which are all over LA according to the sourcebook. The sort of thing which makes the P2.0 work and suchlike, she's got high lifestyle so any nominal fee's for the footage she can cover if it's up for sale to interested parties. Should be cheap given it's dull footage. Oh and what results came up from her hunting through social networking data for the local area? Anyone posted anything interesting in regard to our target? (Basically Mia is trying to use the way LA works to her advantage, hoping the out of town types wouldn't have enough knowledge to keep themselves under the radar in that regard.) |

Steve says "Nope." on the German guy question. And the reason you can see his security cameras is because DD hacked the hell out of them, and routed a copy of the feeds to CreepWatch2070, if I'm not mistaken. Now, as for checking the social networking/P2.0 blanket for locational keywords, based on what you already know, you see the place is not really a focus of any public attention except occasional people commenting on what a nice classical house it is, and how they'd love to buy it. |

Ah, but those aren't the camera's I was interested in. Should have made it clearer in the post I guess, but Mia was looking for public access camera's on the street itself. Not ones linked into his house or security system. (Which is why she did a seperate search of the whole 'trix rather than a much quicker search of his security system). Now, as for checking the social networking/P2.0 blanket for locational keywords, based on what you already know, you see the place is not really a focus of any public attention except occasional people commenting on what a nice classical house it is, and how they'd love to buy it. Cool. The neighbors (assuming anyone lives next door) haven't complained on thier blogs or anything then huh? Shame although this implies he keeps things quiet close to home. |

We seem to be about set on everything except transportation. Does anyone have transportation? Or can we agree on something to get this going?

Mia has a bike, but that's not suitable for mass transport.

Every crowd is made up of individuals, and the Divine Comedy is pretty crowded. Here's one of the faces in the crowd. I'll throw him into things at some point, though he's unlikely to get too involved in anything that spills out of the club. He's fairly socially capable, but still focused on shooting people in the face. Background [ Spoiler ] Stats [ Spoiler ]

Hey DWC, I notice you have a car with a spoof chip. We could really use someone like you about now.

Hey DWC, I notice you have a car with a spoof chip. We could really use someone like you about now. I hadn't planned on hopping in just yet, primarily because there are already plenty of folks involved in what's going on. I figured that I'd wait for this "episode" to sort itself out, then hop in the next time things quiet down. |

Could we just steal a van? Or rent one?

How about we borrow a van from a rental place (DD handles the paperwork so that the van is listed as rented).
The advantage here is that we can make sure that there are no data trails back up us and the van won't be reported stolen because it is being "rented". If the milage, gas, and credit accounts all balanced out then the fact that no one remembers who actually rented the van and the person that rented the van could be one of a half dozen Bill Lee will never come up. I'll front the cred for the rental until we are paid. |

I'm here, folks, if we're going to do this. I'll be in and out every hour or so till we get some movement, and then I'll settle in and run.

I like CND's idea, I think at this point that would be the best way to actually get us moving at this point.

We could even use the target's SIN to rent the Van and then it's presence on his property will not raise any eyebrows until after the fact.
Do you think we could have it delivered or have one of the Orcs pick it up in disguise? |
