This is a short film I was shown today. It seemed germaine to earlier discussions about AR and what it looks like.

Also, it's just generally awesome.

What's in the Box?

Just in case anyone is wondering, no, it is not the start of an Augmented Reality game (like I Love Bees or Vanishing Point). I decompiled the swf on the website and there's an array that holds random text to display very rapidly.

I kid you not, this is what the variable name is:

bullshitArray

That's awesome!

I believe it's the trailer for someone's film project in the Netherlands.

It's based on Half-Life 2. Almost all of the sounds and voices have been taken from that game and the giant tower is also a huge givaway. Dunno what the box is supposed to mean.

Maybe it's a miniaturized version of the Companion Cube from Portal (a puzzle game from the same HL universe).
Everybody falls in love for the cube... that's why they're trying to kill the one who carries it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotfl.gif)

If you want to see another awesome Half-Life 2 inspired project using loads of post-production:

Sadly there's no AR in this one.
