--What is the character's name?

Hamilton Wade, though he goes by Nuke professionally, a name he was saddled with thanks to his temper.

--What is the characters race, nationality, age, sex, height, weight, hair color, eye color, and skin color/tone, and build?

Hamilton is a male of fairly pure Mohawk descent. Born in Thunder Bay, AMC on June 21st, 2047, he’s in his mid twenties. His original eyes were dark brown and he keeps his replacement cybereyes the same color. His black hair is kept cut short to keep it out of his way.

--Where did your character learn his/her skills?

His brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles taught him to shoot and sneak around. He picked up his hacking and electronics expertise from family friends and his own research.

--What did your character do before becoming a runner?

Before he became a shadowrunner, Ham was a lookout for his family’s smuggling business, watching transactions through a rifle scope and intercepting wireless communications between the other side and their own backup.

--Does your character have any family?

Tons. Ham grew up as one of four brothers, with eleven aunts and uncles and close to thirty first cousins. Most still live in the Thunder Bay area.

--What are your characters dreams/goals/aspirations?

Make enough money to retire.

--What is the characters general appearance?

Aside from the black chrome lower left arm, he looks like an unremarkable, reasonably active twenty-something human male. His clothes are never flashy, nor are they conspicuously in poor condition.

--Why did they choose to be a shadow-runner?

It paid better than smuggling and got him away from his family.

--What is the characters personality?

As the youngest of his swarm of family, he was perpetually the beta in any relationship, which left him shy, and extremely bitter.

Ironically, he likes being in the presence of others who enjoy being the center of attention, since they make it easier for him to go unnoticed.

--What skills does your character bring to this group? What makes them special?

Nuke is a very solid hacker, capable of both long term probing and information gathering and of brute force attacks and electronic warfare. He’s also a very competent sniper when more physical actions are needed. He sets himself apart from the average hacker by being a solid secondary combatant and infiltrator, rather than a liability to be dragged along by the infiltration and combat specialists.

--What are some things your character cannot do?

Complex social interactions are his primary failing, due largely to his own shyness and self confidence issues.

--What does your character hate and why?

Bullies, and anyone who else who victimizes those who can’t defend themselves.

--What does your character love?

Nuke loves living his life without the government intruding. As an extension of this, he has come to particularly enjoy hiding in plain sight, pretending to be another brick in the wall while secretly being an outlaw.

--What does your character respect?

Women. He grew up in a strongly matriarchal family and holds an almost religious reverence for aggressive women.

--How was your character educated?

He went to primary school in Thunder Bay, but dropped out at 15 to join the family business full time.

--What is your characters moral code?

Don’t get caught. Don’t steal from people who trust you.

--Does your character have any political beliefs? Religious?

None in particular. Politics are something he’s never had the time to care about.

His great grandfather was a member of the Mohawk Warrior Society during the Oka Standoff, and gave the bandana he wore over his face to Ham when he was four.

Nuke is a convicted felon in the AMC. After a post run exchange went bad, he spent a year in federal prison for possession of stolen property and numerous weapon and cyberware possession violations. When he was released, he fled the AMC to Seattle, borrowed some money from the Yellow Lotus Triad, and chromed himself back up using 2nd hand cyberware.

Fixer (L:2/C:4). Bernie Natron is an old Salish man, and a retired smuggling partner of one of Ham’s uncles. When Ham decided to move to Seattle, he put the kid in touch with the triads he borrowed money from and is helping Ham find work to keep paying them back.

Cracker Underground (L:1/C:3). Back in Calgary, Ham worked his way into the city’s hacker underworld and made the contacts that he’d need to keep himself in a steady supply of illegal software. Anything good that he comes across gets cleaned up and uploaded to the network, and in exchange, he pulls down anything useful he stumbles across.

Wednesday 20:31:32, I-5 Northbound, Downtown

The big chopper rumbled underneath Nuke as it brute forced its’ way through Seattle’s cool, damp evening air. The interstate was largely empty at this time of night. All the wage slaves were already home, and the party crowd wouldn’t be out yet. It was a good time for peace and quiet.

He swerved around a subcompact with a U of S sticker. Probably some kid headed back to campus after some internship downtown. Poor bastard. Twenty years old and already doomed to civilian life. In ten years, he’d have a wife, a kid, a mortgage, and be dead inside. Then he’d get to work the next forty years making someone he’d never meet even richer.

A beep from his decoy commlink indicated an incoming message from the driver. He opened it with a thought and found a quick message tagged with a picture of a winking asian girl. <<Nice bike, cutie.>>

Nuke blushed and snapped the throttle all the way open, fleeing the driver’s attentions.

The suspension unloaded for a second as he crested the approach ramp of the upper deck of the Ship Canal Bridge with the engine wide open. Remembering his lessons, he leaned forward to keep the front wheel down as the chopper broke the 100mph barrier.

Suddenly very aware of his speed, and very nervous about it, his sweating right palm loosened on the throttle and the bike slowed back to something approaching the speed limit.

She is kind of cute. Not that she’d actually want anything to do with an ex-con, though. Especially not one who’s just learning to ride.

The navigation system warned that he would be approaching the Northgate Mall soon. It took less than a second to connect to the traffic monitoring system cameras and survey the on and off ramps. It was approaching closing time and the parking lots were starting to empty out. He drifted over to the left lane and shot past the whole snarled interchange.

Up ahead in the distance, the star filled sky of Snohomish called to him.

