Four players - two newcomers and two groggy initiates - seek SR4 PbP gaming.
We'd prefer this as close to the defaults as possible, but feel free to pitch alternatives. Setting's wide open. We have access to the Core, Arsenal, Augmentation, Contacts, Unwired, Street Magic and the Runner's Companion - restrict as you like. One player is, err..Sporadic. If he doesn't check in within the day, we'll have one newcomer, two groggy initiates and an open slot. Drop us a line, will ya? |

So your looking for a GM then?
Edit: If so, I -might- be able to GM for you. All of the games I'm playing in are fairly slow right now, and the other game I'm GMing seems to have come to a stop, though I'm hoping to kick it up again here as nothing happened over the weekend. |

That's about the size of it! And that'd be just peachy, really. The rest of us born-again baboons oughta be reporting in within the day, if you'd care to meet the crew. |

Sounds good to me. See who we have and everything. We have 1-2 complete novices? Are you guys together that you can help each other out or should I expect to have to explain things to them?
Anyway, I'm off for a while, I'll check in in about 3-4 hours. |

We've still got quite a lot of reference material and regular contact with one-another, they've just got no experience.

Holy crap! If I had known it was this easy to get a GM to run a game on here, my old SR team would have tried this years ago.
Congrats, guys. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Yeah, way to go guys, I am kinda in awe. Maybe I will try a simular trick on a Mage: The Ascension forum I know of. I haven't had a good Mage game in years, and damn I miss it.

It's a bit shocking from here as well.
Don't despair just yet, though - Lazy McMook still hasn't checked in, as predicted, so we may have an open slot in around eight hours. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It's like the old saying goes: Ask and ye shall receive. Back to the game. You guys are just wanting a fairly standard SR format? 400BP, no super crazy races, standard hook up with a Johnson and go do stuff? With of course plenty of twist and turns and other fun stuff thrown in. Sounds fine. I don't mind you guys using all mentioned books, but I will warn you I haven't looked through Unwired, so don't expect me to make use of the advanced rules they present there (Though you are free to use them, such as the advanced programs and lifestyle spoofing and qualities and so on) So, if you guys would like, go ahead and get together some character sheets. And before anyone asks, no possession traditions, I've found them to be more trouble then they're worth. |

On Unwired: There's a Commlink Modification in there called a Simsense Booster - it provides another Initiative Pass in Hot Sim and *explicitly* stacks with Simsense Boosters from Augmentation, allowing 5 passes where they'd normally be capped at four.
You may want to use these, forbid them or remove the explicit stacking. On possession traditions: FACK! Y'mean we can't bind Force 12 Spirits and jack ourselves to Agility 21?! Fine, fine, can we still run all our buffs forever off a cadre of Spirits of Man? (Innate Spell is a "power", "Continual use of a power" is one service, Spirits of Man get "any spell the caster knows" as an Innate Spell) |

Handful of small problems, and one or two suggestions.
First off, I'm a little confused about this: Pistols : 4 ... Pistols (Semi-Automatics) : 1 Did you take Pistols twice by mistake? Or are you taking Pistols as part of the firearms group and then getting the specialization for it? The latter isn't allowed, you get the bonus of cheaper skills via groups or the boost of specialization, not both at creation. You can however spec later and continue to advance it as a group later. Second, ammo needs to be matched to a specific weapon, as do spare clips. A round for a sniper rifle is not the same as a round for a pistol (Though they cost the same) and the same is true of clips. Third, Fake Licenses also need to be declared as something specific -and- linked to a particular SIN. And on the subject of fake SINs it is nice to include some vague idea of the SIN. For example is the fake SIN a deliver guy or reporter or something like that. This I don't require though, but it can provide a potential bonus in certain situations. Fourth, Doc-Wagon needs to be linked to a SIN. I'm guessing it is linked to your actual one, but I just want to be sure on that. Fifth, Spirit Bane affect a particular spirit, so you'll need to declare a particular one. Other than those small errors looks fine. |

Just to clear it up.. All of his slugthrowers have four clips. two regular (one of which is in the weapon) and two Ex-EX. The grenade launcher has two frag clips and two HE.
Yes, he makes chemsniffers EXPLODE. Thankfully, I doubt he'll ruck it all at once. Also, the SINs are vaguely extrapolated. The licenses are: Driver's, Predator, M23 and Concealed Carry for both fake SINs. He likely has legal ones for his real SIN. He'll have to correct the specialization and such, though. See? Having players that know one-another has its advantages! |

Would you guys mind if I joined in? I could come up with a sheet very quickly. Thinking of playing an elven Face/gunslinger that's been around the block a few times but had a job go south and is looking to hook up with a crew willing to overlook his spotty rep. BTW, Karaden, how do you handle public awareness, Notoriety and Street cred? I was thinking of taking Bad Rep, Bad Luck, Hung Out To Dry and a pair of Custom Look revolvers. If you guys are full up or consider such a character concept to be too much of a potential pain in the ass (although, I'm actually a cautious player and would take the Common Sense quality; the character just has really bad luck), though, no hard feelings.

Your character looks fine except that decrease attribute spell needs to be learned to affect a single particular attribute, you don't get to pick whichever you want as your casting it. (If I remember properly) Edit: As for those others wanting to join, I'll leave that more up to the group, as they apparently already all know each other. They said that one person may or may not join, and if so his slot is free. I could likely handle 5 people, but like I said, I'll leave that to the group. |

Lurker reporting in. been lazing around for a chance to join a game. I've played shadowrun before and love the system, and I've got a character I like, just, it seems nearly impossible to find a game for it.
I'll toss my name into the hat for possible replacements. Edit: Thinking of playing a cybered Sniper/Gunslinger/Stealth specialist, favoring shotguns. |

For what it's worth, I revised the concept to a "handler" (bodyguard/face) that screwed up on his last job. Decent combat, excellent perception, very good social skills with a hefty dose of intimidation. Still would have a fair bit of notoriety.

I also know the incoming Rigger, and we do seem short on Matrix skills. so a Rigger would be useful (especially if she can also HAX)
No offense to the others, but Markov here is currently planning a Face/Spy, and I'd rather not have niches stomped. Also, it's a Decrease Willpower spell - good for deeper probes, more painful Manabolts and longer memory alterations. Meriss, yer in. |

A sniper still fits well. Lemme tell you, being the only character with stealth skills, especially as a face, is not fun. (which is what I'm interpreting face/spy as) I learnt that the hard way with my first character.
Edit: Missed the bit about Meriss being in, good luck to you all. With me luck finding a game. Edition of edit: Say, all us lad and ladies rejected out to get together and try this again |
