EDIT: For those who don't know my Shadowrun site, or haven't seen this thread, this is where I post updates to let people know there is new material up there. To save people wading through lots of conversation, I'll be posting links to the specific update notifcation posts on this page. The reason for linking to posts rather than directly to the material, is because there is sometimes additional information in the posts.

Latest Update Post 12-06-09: Here (Opposition Roster Update).

My Site.

Firstly, I want to thank those people who hosted archives of my material while the site was in limbo. I have no problem with people continuing to do so if they wish. My site, however, is back.

I thought it was best to just get it up there and worry about sorting out the new stuff afterwards, so you'll see some changes and fresh material on there over the next few weeks.

New material... Some of it has been seen before: I've put up part one of Dark King in the art and fiction section. And yes, I've almost finished part two. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) We also have some blank NPC, Grunt and Vehicle sheets. What makes these sheets different to anyone elses? They are small. I am a GM with limited table space when I game and I like to cram as many stats as I can onto a single side of A4.

I am particularly pleased with my Yak House which has probably the best maps I have ever done. I'd really like some feedback on that if anyone uses it / likes it.

As before, the material is all there for people to make use of. The only things I would request are that (a) people choose to link to the material if passing it around rather than email / host copies elsewhere. That's way I can see how many people are downloading the material which is gratifying to me. And (b) if you use something, please post to say how it went or any comments. I make most of this stuff for my own game but I put a bit of additional work in to make it web-suitable because I like the feedback. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'll be adding more stuff as I finish it. Hope people find this useful.

P&BC,

Khadim Nasser.

Seriously though, nice to see the site back up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Several years ago I was called "Michael Jackson" by a pimp. It was clearly meant as a put down, but to this day I still don't know why.

But this is off-topic, I fear. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Glad you like the site.

EDIT: I have statistical software on the site that tells me how many people are on and what's been downloaded. It's great to see that a few minutes after *ahem* pimping my site, there are nine people on there. I even have someone from Denmark! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It's nice. I like it.

Have you thought about trying to put a matrix sign up sheet for a game you might like to GM? Might be a good idea if you know... your group of players right now sucks. I mean I don't know why I'm saying this, but I thought I would put it out there for no reason what so ever. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

I'd think about it. I don't have any experience of online GM'ing. Everyone skypes away, yes? Yahoo chat or what? Also, what do I use for sketching out my "no, no, no - you're behind this door, the monster is over there!" diagrams?

Incidentally, please notice that the N.O.C.L.U.E. files are taking submissions. There seem to be a lot of new and returning players about these days so I think people must have stories for it.... Anyone want to contribute? Just email me if you do.

Also, if other people have Shadowrun material they'd like to share I could add it to the site. You get the benefits of unlimited bandwidth and being somewhere where there's a reasonable amount of Shadowrun traffic.

To those who gave me stuff to host previously, a couple of the items are temporarily down. That's simply because I ran out of space on the page with my new material and I didn't want to start re-designing everything before I put the site back up. They will return. Email me if you have any questions.

K.

Oh yeah, I suppose there's that. Doesn't really fit the context, though. Pimp threatens my neighbour. I hear him and come out to protect neighbour. Pimp says: "Who do you think you are? Michael Jackson?" and walks off. It can't be the clothes 'cause I was in my underwear. I think I'll go with your voice theory. I like that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Anyway, 30 mins and 45MB of stuff downloaded. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Come on people - take more!

Of course, another theory is that your actions gave the pimp the impression that you thought of yourself as 'Bad'. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The following link to 404 Not Found - at least on my browser. The rest of your Shadowrun links function normally. I think I had the same problem with them before you took your site down, but cannot remember for certain.

Setting Material & Modules
Cold Blood
A collection of guns by Raven Bloodyes
SR4 Cannon Companion Conversions by NightmareX

Fluff Material & Game Advice
History of the Matrix
A short questionnaire to assist in character development

took you long enough O.o
oh, and by the way, the menu is not really working for me . . i hover the mouse over the shadowrun link, which is more or less in the center part of the screen, and the links underneath pop out too far to the left . . if i try to go there with the cursor, the links vanish O.o at least in firefox on a 22" widescreen . .
using IE7 i can actually get to the links without them vanishing again, but this time around they hover above and across the no clue files making it kinda hard to read o.O
Utilizing Opera, the links appear on the same position as they did with FireFox, but in opera i can move the mouse to the links without them going bye bye on me every time . .
the colour of the links also makes it kinda hard to read when they appear on the picture of . . whatever that is on the left hand side *g*

sorry ^^

Yes, how the primary links are setup are very annoying (but usable - barely).

Okay - all fixed (I had to go looking for the Ravencorp Guns). Any more broken links, just let me know.

Thanks,

Okay - they're tricky for me as well. I'll have to ask my housemate to take a look at them when he gets home as he helped me with the layout. I probably messed the menus up by fiddling with them somehow. You can just click on the main heading however and it will take you to a page with all the sub-links displayed in the body of the page so you can still get to everywhere. The sub-menus are just shortcuts that take you directly there.

Thanks,

K.

I think I was able to pull some stuff off there in the past using the Wayback Machine. ... or looking at the archive's pages, maybe I just went there, saw your site had been archived and assumed I could get at it's content (you can't for most of it). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Sweet site, knasser, and I'm glad to see it's back. I'll likely be using some of the PDFs as reference for new players.

I'd actually be honored if you'd host the one piece of fiction I've posted here as well: The Work

I'd think about it. I don't have any experience of online GM'ing. Everyone skypes away, yes? Yahoo chat or what? Also, what do I use for sketching out my "no, no, no - you're behind this door, the monster is over there!" diagrams?

I've played online real-time games using chat programs like AIM, which were hella fun. I've never used Skype, but I've tried voice chat before, which kinda sucks with strangers because a lot of times you don't know who's the person saying something. There's a thingie called OpenRPG that supposedly lets you display maps and stuff, which I've heard good things about, but I've never used it myself.

Anyway online is definitely a good medium if your group sucks balls, or you don't have one at all. Forum games here are good for flexing your writing muscles, but the drawback is that they run much, much slower than a regular game, and have a tendency to fizzle out.

Have you thought about you know.... PDFs? It's simple that way. However there are also some good programs for your group located online.

I'd be happy to. My normal approach is to PDF something up so I'll copy and paste from your link if that's okay. I'll credit you as Kerris unless you want to send me other details. Do you want me to add any contact details to the PDF, e.g email address?

Well I'll scratch the idea of voice then as I'm a pretty quick typist anyway. I don't think I'd be interested in a forum / pbem game as I wouldn't have the patience.

Hey - have you seen my site? I am a master of PDFs. But when the group suddenly decides they want to gatecrash a troll stripjoint, I'm not going to be able to knock up a full PDF on the fly. Better to have some sort of online sketch pad. I'm sure there's something out there. I'll look at Krayola Red's OpenRPG perhaps if I ever do this.

Thanks for all the downloads. I can see about thirty people grabbed the Yak House PDF. If anyone wants to post a comment / feedback on it, it would be nice for me. Likewise the blank sheets. They took ages while I was learning the program.

K.

While I have never used OpenRPG, I have looked at it (& some similar non-free programs). It has been a while, but if I remember correctly, it is basically a chatroom with public & private channels, & a visual screen where you can upload or sketch on-the-fly maps, as well as move around digital markers. I believe it also has a built-in dice rolling program, but I do not know if it shows the die rolls individually (important for Shadowrun).

Also, if you ever do start up such an online group, I may be interested in playing, if there is room.