Edgar Michael Thomas. He hasn't used that name since He joined a Special tactics squad in 2048 (he was 23). He's gone by Jasper for so long that its become more real than his birth name.

He was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the usual north American mutt, mostly Irish and and and Portuguese with a smattering of Japanese and Cherokee. Raised in the CAS he got a good southern tan. At the age of forty five, his brown hair is turning grey and he's getting a good beer gut. 4'10" and 160lbs = kinda fat.

--Where did your character learn his/her skills?

He grew up racing beat up cars and four wheelin with friends. When he joined the army they took advantage of that and trained him along that track.


--What did your character do before becoming a runner?

his short stature and southern drawl made for an unassuming personality, he got drafted into a new military project that utilized him for unorthodox wet works utilizing engineering instead of combat prowess."happy little accidents". (When maintenance fixes your car or your elevator, look for the little black box)

--Does your character have any family?

He has an Alcoholic father and a saint of a mother that think he died 22 years ago. Doesn't want to make their lives any worse. Jasper is also hoping the army hasn't dragged them into the search for him since he went AWOL, but he can't risk the visit home.

He has this one dream where SINderella is licking jack Daniels out of his chest hair, but hey, he's a lonely old man. Right now he's in survival mode. trying to get a safer place to hide out, get some better gear to defend himself. One day he imagines a little compound out in the woods where he can fish, drink, tinker in his garage, and maybe even find a little woman to cook for him. I mean how much could the Army care about an over the hill rigger anyway.

--What is the characters general appearance?

You ever have a car break down in "the middle of nowhere" and pull into the only garage for miles? You seen the guy that comes out to greet you? you notice how he's up to his eyeballs in grease even though there is obviously no other customers around? He's that guy. Old ball cap and safety glasses. sweaty and greasy 90% of the time. coveralls and work boots. his second chin looks like a bean bag chair for his face. his arms kinda stick out at the side because of his round shape. and unless you're a dwarf he's probably eye level with your nipples.

--Why did they choose to be a shadow-runner?

Gotta make the money. not gonna get honest work. he helped out at a chop shop for a while until he could get himself a truck. now he's moving up from crazy taxi, to small time smuggler, to doing some serious runs. Its hard to get used to the civilian tech, and his age isn't helping. so he's been knocked down quite a few pegs.


--What is the characters personality?

A little nihilistic, a little apathetic, a little lonely. but he has a rough, relaxed, and upbeat exterior. He doesn't take things too seriously and has a blunt sense of humor. (think Foghorn Leghorn if you get that reference)

--What skills does your character bring to this group? What makes them special?

He can drive better that just about anyone. you ride shotgun in his tata hotspur, you're probably getting away. also, he's pretty good with a toolbox, almost any toolbox. I think he adds a little bit of an "out of the box" option to have around. And like the military told him people aren't always expecting the dirty, short, fat man to kill them.

--What are some things your character cannot do?

Jasper can't jump or go toe to toe with trolls in swat gear. he can't sit through church or give elocution lessons. doesn't know the first thing about magic. He can't see his toes. He can't go a week without a beer. he can't play the guitar. he can't speak a second language(although he's been meaning to learn. typical confederate American) And he can't find a woman that can cook and put up with his jokes

--What does your character hate and why?

Arrogant special forces types. The military. civilians. Chinese food(it tears him a new one). cheap tools. Wine drinkers. neck ties. running out of beer. people that hack his network. Men crying. women crying. spam. torture(when used on him). Texas barbecue. befriending people just to kill them. talking politics. short jokes (fat jokes don't bother him)

--What does your character love?
North Carolina barbecue. Smooth operations. the sound of a clean engine. cold beer on a hot day. cold beer in general. a good screwgun. new cars. old cars. good jokes. old ball caps. dogs. racing. a good card game with friends. surprising the enemy in fun ways. lots of options.

smart tactics. magic users. loyalty. people that hold their liquor. people that keep thier word.

Homeschooled until he went into the military

he's sick of killing for very little reason. he's still working on where to draw the line now that he's done it for so long. but when push comes to shove, all is fair in love and war. he's a believer in survival.

He's loosley Christian, and as he gets closer to the end of his life, it seems to come up more often. he's done with politics

every drone and vehicle he names. if you mention dorothy, he might cry.

Jasper misses having a tight knit team he considered friends. he hopes to have that again. But he trusts no one and usually has his drones scripted to kill anything that moves if his biomoniter goes dead and they don't hear from him in 30 seconds. hopefully he'll get to know smeone well enough to share the passkey.

OK, I've edited the matrix attributes on my vehicles, I'm still not sure about them. I didn't upgrade them, so i'm just trying to figure out the standard. if my vehicle has a device rating of 3, it's matrix attributes are 3, yes? but if it has a pilot of 2. that lowers the firewall and system to 2 as well? or should the firewall and system stay at 3?

Fortunately, you can get a single R6 Firewall program, bust the copy protection, and put a copy of it on pretty much everything you own except the RFID tag in your socks.

Rossi has his half suit of form fitting armour on, all his PPP parts (they're the discreet kind) and his Berwick suit.

He's wearing Hardliner gloves and has the following hidden about his person his commlink, respirator, a mini-welder, a pack of 10 plastic restraints and he'll have his browning ultra power in a concealed holster loaded with Hollow points.

I should note now that none of his gear has wireless enabled (and in the case of his pistol the computer parts are gone entirely leaving a simple totally dumb weapon) and he's running rating 6 empathy software on his cybereyes.
