I found this bit on the 6th world wiki. [link]
QUOTE Mars From Sixth World Wiki In 2064, Yamatetsu, helped by Russia and the Pacific Prosperity Group, succesfully sent the manned spaceship Valentina Tereshkova to Mars. As far as the public knows, this is the first manned mission to reach the Red Planet, although rumors/conspiracy theories says that the NASA did so first in the 2010s. By 2070, Yamatetsu, now named Evo, has successfully established a base on Mars. Have there been any other details released about this facility? Like, how many people live there? What kind of work they're doing? Is the public even aware of it? -paws |

And i still say we need a book:"Shadowrun: IIN SPAACEE!" |

Frank ran a rather bizarre game set there. It died after a few months and I have no idea what he actually wrote down about it. You could email him and see if he has anything he'd be willing to send you, but it certainly isn't going to be "the official word".

Couldn't agree more, Stahlseele. I'd love a book that, if not solely focused on Space, at least dedicated a good number of pages to it... Hmm. This could make for a good PDF project.

I would also love to see a dedicated space sourcebook for Shadowrun. Considering the climax of Neuromancer and the climax of one of Count Zero's subplots took place in orbit, I'm amazed Shadowrun hasn't had a space setting book before now.

I would love a Shadowrun Space Sourcebook.
It should update all past details (various stations etc.) to the present day. Notes on station size, background count etc. If it's not enought for a stand alone print book than an adventure in space with a detailed backround section or a PDF book would be great also. |

I would love to write a book on Shadowrun in Space. Whine! Whine little shadowfans! Complain to the unholy triumvirate at CGL and maybe they'll put it on our bloated schedule.

How would the runners get to Mars?
Well, this is a "Prime Runners Only" job... Rumor says that NASA *might* have done it, but nobody knew. Ares said that the data was lost in the Crash. So, keep in mind the mindset of the Cold War, and then think of that 2010 base. It would have defenses "Just in Case" and all of that. But what has been living there. What has been growing there... And how have the events since it "went dark" affected it? |

Wonder if they found hints at flying saucers, pyramids and dragon bones up there?
That said: SR: IIN SPAACEE! [ Spoiler ] OK, had to trim this posting down a bit. Board did not seem to like 1000x Gimme! I don't frigging care if it's not a feasbile Shadowrunner field of application. Make it a plot-book if you have to. Or something like the States of XXX series, but GIEF NAO! And have Uncle/Aunty Ancient write it damn you! Someone start a petition about this! Gets my Vote in an instant! Just add Water! |

A field of fire redux & refurbish and a cool space book with a ton of great plot hooks would definetly be on my willing to buy list.

Especially if they really are returning to their original 1st ed. format (with all the lovely fluff) for the 20th anniversary stuff. |

Given the AMAZING rate at which this thread is expanding with everybody saying something along the lines of "oh my gods yes! hellz yeah! gimmie gimmie gimmie!!!!", maybe CGL really SHOULD at least bat it around. There ARE a number of orbital habitats that should get at least a little play... heck, one of the one-page stories in the books (chapter teaser) is ON one of the orbital platforms! But I will not whine, or beg... *Kerenshara batts her eyelashes winsomely at the Evil Triumberate at CGL* |

Sorry, I'd do something up, by my knowledge of the Shadowrun universe stops right after the events in Bug City.
Space stations are right up my alley. |

OK, keep feeding me data and I'll see what I can do.
I can't do SR3 or SR4 mechanics, so I'd probably do all fluff and mechanics vague mechanics, if you get what I mean. First thing would be to take on decompression and low/zero G conditions. How kinetic weaponry and knives could affect suits, and how it would be taken care of. Secondly, I'd need whatever data could be found. Right off the bat, we have: No inertial compensators or dampeners, no FTL communications ability or flight times. Orbiting stations would avoid the L points because of their natural tendency to attract garbage. We'd have to assume that aerogel is in standard usage, so that they could use it for barriers and insulation. The biggest reason is: How would the runners get involved? This is Prime Runner only category stuff. Not for street slime. Not for guys who blew away city blocks trying to do a run. Not for guys who are rabidly anti-corp. It would have to be those who look good in Mr. Johnson's little black book, and one who has a good name and rep in the Corp circles. Why would Evo use runners instead of standard people? Is there a certain something something that the runners have that the Corp needs? That's the first question we'd have to answer. |

There is a space-station build at all the Terran Largange points, though one is a wreck, and Solar L3 point |

Does that mean Mars would have its own biosphere and mages could function? Or are we a bit off from that yet? - J. |

There are Space Rules in the Arsenal, not much though.
Dunno if i want a Space Book for Shadowrun, but definatly something along the lines of the Citybooks or the old Target: Whatever Books about those extreme enviroments would be a nice addition. |

I think the only problem would be for all those player who run mages... if your mage is sufficient diversified then no problem, but if not then he's screwed.
This was why I wrote up my rules for Psions in the Shadowrun universe. Mages don't work too well in space. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) |
