Hacking (6) + Stealth (9) = 15 dice for Hiding on the To's Noodles node (other icons are at -6 to detect). [5,6,5,3,2,3,2,1,2,3,5,6,1,1,2] (5 hits). Went ahead and assumed that Malloc.I was moving around undetected, not that most people would care if a strange icon was logged into a public node. Matrix perception tests: Computer (1) + Analyze (6) + Observe in Detail (3) +AI bonus (3) = 15 dice. Will simply buy 3 successes, since I don't really care. Can ask three questions about the random corp icons (which I don't expect to matter much), but they'll be: - What is their System rating? - What is their Firewall rating? - What is their Encryption rating? I assume those are the sorts of "ratings" one can get from this test - not 100% clear on encryption, but since one would have to decrypt it before attempting to access the node, this seems like how you would gauge how hard that is. Don't spend a lot of time on any response, since I have no intention of taking up a lot of time digging around in their systems (since it would probably not matter), but a general sense of their ratings might be useful. If the corp has deep pockets, these guys might be all rolling with blinged out Calibans running rating 6 custom corporate OSs with military-grade encryption, or something - and so one might think they could afford more than their offering for important data. If they had to buy their own comms, and they're all running Vector Xim, with no encryption, then one might get the opposite impression. So, its not a total waste of time to check, I'm guessing. They have 3/3/3/3 commlinks, and generally generic, corp-approved data. Johnson has a disposable with a little Shiawase mail and nothing else inside. |

Here is Dancer's negotiation roll. Some of the modifiers might or might not apply, but the good thing about Invisible Castle is that if there are negative modifiers, you can just go right to left and take them off.

In the data that is given, is there any indication of what the dotted or curvy lines mean? Also, are any of the other numbered rooms labeled (or are we effectively blind to the rest of the facility until we get there)?

[1,1,6,4,4,3,2,2,5,3,2,5,1]
Roll for security design professional knowledge skill (includes specilization). So, 3 hits for matrix security, and 2 hits for non-matrix security. Malloc.I basically wants to go over the blueprints provided, and see if everything seems as he might expect - especially if the company has secret MegaCorp ties. Also, to gauge (in case the J doesn't know) the matrix security for a place like that (understanding that it won't connect to the target datachip). Do the three doors on the south side open up to the outside? Also, curious about what the other "deniable assets" were responsible for, so we know which parts of the plan we have to double-check ourselves - as Dancer pointed out. Little confused. By "other deniable assets" was he indicating the rest of the team? or the deniable assets he mentioned earlier who have "disabled most of the security"?
Also, are dotted lines the same as curvy lines (alarm sensors)? |

I had her accept the job in the last post, but I probably should have made it dialog so it would stand out a bit more. Hopefully the new post is clearer.

4 credsticks? Are there not 5 of us there?
Granted, the pixie is small, but she dropped concealment, and the hacker is embodied in a hologram. The doc, whisper, and dancer are there in person. |

I was a bit puzzled by that, myself. And concealment or not, the Johnson would know how many team members got called to meet with him. It may just be a typo, and meant to be 5 credsticks, so I'll see what the GM has to say before I have Dancer say anything about it IC.

[1,3,5,5,1,1,1,1] for Datasearch.
2 hits, but managed to glitch on the first roll. Will use a use of edge to negate that. [3,2,3,4,6,1,5,5] [2,5,5,1,5,3,2,5] [6,1,4,1,1,5,4,5] [2,1,5,2,2,4,2,5] [4,6,4,2,2,3,3,5] [5,3,4,6,4,6,1,6] [4,4,2,2,5,6,2,2] Total of 20 hits over 8 rolls. |

Hey Curuinor, can I make a quick tweak on Dancer? When I added her cyber, I forgot to update her fake licenses. Can I reduce her clothing from 1500 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) to 1100 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) to add a rating: 4 fake cyberware license (for the smartlink)?

You know, you're the only player of SR I ever met who even bothered with licenses. |

Well, I suppose before making a bunch of rolls to start probing a way in, can Malloc.I even find access to their node? Assuming they don't have a public site hosted there - its probably another batch of data-searches to find the access id of their node, so I can attempt to connect to it - but let me know if there is some other method (like, if the J left access ID, commcodes, etc).
Extended Test Rolls (15 hits over 8 rolls, 1 potential glitch, but I'll use another edge to negate it - no use in tipping them off that someone is looking for this information) Man, my luck with glitching data searches sucks. |

Some information:
Malloc.I would probably realize that 2:00 is the best time for any raid, as it is darkest and pretty much everyone has or can get vision enhancement. However, the same is true for any guards. 10:00 is probably the best time for scouting, for the reverse reason. |

Well, I was hoping just to get the information I need to connect, and then once I had that, I was going to post about trying to connect stealthily - so as not to tip them off that anythign si strange (such as someone logging in and disappearing, or doing nothing). Since the BBB says to assume anyoen runnign stealth is hiding:
Matrix stealth test: [4,2,3,3,2,1,5,1,4,4,1,3,6,6,2] = 3 hits Based on your analyze roll, the IC probably doesn't spot Malloc.I at all, right? |

if Necessary to save the GM effort, Rose can have sent her agent to gather public information about the available security options offered in the area.

Ok one, I want to astrally scout the location, check the ward, check for spirits etc, spend about 2 hours observing in detail from astral. The other thing is I want to summon and Bind two force 3 spirits, one a Air, and one a Water. These appear in the form of animals from the Chinese calendar. I am not really sure what rolls I need for the astral scouting, but I do know what I need for the binding and will get those to you later today unless you want to do them.

I did them on invisible castle but that sight is anything but intuitive. So I am going to go back and see if I can grab the raw rolls off of it and post them here. For Cur only: [ Spoiler ]

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1862783/
The great thing with invisible castle is that you can do things like this. Now, you incidentally did not add your power focus dice to anything(you have 2 for each summoning that can go to drain or the actual summoning). I will, therefore, let you roll those incidentally-horrible dice again if you wish. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1863124/ Those are the dice I rolled for summoning. So you don't really need to re-roll. |

Now, if you don't want to reroll, you get 3 services from the water spirit(due to its critical failure) as well as +2 dice to bind it, and 1 stun damage from the air spirit.
