Sounds cool - perfect opportunity to play a grease-monkey mechanic character that I've been imagining for a while. He wouldn't be worth anything in a typical SR game, but I'll be able to get him out of my system with this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also and FYI-both our PC's at Tom's 500pt level game are Ex Firewatch team members. If that helps with the back ground and how the group is interrelated. That was by accident, however.

The denver PC for me is a Troll street sam that is a member of a death speed metal band (DS-Demon Spawn). Your PC may know him, or seen his music video on the trid.

BTW-I can't meet this sunday (father's day), but I can on the 28th.

I think the 28th is free at this point. The Game Parlor again, or somewhere else? And what time? I'm free pretty much any time.

Let's meet at GP Chantilly at 11:00 AM. I can play until 4:00 PM. Does that time work for everyone?

Hey all, I'm new to these forums and saw your posts. I love Shadowrun and have for years but have never had a chance to play. I especially love 4E. I'd love to get in on your game if you're still willing to accept new players.

But I'm leery of committing and not being able to make it. I'm from MA but I'm a student in DC and I'm spending the summer living down here in Silver Spring MD. I could possibly get a ride to Chantilly but I doubt it. If you guys are set on having your game there then never mind.

Thanks

MFG-Most of us live in NOVA, so I doubt the location will change to DC or MD. At most it will move to one of our places, in NOVA.

I think we are going to continue CFix's 500pt starting character game (we've atarted the first mission). After this mission, we can then discuss what we want we do next.

That sounds good to me...was fleshing out my character this morning. Basically a gunslinger adept who can act as the face if needs be as well as stealth a little bit if needs be. Also has some first aid training if needs be (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Lots of 'if needs be', not really any pure specializations.

Hope that'll help the group....

Really looking forward to playin on Sun!

As for Machine From God it might be possible to pick you up from the Vienna/Fairfax metro if you really want to play! (and assuming everyone else doesn't mind another player)
Jeff.

No love from The Game Parlor regarding the table. I'll get there as early as possible and (hopefully) I'll find an unreserved one. Otherwise, we'll need to prepare to move to another location.

It's a long haul but do-able if they have a table. I'll offer my house as a backup site too...we haven't bought a big dining room table yet, but I can put out a couple of card tables. I'm in the Fox Mill area (North of 50, just East of the Fairfax County Parkway).

I'd rather play at Armiger's place.

I'm ok with that...just let me know where and I'll be there.

500 pt build, right? Anything I should know before final finalizing of the character about the campaign??

I know we need a face type, right?

Face or hacker would be good, but anything will work. I've got a stealth and combat dude, and Warlordtheft has a combat mage if I remember correctly.

I'll PM my address to everybody. I'm planning on 11-4 unless somebody needs to change that...but there really aren't any constraints as far as when I can play/host.

EDIT: PMs sent to cREbralFIX, Silver12, and Warlordtheft. If anybody else is planning on attending tomorrow, let me know and I'll send my info.

I have absolutely no idea how to do a hacker, but I I'll give it a shot!......and I'll try to mix the face in there as well since we are 500pt build.

What are good skills/attributes for a hacker type? I thought I remember a post somewhere saying this was more magic-heavy than most?

Yeah, although the current run isn't too heavy into magic (yet, anyhow), I think CFIX intends to make it a "spirit hunter" sort of campaign. Obviously the combat mage will be front & center against the spirits, but anybody can do pretty well with Stick-N-Shock ammo and some luck. It seems that a hacker would be useful for background info and dealing with the more mundane (and techno) aspects of the world.

I don't remember if some of the Face adept abilities affect spirits...if so, some of the "I command you to kill yourself" abilities might be useful as well if you go deeper into the Face route.

Somehow, I think CFIX will tweak the campaign to match whatever we have, though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I'm ok with that. Especially since I'll need to get to my brothers place in Restion (He lives off of Lawyers).

Side note: Kyle will be joining us as well.

Good to see we'll have four players.

Hacker/face...seems OK. Just remember there will be combat. It is a hunting type campaign.

I would almost say Hacker/gun bunny or Hacker/Adept. Get cybered up and take the magic reduction. Remember to use the modifed rules for the 20th Anniversary edition (the PDF of the deltas is on Dumpshock as a sticky). Heck, be a Hacker/Mage for all I care.

Your character does NOT have to be optimized with huge dice pools in one or two skills. In fact, he can suck as badly as you want. It's YOUR character, so build him how you want. If he's running around with horns and a tail, so be it.

Skills at level 3 mean the character can make a living with the skill. A "4" means they have a advanced knowledge and would be recognized by peers as a "go to" guy for that particular subject. A "5" means the character is a hot shit expert, but the price is years of experience, training and self-guided learning. At max, "6" means the character is in the top 10% in the country--he or she is just not known for some reason or another.

Additionally, here are the "house" rules:

1) Your character shall play well with others. No loners, social outcasts designed to piss off other players or any of that.

2) The GM is a player too.

3) Each character shall have a foil. The foil means you do something badly and another player does that well. It can be just about anything so long as it is roleplaying oriented. We should sit down tomorrow and hash that out.

4) The game exists for all players to have fun. If you're not having fun, bring it up with the group and we'll work something out.

5) Continuity is "flexible" in terms of getting other players involved. It's just a game, not a professional novel, script or anything. Sometimes we'll just have to say "FWAH" and wave our magic wands to fix a problem.

6) Collaborative gamemastering. I think some of this will happen. If that's the case, I refer you to these articles:

http://www.gnomestew.com/gaming-trends/my-...-game-mastering

http://www.gnomestew.com/gming-advice/meth...-game-mastering

7) If your PC dies, die with drama. Make it fun and collaborate with the other players to make it memorable. There's nothing more dull than when a GM says "OK, you took eleven points of damage from the grenade. [Checks off boxes]. You're dead." Don't get all pissy and don't worry. You can create a new character that's at the same power level as the other characters.

I think we discussed playing in July a little bit. When would be the next time we could get together?

July 5th? July 12th? July 18th? July 25th? or are we looking at August?
