Would troll meat be the same price as other metahuman meat? It's got all sort of subdermal bone deposits in it.

Try skinning it before you eat it. I can't think of any mammialian meat that's eaten with the skin on.

There's several preparations of pork where the skin is intentionally left intact (they just remove the hairs) to produce a thick, roasted crust which is said to be particularly delicious.
As a vegetarian, i can hardly say wether the part with the deliciousnes is true, as the idea of a whole suckling pig roasted on the spit (Spanferkel, a delicacy in Bavaria) is somehow nauseating to me, but there's a lot of people who swear by it and even claim that the skin is the best part of the dish.

However, pigs don't have dermal deposits, so...yeah, you're probably right about that part.^^

Come to think of it, I've had roasted pig before. With skin. I'd forgotten about that particular party... it was the 50th birthday party of a prominent Renfaire actor (Karl the Troll, for those of you familiar with Gig Harbor).

From my now corrected first post:
"Infected Lifestyle" costs +30% of Middle or higher lifestyle, for a floor cost of 50¥ per day, or 350¥ per week.

Infected also need 5% of their body weight per week. Of course body weight varies considerably by race, but around 95 kg is a good approximate weighted average.

Given the above values, metahuman flesh therefore has an average value of 75¥ per kg.

With the price now spelled out, 'looting bodies' can be more profitable than ever. An average body can go through a Tam contact and still net you almost 50% of what a typical run might pay. Stealing cars isn't even so profitable, so SINless street-trash are likely going to become an endangered species.

Their only going to pay you ~10% of that $75, so your looking at $7.5 a kg of meat. Not as valuable then, and your dealing with the just pure evil.

It still works out to about (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) 712 per human corpse (95kg). Trolls would be worth more.

No such thing. If you're going to shoot a guy in the face for money, then it's not evil to sell his flesh for food, or to make use of his skin and bones for arts and crafts time, etc. Full use of your prey's remains is an old concept.

I was talking about the group your dealing with being pure evil, not selling the body. I played CP2020 for years and my fav quote is "Parts is parts, Dead is dead, dead guys is parts". Selling body to an organ bank or such is a little warped but good money. Selling the body to an organization made up of monsters that feed on the essence of human life, practice the darkest forms of magic, etc is working with the pure evil bastards.

95kg average for humans?! Thats 209lbs, a little on the high side don't you think? I believe that 95kg number came from averaging all the races. And that number includes the weight of bones and such, so the value per pound would go down. Your looking at $400 to $500 for a human male, which is still a decent chunk of change.

Just use 1kg = 2.2lbs for quick and dirty math. If you need exact numbers, its 1kg = 2.20462262lbs.

70 kg is generally used as the ideal human male.

Isn't all this talking about the cost of human flesh a little morbid?

I did not say a human weighed 95 kg, I said that 95kg was a reasonable weighted average for metahuman body-weight.

For the record (per SR4A), the average masses of metahumanity are:
  •   54 kg (120 lb) - Dwarf
  •   78 kg (170 lb) - Human
  •   80 kg (175 lb) - Elf
  • 128 kg (280 lb) - Ork
  • 300 kg (660 lb) - Troll
The mean of all five races is 128 kg. However this is skewed both by the significant size of trolls, and by the inherent assumption that the races are equally represented in the population.

Since population ratios vary from region to region, I simply dropped dwarves and trolls from the calculation as outliers, and averaged elves, orks, and humans, getting 95 kg.

Also remember that the weight of the dermal deposits would have to be subtracted from troll weight.

I'd think dwarves would weigh more than that at a glance, considering their muscle density.

Sarge: "I only drink the blood of my enemies... and occasionally a Strawberry Yoohoo... or Sarsaparilla... Grenadine, straight from the can, dee-licious... Oh, occasionally I do enjoy a Sex On The Beach or a Pina Colada." [sings] "If you like Pina Coladas / and getting caught in the rain / If you're not into yoga / Grif just has half a brain."
